I sent an e-mail to Gol Tv about a week ago and this is the reply I got yesterday. I thought some of you might like to read it. I asked about the rumors that Gol Tv was planning on playing fewer La Liga games in order to play more games from Latin America. Here is the reply:

    corriente.)

    Muchos saludos y ala Madrid,

    Constantino
    GolTV, Inc.

As you can see, there are no plans to drop La liga games. However, I think it is only natural that Latin America will be more emphasized as the channel grows among the South and Central American communities. As always, it is a good idea to send an e-mail to gol tv every now and then to ask for more La Liga coverage. I personally hope they can add a taped game or two during the week to go along with the 2 or 3 live games on the weekend. This way we all have a better chance of seeing our favorite teams.

Yeah like watching soccer from Guatemala is of the same category as the liga matches. I personally would rather watch the San Jose Stealth LaCrosse team play live versus watching a soccer match from Guatemala!

There are many more Barca and Madrid supporters here in the US many who are not spaniards than supporters from some of the central american countries, and GolTV knows that. I for one hope that Spanish teams win the CL and UEFA Cups so next year when there are calcio and liga games on at the same time, calcio will get the back seat and will be seen on SDD much like is the case this year for liga matches.

It's also alot more expensive to show Real Madrid and Barcelona matches than Guatamalan league games, I would imagine! Apparently GolTV is losing money from La Liga.

On Sunday the KO's are at 0700, 0900 and 1100 hrs PST, all games will be shown live. It's a shame that Malaga isn't on because that would have been a trifecta for us Andaluzes!

saludos y viva ese beti manque lopera!

I think Dish is currently the only carrier on satellite. Some digital companies are picking it up, I believe, but the Business & Media boards will have all the info.

Cool...an American Bundesliga site, BUT your link doesn't appear to be working. Finally another American who watches the Bundesliga. I have been watching it the last 2 seasons...still haven't found my club to follow.

I wish FSW would show a few La Liga matches a year!

GolTV, combined with Fox Sports and Fox Sports en Espanol, is causing my social life to decline at a rapid pace.

I heard that in some cities, such as LA, goltv is carried by comcast. Does anyone know if comcast in chicago plans on carrying goltv anytime soon? FOx Sports World gave up on La liga, and im stuck with english soccer, not that i dont like it, but i prefer la liga. Basically, is it necessary for me to get a dish if I want to see any liga games?

I have DirecTv and it is killing me that they don't carry Gol TV.

But before I get Dish I think I would get Voom for their HD coverage on Worldsport of La Liga and the UEFA Cup. Football in HD is unbeleivable!
