For those of you who have Comcast, you may have discovered as I have that I am no longer able to view Gol TV. Last night and today, the onscreen message said Not Authorized and the number to call to purchase it. Evidently, a few days ago, the whole broadcast system changed at Comcast, and the resultant change aligned Gol TV with a Spanish package, even though many of the broadcasts are in English. The bottom line is that if I want to view it, I need to pay $9.95 a month. Since I don't speak Spanish, (unfortunately I Don't and I Wish I Did), it is more than I wish to spend a month for something that shouldn't be extra!!! BAH HUMBUG!!!!! :(

I was hoping this was a mistake on my box. I prefer the leagues that FSC shows, and there is a free spanish channel that shows soccer in spanish, but taking gol away is a STUPID movie, especially after I told Comcast how glad I was to have it as part of my platinum package. Maybe if we make enough noise they will bring it back to us?

GOL TV is part of the DirecTV sports pack.

Not sure this will help, if you don't speak Spanish, but ...

I change my Comcast subscription pretty regularly, depending on what's being offered and what works. Gol TV is something I gotta have, so I do what it takes. Right now, thanks to an enterprising CSR, my basic package is ... I forget what it's called, Completo or something. It's a Spanish-language package. It's just like a standard package, except you get all those Spanish-language channels in the 600s, including Gol TV and Fox Sports Espanol. And it's actually a coupla dollars cheaper than the English-language package. All else is the same, so I get more channels for less $$$. Whether this is standard practice or just a deal I was lucky enough to get, I don't know. Main thing is, though, Gol TV doesn't seem to have the English SAP in this version, so you have to listen in Spanish.

change to Dish. DVR dual reciever America's top 180 package has it all. No need for any extras and it is a helluva lot cheaper than comcast. Just set it to the English feed and voila done deal. Easy.

I feel for you folks who have Comcast, especially the ones who have no choice due to apartment situation etc. Those of us who have Dish have had GolTV since it first came out and it's just been there ever since. I've got the 180 package and couldn't be happier.

This isnt a promotion for this package, the price will always be cheaper than the digital basic which is like 50 bucks where as the spanish package is 28 bucks. You'll still get all the basic channels in english from channel 2-99 that you usually pay more for anyway. I've had it for over 4 years now

Thanks for pointing that out. I forgot about the Appartment Complex Nazis who control the airwaves by giving Comcast a monopoly.

I started this thread so I think I should explain why I have Comcast. I used to have DirecTV. I got a little hacked at DirecTV because I could never get the major networks in high definition. Every time a big sporting event came on ABC,NBC, or CBS, and I had to look at "broadcast in high definition" but was never able to see it, it drove me crazy. I went and talked to a salesperson at Best Buy who installs high def stuff, and he told me that while DirecTV or satellite in general has a little higher resolution in high def, the difference isn't discernible to the average person, which I am. Since I already used Comcast as my internet provider, by switching to Comcast, I am saving 70$ a month for a year, and get all the major networks in high definition along with ESPN. Not only that, but it includes a high def DVR so that I can even record programs in high definition. I just couldn't beat that so I gladly switched. I know that I am lucky to have the equipment to utilize this so I won't do any complaining, I was just sorry to see Gol TV go away since I had been watching it for months. Between the two, I would much rather have Fox Soccer Channel, though I did enjoy some of the programming on Gol. One can never have too much soccer!!!! Thanks for everybody's input. :)

I have Charter and just this week they added GolTV as part of the $4.99 sports package that includes all the regular stuff.. Extra Fox regionals.. Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports Espanol, more..
I'm set ... We also get ESPN Desportes ... A couple of years ago all we got was Fox Sports Espanol as far as soccer channels here so they have really been trying to make us soccer fans happy on my system.. :)
My GolTV is in English BTW...
