I kept trying and about an hour ago I finally got 3 together in sec 120, everything else was at least 15 rows deep in the upper deck.
Yeah, the link expired at 5pm ET today. It won't reactivate, so, if you haven't bought already, there's not much you can do. The rest of 101 probably went into ticketmaster general sales and was quickly snatched up. Per the FO, 101 officially sold out. Expect 75k.
Unfortunately, I will be watching on TV on the West Coast. Just curious, can any of you NY/NJ area people provide a guess/estimate on the likely Mexican fan v. USA fan breakdown? Will it be 60/40? Worse?
Yep. Will be Azteca Light, a perfect warm up for August actually. Whatever, its just more mexican fans to sing the Sombrero song to after we win the game/
Before the game, most of the bottom two levels (about 45,000 seats out of 70,000) were sold out and, in fact, the top level wasn't for sale. Did Mexican fans buy many of those on the botom levels, or did others who will now cheer for Mexico? Hard to say. I would think the rapid purchasing of the top and largest level is thanks to excited Mexico fans. A 60/40 breakdown wouldn't surprise me, but the 60 will be much louder and more visible than the 40. I find US fans under-estimate their own #s because, well, we're pretty quiet. I was at the infamous Honduras loss in 2001 and I think it was about 40-60 or 30-70 at worst, and I see that people remember it as 10-90.
I sure hope you are right and that many of the early sales were not hardcore Mexico supporters. I think we are ok even if they were Honduras other C.A. supporters. In Philly for the second game most Hondurans seemed to go for the US. If they were mostly Mexico supporters, I could easily see it going 90-10.
I have 4 lower level tickets, good seats, ill let you know what section and row when I get home later this afternoon, but I'm looking to do either a 2 for 2 swap or 4 for 4 so we can get in the supporters section... Let me know if your interested!
I'm actually surprised just how high demand is. Scalper prices are generally only seen for the Columbus match.`
Mexican supporters are very excited to have a tournament final with their team in a major market. Hopefully we can match the excitement but they are driving demand.
Couple of Mexican boys just came into where I work and they said they've been trying all morning and couldn't get tickets. Hold on to your butts.
i think it will depend on who the honduran fans go far, seeing how many tix were sold pre-game im sure at least 5k-10k catrachos in the stadium (depending on if they're resold) could easily swing our way. I'm think 60-40 mex, the stadium will look 80-20 mex, will sound 90-10 us (after the score goes 2-0 at least)
