better hope bob bradley is thirsty for gooch, because he could be a big liability for the mnt. i like gooch myself, but he has not played for 6 months. and, he was not getting a lot of playing time before that. is this the guy we want starting at central defence? better think twice before answering. go ahead and criticize whoever might take his place, but most likely those replacements have been playing competitive soccer. someone who has been sitting, and with an injury, is someone england could eat up quickly. it also makes for yellow or red cards due to frustration. make no mistake about it, bb will have gooch under the microscope big time.
I don't think anything could beat the sheer insanity inspired by this photo of Heath Pearce (https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=17455826#post17455826), especially this response (https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=17455914#post17455914).
I think there is a good chance he gets some playing time from the bench this coming Sunday and perhaps starts against Juve in the last game of the season.
That sort of problem is often because of ad-blockers. If you have one, try deactivating it for that page
That may be my favorite BS thread of all time. I like to go back and read it when I'm feeling a little down. Especially: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=17459674&postcount=47
What makes you say that? Center backs are rarely subbed in. If he makes the bench, that would put him back where he was in the beginning of the season. And in my mind, about the best we can hope for.
He was scrimmaging today 11 on 11. http://milantime.acmilan.com/en--training_in_milanello-h-0-0-11507-0 Bonera and Kaladze were still training apart. However, Nesta was back in full training. I say T. Silva and Favalli start on Sunday and Onyewu makes the bench.
That training video wasn't exactly a scrimmage. It looked like a possession game. But it was definitely soccer so that's good.
Onyewu participated in the entire training session this morning with his teammates. http://www.acmilan.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=121249
I think he makes the bench tomorrow. Nesta was just back yesterday in full-training. Chances are Nesta won't make the squad until next week.
http://milantime.acmilan.com/en--training_in_milanello-h-0-0-11511-0 He is still wearing a knee guard
He's the blond-haired dude who appears 20 seconds in to the video, passing with Pirlo. I don't recognize him.
According to the press release, Gooch is part of the 24 called up by Leonardo for the Genoa game. That includes also Bonera, Nesta and Albertazzi. The only CB left home is Kaladze.
Well, if Gooch does make his return tomorrow he won't have to deal with much pressure from the crowd: Genoa-Milan behind closed doors
