You might be right. I hope so. I really don't want to worry about missing the World Cup just because I might test positive before traveling, even fully vaccinated/boosted, with no symptoms.
True and I 100% understand. I live in a neighboring country and I also would feel the pain of not being able to attend after paying a lot of money. Completely justified from your side. I hope things get better and we can enjoy it.
Question, after submitting the main ticker holder Hayya card, do I have to wait for it to be approved before submitting the gust applications, or do I just repeat the process for the people going with me?
They may be better off just letting people catch it and build up the immunity. You can't escape BA.5 forever.
you can let them do it for themselves, granted they are able to ofc. and yes, hayya cards for guests can be applied at same time as the main applicant
has anyone been able to make any changes to accommodations yet? they keep telling me I should be able to add a guest to my accommodation as long as it doesn't go past the max capacity, "soon" but I've gotten that "soon" for the past few months, so just wanted to see if anyone has been able to make any changes yet
It works like the FCFS phase, but once opened it extends until hours before each match, except for a few occasional few days closings when they usually reopen with "big" ticket drop. Usually opens two months before the cup kick-off.
Anyone flying Turkish, check your reservation occasionally. They just did a major schedule update. I had a very minor change and while they held the new flight for me, I had to call to reticket. Would not have known without checking. I was definitely not ok to fly until I called and had the ticket reissued. In my case it was an equipment change, but they seem a bit disorganized in general over at TK.
Also, printed Fan ID cards trial has been a disaster in the test event last year. Apparently they had so many problems with printed Fan IDs that they abandoned it mid-tournament. See here and here. So I don't think they'll repeat that experience.
Y'all have read this right? The only apparent measures/conditions are: Being fully vaccinated, Conditions outlined here (negative pre-departure PCR test applies to most visitors. One day quarantine applies to Red list (mostly countries supplying Qatar workforce), Green Ehteraz tick, Wearing masks at public transport, and Random temperature checks. So, under current measures what you worry about is quite likely. But it could change...
Fellow BigSoccer members & visitors... https://qatarscanner.com is a very simple ticket scanner I created to help you all get your tickets when they restock. It shows you the current availability of tickets and allows you to set up audio alarms when tickets in certain categories per match become available. This kind of scanner is only useful during these early phases of ticket drops. In a few months, when demand gets higher and drops smaller, an alarm like this will not be sufficient enough. Not affiliated with FIFA or the FIFA World Cup and it's provided as is. For visitors: This thread is probably the best source of information about the event in English- people here will work to purchase the tickets they still need. You might not believe it, but this is actually early enough to get all your tickets. I recommend you create an account, be active and helpful to others. Members here help each other out with each respective release of tickets and with other helpful information related to the country, entertainment, accommodation, etc. I'll try to host this scanner publicly for as long as I can. In case usage & hosting costs get too high, I'll have to make it private. If this becomes the case, only active members from this board will get access to the scanner. Instructions: Availability for the 64 matches are shown as 'Mxx I123 D1234' strings, which represents the category of tickets available in the international and domestic ticketing portal, respectively. If a certain category is not available, it's represented as a dot. The availability map is auto updated ONCE every 60 seconds. Having this scanner opened in multiple tabs or reloading the page manually won't make it faster, I promise you. It is best to have only ONE tab open with the scanner. Alarms are audio alarms that you can configure to play when certain tickets become available. EXAMPLE: To add an active alarm for Match 8 while searching for Cat3 tickets in the international portal, you input +M08I3. To remove this aforementioned active alarm, you input -M08I3 and hit "Enter". You can set up to 20 alarms. These are NOT shared with the server. Make sure to hit "Enter" after each string. I have included a nonexistent match, M65, so you can test and make sure the alarm is working. The server will return availability for M65 at every 10 minute mark. Browsers tend to block audio autoplays, so after the first test you'll be able to allow audio autoplay for this domain. Again, Match 65 (nonexistent match) is ONLY FOR TESTING! This scanner should be used only on desktop browsers, since mobile browsers severely limit background tabs. Even on the desktop, you might consider running it in a browser you don't normally use, in order to make it the only tab opened. For instance, if you use Google Chrome as your daily browser, I suggest you run this scanner as the only tab in a Firefox. If someone needs assistance, please help them out =)
Testing on firefox single tab for match 65 +M65I1 I allowed permissions for audio and video but still don´t get the sound anyone with the same problems?
You can instantly test with any match that has availability right now. Eg: M35D1 as of now. Add it and reload page. It should sound a sequence of beeps every reload. Once all availability is gone, we only have M65 every 10 minutes to test it.
