I wonder if FIFA is working on some plan to require/check/have fans self report vaccination status before issuing Fan ID's?
You needed green status on the ehteraz app to enter any game at the Arab Cup. You also needed it to enter anywhere indoors in Qatar incl the metro. I needed to be fully vaccinated and have a negative PCR to get it. Not sure if there are other ways. I had to scan my EU Vaccination cert. A lot can change but as of now probably best avoid Qatar if anti Vax or not vaccinated by the time you go. I found them to be very strict on this. One of our group had his phone run out of battery and he was not allowed back into his hotel.
Something about Tickets will be announced in the coming few days. News came on twitter for one of qatar 2022 twitter account..
Not much information , but the official Qatar page on Instagram ( @Roadto2022en ) .Posted “Stay tuned for major news that will bring you one step closer to you’re seat at at Qatar2022” Hopefully it means sometime, this week or next, ticket application will start .
Isn't that just relating to Hospitality (I know it's already on sale!) I read on some FIFA pages a while ago (no link) that general ticket sales wouldn't be take place until after the final play offs and after the final draw which is in April. Qatar Government is surely likely to want to link ticket sales to accommodation and vice versa (like Hospitality). I can't see them wanting a lot of oiks wandering around with nowhere to stay.
We will see. Seems hard to believe that tickets will go on sale tomorrow without any warning. But with FIFA who knows!
I'm only putting up what's about , I don't believe they will go on sale tomorrow . The ballot for the lottery may open or the date for when it will open and price's etc
Yep, dates and prices maybe. Its a strange one given the lack of accommodation. What will come first? The tickets or the rooms? They surely won't start selling rooms until after (or the same time as )the first ticket phase, because they won't want space sold to someone without tickets, will they? Ok, you will be able to get to any stadium from anywhere in Doha, but if they released tickets now and allowed you to acquire one ticket for a nominated team for a group phase match you would need to book a room for 5 days to guarantee a room on the day your team plays, if you book accommodation before the draw. On the other hand, maybe if they sell tickets now they could hold accommodation back and you only get buy a room when you input your ticket confirmation number. That perhaps seems more likely, but the date of the draw in April is the key thing. Like a couple of people have said previously, if you have money to burn the simplest and most stress free solution is to buy from the Hospitality site now.
a visa card pre-sale is a possibility. That's how I got my tickets for the Confederations Cup final, Club World Cup final + Arab Cup final. Not sure if they do it for the WC though. I don't remember them doing it for Russia 2018. However, all other recent FIFA tournaments have had pre-sales or random draw pre-sales for those paying with a visa card
This image posted by the Qatari Islamic Bank who are sponsoring the tournament suggests that some sort of Visa Card Holder pre-sale is going to take place from January 19-February 8
Weird, I live in Qatar and am subscribed to a whole bunch of Qatar news and social media sights and haven't seen a SINGLE thing posted anywhere about it... will keep you posted if I do....
Does it mean first come forst served ? Or just usual draw but visa cards holders ? So i can do my app anytime between 19 jan / 18 Feb, doesnt matter the time ?
https://m.thepeninsulaqatar.com/art...jvwHb-vEQiR6_LcHvbi14xumczX581lmEd079tvMsz_vk well it seems pretty official now.. no idea mate as to what time they go on sale or whether or not it's first come-first serve... before it was random draw for Arab Cup, can't remember for confed cup sorry. Also wondering if it's in 3.5 hours midnight, or midday tomorrow as it sometimes is... that's frustrating..
Looks like is official! Finally ! Tomorrow we can apply for tickets! The official page on Instagram just posted it!
https://wtop.com/lifestyle/2022/01/qatar-world-cup-ticket-sales-to-open-lowest-70-globally/ This is coming from AP: FIFA tickets will be distributed through a ballot process rather than an open sale. Supporters requesting to attend matches at the Middle East’s first World Cup will only discover if they are successful based on a random draw at the conclusion of the first application phase which runs through Feb. 8.
