that's the tricky thing with a sports career, the clock is always ticking. If you don't jump when the jumping's good... who knows when you get another chance.

On the other hand, reach too high, ride the pines and your skills and game deteriorate. Cuts both ways. Claudio Reyna and Kasey Keller always seemed to play it just about right.

Yep. Run DMB, Bedoya, Bradley - the guys that impress me are the ones that make the occasional misstep but still manage to reboot. Cameron always finds a way to contribute. Berhalter was the king of the "last week of summer" transfer, and usually managed to get game. It is a tricky game. Coaches change. Tactics change. Owners change...

That's my opinion. He did his knee in October of that year. At that point he had 0 minutes for Milan in the league.

Sorry, I know I'm late to this... but... I've said it before and I'll say it again. Milan's entire centerback system was broken that year, I mean, a ManU level of injuries. Had Onyewu been healthy, he would have had at least 25 games for them and possibly more that year. His injury was one of the worst timed injuries I can imagine because he was going to get minutes... Shame as I think he could have learned a lot and grown immensely as a player. Damn knees!

They were struggling at CB but Gooch wasn't going to get time. One game he played before his injury, the manager (Leonardo?) moved him up to FW and it wasn't because of his attacking skills. He lacked the quality with the ball that even Kaladze had.

emm... they had something absurd like 4 or 5 cb's injured for a good chunk of the season, so he would have seen time. Also, are you sure you know the exact mindset of the manager you cannot recall?

DAVID WEIR admits there is ‘a chance’ that trialist Oguchi Onyewu will win a deal with Rangers as he keeps his options open this summer.

“I think there is a chance he will win a contract. We wouldn’t have invited him here if we didn’t think he had a chance.

“We’ve got until the end of the week to make our minds up. We’ll give him our thought and he will give us his thoughts and we will see where we are at. The decision has to be right for all parties.

“He has options in the USA and he wants to have options in Europe too.”

Join the crew of Mwanga, Adu, Cole and Pickens on the "remember him" tour in Tampa. They still have to replace Boss in the center of their defense.

I saw this and thought, Cole? The only Cole I can think of is Joe Cole, and THAT can't be right.

World, I love how you continue to surprise me.
