Gooch plays this last 2005 match.

Anderlecht did not make better than a draw at La Louviere. Therefore, Standard can be alone in its first JupLeague position.

Currently, after 60 minutes, Standard is wining 0-1.

Wow, I'm sure that would make his friends and family struggling in the ghetto very proud! :D

I think he was hinting that because he is black then he must be from the ghetto.

    um no.

read the other gooch thread. A Belgian journalist asked him "You're black, did you ever live in the ghetto?"

he was playing off that idiot's dumb question

"Did you grow up in the ghetto?" is the new "is this because I'm a lesbian?"

Well, atleast someone got it. I'm black myself and just laughed when I read that part of the article in the other thread. But really I'm not too PC and some people just need to lighten up a little bit.

It was a pretty funny joke if one knew the reference, and completely mystifying (and upsetting) if the reader didn't know the reference. Not really a "Lighten up, Francis" moment - I'm glad it was explained, because I wouldn't have known what to make of you otherwise.

I read it as a joke and I had no knowledge of the journalist's patently ignorant question. Even if he (Stars&Bars) was serious it would've still been funny due to its pure ignorance. It was funny any way you look at it...

You'll live healthier with Ronald than with any French/Brittish/Belgian Sloppy Poopie restaurant

I'm not starting a new thread but Gooch went 90 earlier today as Standard beat GBA in the Round of 16 in the Belgian Cup. No real details other than Standard's line-up from the club website. And another site called it something like an "economy-class win" as Standard did the minimum winning on 75' PK by Rapaic.

    http://www.standardliege.be/fr/index.html

    Edited to add:
Hmmmm... the link doesn't go directly to the paltry match summary, so you have to click on the Standard v GBA link in the middle.
