Why oh why oh why....just when I'm thankful to have Gol TV...even considering dropping FoxSportsWorld...they pull off the dubbing in English. How cheap can you get! (Don't even get me started on how silly it is to have english commentary for leagues of Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America, let alone for La Liga and Seria A) I've already bombarded my cable compay (Comcast Boston) and Gol Tv's website on the change. And yes...i have a SAP button on my TV, but the f#cker isnt working. Well..looks like i have to save up money to go back to Europe again....
I am so happy that I get Goltv in english. It is great that we get english coverage of Italy and Spain. What cable system do you have? In some they only have the SAP option but in others (like Comcast, mine) they have 2 Goltv channels, one in each language. You might want to check to see if your system converted to the second format.
BTW, does anyone have any idea when GOL TV's exclusive agreement Satellite provider agreement with Dish Network is up? Isnt it supposed to be about now, cos I'm waiting for when it comes onto Directv.
My understanding that it was supposed to end either the first of December or first of the year. I wonder if they DirecTV will add it considering that they just committed to the NFL with a 70% cost increase.
Just found out GolTv (English or Spanish) is available in this area starting December 8th, so I quickly changed my digital package through Comcast to the Sports package (267-Fox Sports World, 268-Gol TV English). Plus we are getting the Comcast DVR installed tomorrow, so I can record games. Mana from Heaven, baby! Anybody know what the official Gol TV website is? I tried goltv.com but that wasn't it. I need to know what leagues they carry. Hoping some Champions League games.
Oh, and I did check. I get Comcast digital cable with the sports package (FSW & GolTV), Comcast DVR, and Comcast high speed internet all for far cheaper then I'd get the same exact things through Direct TV (hell, high speed internet from Direct is $100 a month alone). Don't believe the commercials! Comcast is a better deal!
I personally have iO Digital Cable via Cablevision in NYC (Brooklyn/Bronx). But since I live in Brooklyn, I do NOT have GOL TV. I am very sorry. Even in English, I still won't get it.
You've got my problem. I can no longer receive GolTV in English. However a few towns away from me my pal recieves GolTV in English over CABLEVISION. Unfortunately, I have COMCAST. After a 40 minute phone call with Mandy the answering gal who was very, very nice and who's supervisor affirms that there is nothing more they can do and that I might call Toshiba to help me with the buttons STR, SAP, MONO. I got Spanish-only on GolTV when I first signed up for the $5/month sports package (which includes Fox Soccer and a bunch of totally worthless channels) but after a short time they revised it to English-only. During the summer soccer break GolTV was bought by a entrepaneur and the channel went back to Spanish some time during the break when almost no games were broadcast by GolTV and others. Yesterday I was with my pal, about 20 minutes away, where I heard English on GolTV and he told me that this was always the case on CABLEVISION. I said it must be a dish connection to a satellite but he said he was linked to cable and nothing else.
Hey, what the hell is going on? I just noticed I'm replying to a comment that's 4 years old. Who's running this dead site?
It is added here in LA on time warner but its not on the sports tier. You have to get the Spanish Tier in addition to the sports tier..grr
