It is known that the US, Canada, and Mexico are in. This weekend starts the UNCAF Copa de Naciones. Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatamala, and Nicaragua are the teams playing. Concacaf.com does a good job at giving a quick run-down of the teams. Link: http://www.concacaf.com/news/article.page/1197 I bet that Costa Rica and Honduras qualify. They are just too strong for the others.
dates / venues Does anyone have a list of the dates and venues? I know that some of games will be at the Revs stadium. But looking for a overall list.
Nothing has been released. The only thing that is official is that if you buy a Revolution season ticket, you get Gold Cup games. I imagine the whole schedule will be announced in about three weeks. After the UNCAF Copa de Naciones and the Copa Caribe.
UNCAF Copa de Naciones on TV It looks like Galavision will be carrying most of the games. It's nice that this tourney apparently isn't on closed-circuit or ppv. You can find a schedule on SoccerTV: http://www.soccertv.com/uni.cfm Or check the Galavision weekly schedule: http://www.univision.com/content/content.jhtml?cid=69088

Does anyone know where to find rosters for this tournament? I wouldn't count out Guatemala if they have Ruiz!
you never know Last time, three teams qualified - Guatemala, CR, and ES, in that order. Honduras, the host in 01, finished third in their first round group and didn't even make the final phase. The RSSSF page for the 01 tourney has the rosters, with clubs, as well as all the results and scorers: http://www.rsssf.com/tables/gold-cam01.html But their 03 page doesn't have rosters yet - and looks like the format may be a little different too: http://www.rsssf.com/tables/gold-cam03.html
Re: dates / venues It has been reported on Canadian television that Boston and Miami will host the 2003 Gold Cup. Two groups in Boston (US and Mexico) and two groups in Miami (Canada and Costa Rica). The thing is, Costa Rica hasn't qualified yet, so I don't know if I would trust this report.
Here's the rosters for Guatemala and El Salvador. Ruiz and Freddy Garcia from Columbus both selected: http://www.concacaf.com/news/article.page/1154
They aren't the only ones who have a chance -- three teams from Central America (and from the Carribbean) are guaranteed qualification. The fourth-ranked team from each of those regions play off for the final spot. The past three champs are guaranteed to be in, then there are two guests. I'd bet that Costa Rica, Honduras, and Guatemala qualify automatically with El Salvador and Panama fighting it out for the playoff spot. That leaves Nicaragua at the bottom, which is about right b/c they're pretty awful.
El Salvador-Panama 2-1. If Panama can't beat El Salvador at home, they don't have much chance of qualfying.
Re: Re: dates / venues I had previously heard that DC would also host some games, and possibly Giants Stadium...
[R] RESULTS [R] The official rosters are now up at the Concacaf site. Game summaries are also up. Note that if you open this page you'll see the results in a column along the right hand side. http://www.concacaf.com/news/article.page/1207
