Re: Gold Cup Final Seriously though, if the US doesn't make the final, they better remove all sharp objects from the Rose Bowl vicinity for my own personal safety.
Re: Gold Cup Final Try to make your way to the US supporters, it's not worth getting singled out by hundreds of the opposing fans, whoever it be. At least near the US supporters, I'd imagine they'd have extra security in case a big altercation broke out.
Re: Gold Cup Final I'd still go to LA but I'd probably sell the ticket to the game. I wouldn't be able enjoy it if the US were to go down.
Re: Gold Cup Final I know this isn't the thread for it, but if the US doesn't make it to the final, something needs to be done about the coaching immediately.
Re: Gold Cup Final Booked my flight for this. The Bride and I are making our first trip to LA ever. Hey if we don't make it I'll catch a Dodger/Angels game when we're out there.
Re: Gold Cup Final I am also making the trek from Boston for the final. Hopefully a US final and then the next day flying up to Seattle to see the Revs play the Sounders. Should be fun week.
Re: Gold Cup Final Just talked about that one here. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1697110
Re: Gold Cup Final Not a bad idea, if I make the trip, I just may do the same (I'm pretty flexible, as I have family in Orange County).
Re: Gold Cup Final Most companies will do so for an extra fee. Otherwise, try the cheaper companies like Thrifty, Rentawreck etc. I'm pretty sure I rented from Hertz several years ago when I was under 25.
Re: Gold Cup Final If I was an out of towner I would just get a hotel near a metro stop and take the train to pasadena.
Re: Gold Cup Final Yeah, I saw the extra fee thing. If I cant find anything with a straight rate (like as the places you suggested) then I have no problem paying a bit extra. Just as long as I have a way to get around. Nah it's not just for the game. I'm heading down to Long Beach to see a friend and I also wanna go to Venice, Santa Monica and Hollywood. I only visited LA for day trips when I was at UNLV, so when I'm there I wanna go and do some of the sight seeing that I missed.
Re: Gold Cup Final Sigh. With the price of flights at this point, I'm becoming more and more uncertain about my ability to make this trip happen. I'm hoping a miracle occurs and the prices go down a bit but if not, I may have to settle for the GC quarterfinals at RFK. Sad Panda
Re: Gold Cup Final you could fly somewhere cheaper, say PHX or Tucson, and then take the Amtrax train the rest of the way
Re: Gold Cup Final So what's the deal with this seeing as it is a CONCACAF game and not an official US Game. Will they give us a supporters section? Will we be able to bring in big flags and banners? Will we even have a section?
Re: Gold Cup Final In your post? I don't know about flags and banners, but we do have a section. Unless a bunch of Mexicans went in and bought STAND tickets just to piss us off.
