Absolutely, if it's a positive remark about an American it's a lie and it's just being nice.

Another lackluster performance from AC Milan. It's astounding how many games they win off of penalties. Their offense this year has been the worst I've seen in a decade. I know the defense got a lot of flack all season, but the attack was really lethargic.

I'd be surprised if they don't make drastic changes before next season. Even Pirlo is no longer the game-changer he once was.

Well, you gotta give that Pato was out for the majority of the season. Had Nesta and Pato not been injured in the crucial part of the season, I am not so sure Milan would have not capitalized the opportunity to win Serie A.

Borriello also had a pretty good season. 14 goals in 27 games played.

I haven't watched much of Milan this season, but the little I saw was that you guys really struggled filling the gap left by Kaka. Which is understandable. 3 or 4 years ago, you guys put on a clinic against Manchester United on how to master a midfield - and this team seems to have fallen precipitously from that point. Much of which I blame on Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho actually had a pretty good season. He is by far assists leader in Serie A. If only Pato would have been healthy all season.

The real problem is that World Cup champions Gattuso, Zambrotta, and to an extent even Pirlo are well past it. Lippi is in for a big surprise if he decides to start Zambrotta, Grosso and Cannavaro along with the only good one, Chiellini, in the back.

Off topic: Is anyone else surprised that G. Rossi wasn't in Lippi's preliminary squad today? It looks like he might miss the WC with Italy. He shouldn't have left the US team. He'd be out star striker, at this point.

That is one hell of an endorsement. Clarence Seedorf has to be considered one of the best players of all time. It's really too bad he had a falling out with the Dutch federation, or else his star would be much higher.

I'd also like to apologize for the lack of a catchy pun in the title thread...but not really.

I correlate the thread titles becoming more and more facepalmingly pun-like with the addition of FA as a mod on this forum :p

a bit of OT but can we get you to start individual threads for Wayne Rooney, John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Young, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Frank Lampard, and Rio Ferdinand sometime this week?? If your able to knock out at least one of them, thatd be pretty supreme

Is there some sort of trick to get SI videos to work?

They don't work for me with Firefox or IE. Little help?

works fine for me on Firefox.

Just judging from that interview, it sounds to me like he's not playing this season or this summer. There's a lot of doubt in his voice when he talks about the World Cup.

Didn't catch much doubt in his statements.

It sounded like he believes he'll be eligible for AC Milan's squad on May 9. If that's the case then I don't have many doubts about him being ready to go this summer.

I didn't hear that at all. He just seemed cautious, not doubtful.

No mention of Gooch in today's training report, although that may be a good thing. Kaladze, Bonera, and Nesta all had personalized/gym sessions. Should be a video up on Milantime later of the scrimmages.
