HT 1-0. We should really be 2 or 3 up. Hope we don’t rue those chances missed.

Maanum back to her old marauding self from a few seasons ago. Great to see, after that cardiac(?) scare from last season.

Caldenty & Foord also lively and dangerous on the wings. Caitlin has been moved to the right to accommodate Mariona. Smart move. (plus Mead has been out, so easier to give RW to Foord)

71’ and still only 1-0. i’ve hit the woodwork quite a few times including twice in the last 15 seconds. If ever a team needed a second goal for security, it’s this one.

    FT AWFC 1-0 ROS

On to the UWCL draw. But JUST!

    Shots 30(5) - 5(3)
    Poss 82% - 18%

If I were Jonas I’d not be too happy

....or if I were Edu, I don't know that I'd be happy with Jonas.

Hacken 1-0 AWFC in leg 1 of UWCL play-in tie.

    Only watched these highlights:
    https://arsenal.page.link/jerRgo13DKSPwYqe7

… but it seems we were a bit profligate. Hit the bar twice, had other very close chances, dominated all the stats, etc.

So we’ve dug ourselves a bit of a hole. Could be worse, but we have some work cut out for us in a week’s time.

If we fail to get in to the group stage for the second straight year, the pressure on Jonas is gonna be pronounced

They'll never sack him in the middle of the season, but he should be let go if we don't qualify.

Along with the men, the women also played Citeh on Sunday. And it also ended 2-2. That’s all I know, as my travels precluded me from watching/reading anything yet.

In a few minutes, the women are playing Hacken in leg 2 of UWCL qualifier play-in. Aggregate starts at 0-1 since we lost first leg in Sweden. But we're playing at Meadow Park which if it's as loud and lively as usual, should be an advantage. And we're fielding a really strong XI so I'm optimistic.

23' and Lia Walti makes it 1-0 (1-1). First time deft chip-like shot from 20 yards. Great to have her back... she's always been a fave.

40’ Caldenty makes it 2-0 (2-1) off a sloppy deflected goal. But a HUGE one that we’ll take every day of the week, especially when there’s this much jeopardy.

Had to run a few errands at HT. Came back just now to see that...

49' Mead makes it 3-0 (3-1) assisted by McCabe

Now it should be just a matter of shutting up shop. And yet we're still trying to score more. :D

59' Russo puts it in the net but was 1/2 yard offside.

78' Maanum makes it 4-0 (4-1). Finishing off a great team goal with pinpoint assist by Foord & pre-assist by Cooney-Cross. It's a romp now!! :D

I was “working” while I “watched”. Alas, neither with full attention.

1 nil win over Leicester today. Didn't watch but apparently (according to Tim Stillman's tweets) we made things a lot harder on ourselves than we should have.

Thx. Forgot about this one. I’m skackin!

ps. In my defense, I’m still a bit shellshocked from last night when I went out to Red Bull Arena. And left a match early for the first time that I can remember.

    Finally found and watched highlights:

Perhaps a bit too close for comfort. Used all 5 subs, prob because of midweek game.

Russo still can’t seem to find the net, but at least she is doing a pretty good job as creative provider, including a really nice assist on the only goal.

And new girl Van Domselaar got her first start in goal, did well it seems. I’m happy to see her give Manu a bit of a run for her money, even though the latter has improved over the last year or two.

But our sqweeky 1-0 at Leater is bare minimum compared to Chelsea’s 7-0 at Palace. They haven’t seemed to miss a beat after Hayes left… a bit like LFC men post Klopp? Both new managers seem top notch and not forcing big philosophical changes, initially anyway.

Well, my slacking continues. I missed the fact that the gals played today, and only one of my pods clued me in. Anyway...

    AWFC 0-0 EFC

I can only say that from the 4-minute highlights package I just watched, it was virtually one-way traffic by us, HOWEVER lacking anything like clinical or lethal finishing. And the best chance of the day was afforded to Everton who forced our GK into a save onto the bar.

And our GK on the day was for the 2nd match running: Van Domselaar. Which is interesting because Zinsberger was on the bench so she must've been at least fairly fit?

Other notable returns to action (but not starts) were: Catley & Williamson.

    Supporting the highlights were the lopsided stats: Shots 21(5) - 5(2), Corners 11 - 2, Poss 69% - 31%

They played at the Grove, which looked a bit sparsely populated. They plan to play there more this season, but a match like today's won't exactly fill up those seats.

Nor will the overall results and standings: W1 D2 L0 and 6th place.

Jonas must be feeling pressure to turn things around. It's only a 22 match season, so each match has bigger significance.
