They didn’t exactly play many games in the summer of 24 did they.

There’s a huge chance that Jedi will not be available for selection with some suggesting he requires some sort of surgery after the season he had.

Dest may likely join up to get some match fitness, however.

No Gio, no Pulisic, no Weston, no Weah, no Moose. Dest and Balo coming off injury. Welp.........our depth is going to get all the tests.

What we thinking for midfield here? Can do some weird freaky Adams-Johnny-Tessmann stuff I guess. Maybe its time for Malik to really shine too.

T&T and Haiti have a much better chance of beating the US at this rate.

Our midfield rotation is literally Adams, Johnny, Tessmann, and Mailk. Those are our horses. Maybe a dash of Busio. Hope Poch can figure something out.

You know????........ this could be interesting....

What is it about the roster for this tourney that leads you in that direction? This was a similar style as in '21 & cuz of what was built that helped us qualify, then advance from our wc group.

I'd say the rumored projections enable us to build more than we did then actually. We'll see what it looks like in the end. But I'm keen on the potential alternatives & requisite depth built between the likes of Luna, Guti, Sullivan, Tolkin, Freeman, Freese, etc.

And this can be an opportunity to some under-performers to finally plant their flags, in more ways than one. It's last chance saloon for those hombres.

Hopefully the boat anchor Tim Ream isn't still around, and we can actually push our line up, then really dictate in our opponent's half instead of our own. And then we can bring that style when the A-team plays in friendlies, only this time they have more challengers to their thrones in the lead-up.

The quality of our last pre-WC tournament varies. If a more prestigious tournament happens in that same slot

How much are these players tactical learnings going to be worth with all these guys missing?

    This is complete bull shit!

I was in favor of the Poch hire, and still hope he will improve us, but perhaps this is what we get when we get a Club coach to coach our national team?

It’s really hard to understand from the outside what Poch and the Federation are doing. This program has felt completely aimless since the Berhalter-Reyna debacle broke containment.

Assming it will be mostly MLS dominant. The European CB's/Sargent/Wright/Balogun and Turner will probably show up, hopefully. Watching Tillman go on that bender after the championship with PSV...wouldn't count on him. Get a Yow and Reynodls in their too.

The only MLS midfielder I'm tracking that's locked in is Luna.

I guess at this point Pochettino knows who his core squad members are: Pulisic, Jedi, Weah, Musah and Adams and wants to see as many as others as possible in camp.

If that's the case I'm not expecting Adams in the GC roster, unless Poch wants to see more of him, as he's only been in one camp.

Obviously this is just my own freaky preference but I’m disappointed about all the missing players bc I have this weird thing where I like to see our best players play for the MNT and win. Yes, even if it’s only the Gold Cup.

And it’s not that consequential in terms of player selection, I suspect barring major disruptions Poch knows who is going to play for us in the WC and who is going to be in a backup role. But beyond that what makes great NTs is reps. That’s the challenge of being an NT, they play together only sporadically unlike a club team that is together for most of a season. And given how putrescent our form has been for the past *checks notes* year-plus, seems to me that the last thing this team needs is to lose whatever minimal connection or cohesion they had.

But hey this is the hand we were dealt, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m much less sanguine about our chances to win, obviously, but maybe the fact that we’re a longer shot will make it more exciting if we do take the title. (That was a valiant attempt at optimism in case it’s not obvious.)

    I'm not mad, just disappointed.

Handful of friendlies here on out is all we have. Our hope is that Poch will be able to flip a switch at Sofi in June '26.

At this point it seems like someone in charge is intent on avoiding anyone from the first XI at all costs.

Part of me wants to understand individual situation like, why no Dest? But then I realize, what’s the point? The plan is obviously to hope Geoffrey Rush is there to say “don’t worry, things will work out,” next summer.

I didn't think US Soccer wanted to totally bungle the World Cup that the US is hosting at home, but it's increasingly looking like this team is going to be a monumental embarrassment next year.

What are USSF and Pochettino thinking? Have they lost their minds?

The 1st team needs all the playing time together that it can get!

    They don't.

Some combination of "this player needs a rest after a long season," "this player needs a rest after recovering from an injury," and "this player isn't as good as we thought."

I get the feeling that the change of the date the summer window opens (June 1 this year) is affecting who begs off the GC invite.
