TRIPLEHEADER !?! OK, I've been to quite a few doubleheaders, and countless soccer tournaments (all weekend+ events), but ... a ... Tripleheader? Isn't there supposed to be at least 1 hour between games that are internationals? That means at least 8 hours in the big Razor. I'd better start saving up now, or maybe I could take out a second mortgage in order to pay for the concessions during that one.
Isn't this backwards? Shouldn't it be "If Mexico and USA qualify for the quarterfinals, USA would play in Quarterfinal 1 (Foxboro) and Mexico would play in Quarterfinal 3 (Mexico City) regardless of whether they finish 1st or 2nd in the group."
No. The Gold Cup doubleheaders in LA last year saw gaps of maybe 10-15 minutes. Same thing with the Womens Nike Cup in Cary last fall. Notice the start times of the two GC games are only 4 1/2 hours apart.
Hmmmm...hot July sun.....8 hours watching soccer on the "sunny side" of the stadium....mental note to buy SPF 90 - Gallon size at BJ's......
If you need a second or a refinance with cash out, send me a note. I'm in the business and rates are exceptional. 3 matches is a long haul. I'll probably skip Canada v. Costa Rica and head in for the Revs.
So will these games have general admission seating like the rest of the Revs games? If not, does it mean that the supporters the Metro's bring will standing in the Fort? That would be ugly! I'm asking because I assume most of their traveling fans are US supporters as well, and figure that that's where they'd want to be for the US game. The only way they would be able to if it's not GA is by having a seat in the Fort for the whole day. I know there is some precedent with last year's doubleheader and Chicago fans. They were sitting a few sections over during the Revs game, but is that where they started? The seats began to empty after the US game last year and you could sit anywhere. That won't be the case this time as the seats will be filling. Of course if it's GA, this is all moot.
Can you buy tickets the tripleheader? Or are they only available to season ticket holders so far. (Anyone know an onsale date if they aren't available yet?) Thanks for any help.
Any word on a webcast? It would be a kind gesture on the part of the Rev administration. I am assuming that a telecast is out of the question.
I assume that both the Revs-Metro's game and the US-El Salvador game will be on TV somwhere (FSNE & ESPN2, although not sure if they're are carrying US Goldcup games). Canada-Costa Rica may be harder to find on tv if at all possible. You're not thinking of the Champions league game are you? That won't be televised.
D'oh! Actually I was, having been reading about the sad day for 2/3 MLS teams. Sorry my post is misplaced, but since I brought it up, any chance of a webcast from CR?
So the matches of the 14th and 16th are not part of the season ticket package? I was under the impression they would be until I received my tickets Friday and noticed the matches weren't on the "Center Circle Event Schedule". Of course I have a habit of not reading things very carefully, so it's very possible these matches were never mentioned in regard to season tickets and I'm just imagining things....Just a little disappointed that I'll have to shell out another $200 or so for these matches.
Re: Re: Gold Cup schedule Ok, to respond to myself I just dug out my season ticket paperwork. It tells me that I get one Gold Cup first round match and one Gold Cup quarterfinal match. So I guess I will have to buy my tickets to the other two first round dates. That of course leads to to further questions...Firstly, will a season ticket holder have first right to his seats for these matches? Secondly, what are the chances that it is announced that we should use tickets marked Special Game A for one of these dates?
I can't find it anymore on the site, but I recall earlier this year there was something that said the Season Ticket package was for "20 games." Certainly some of the doubleheaders will count for two, but what is the breakdown of the ticketing plan? There are 15 regular season games, plus the first home playoff game to make it 16. How are they counting the other four games? Just a guess, but I'm thinking one would be Juvenuts-Barcelona, one would be for the GC tripleheader (2 "tickets" for each of those dates), the GC quarterfinal and what else? Haven't heard anything about the rumored USA-Portugal game bundled with the Dallas game on June 8, but I don't think that's on anymore. Anyone got the scoop? Tom
Your count seems right, we've got the 15 regular season games, plus the GC first round tripleheader, GC QF's, Juve-Barca....that makes 18. Playoff game #1 will make 19, then there's the ticket for Special Game A for #20. I have a feeling for now that "Special Game A" may end up being a GC doubleheader on 6/14, which would include the US/Caribbean qualifier match. Of course, the only reason I have that feeling is because I've heard of nothing else rumored. Regarding the US-Portugal rumors, the Dallas match that was to be part of the doubleheader is now scheduled for the evening of 6/7 rather than the 6/8 date that was rumored, so I think it's safe to assume that's out. Completely off topic, WBRU is playing the first single from Radiohead's Hail to the Thief as I type...fantastic.
is there a "special match no. 2" ticket in there? ( i haven't gotten mine yet). if there are, in fact, only 19 when i get them.....i'm getting my $ back for #20, ASAP. kraft needs it far less than i do. really, they can't simply make you pay for 20, give you 19, and hold some "we're working on it" carrot out there for potentially the entire season.
