I'm at about 50 different entries as well, I'm literally just changing the number in my street and phone number. I'll be damned if I can't get tickets in my own hometown.
To each their own, Homie.. but that sounds like a horrible plan. Assuming you dont like crowds (and fun)?
I could see the appeal of going to a resort in Mexico or Costa Rica or somewhere like that and just binging the World Cup. I'd probably get bored with it after a week, though. Wouldn't want to do it on a boat.
It actually sounds like an amazing trip. But I have a weird bucket list of dream destinations. That said, if I’m traveling during the World Cup, it’ll only be to go to the World Cup. Traveling to watch something on TV (let alone not in the same city/country where it’s happening) doesn’t really appeal to me.
Hey, guys! I've just learned that the TST tickets will be only for the group stage.. Disappointed. Team Specific Tickets: This ticket product provides one ticket to each of your chosen team’s three group stage matches. It does not include any play-off games (round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, bronze final, and the Final). This ticket product is designed for fans who want to follow their team through all group stage fixtures https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments...cousa2026/articles/ticket-products-categories
I have found this whole thing to confusing, although admittedly I have not dedicated a lot of energy figuring it out. Thus, even though I’ll be visiting my daughter in Seattle, I am just going to buy after market. If tickets are too expensive, oh well, I just won’t go. If the games are lowly teams but there are cheap enough tickets, I might go. I’m just finding the Right to Buy thing tiresome, and I’m not into collectibles and all the stuff the FIFA emails mention. I’m just me, I’m not saying I’m part of a broader trend, but just saying. The nice thing about Colorado Rapids tickets is you can just buy the damn ticket. The exact seat even.
The week off and a beach during the World Cup is really fun. You can watch day games in bars or pool side.
The thing is, they don't NEED to be precise. They can apply any crude or sophisticated deletion filter they like - knock some entries out and if a few legitimate folks get caught up in it as well - no big deal as FIFA will offer many additional phases and not everyone was guaranteed a window anyway. It's only a mess for them if they try to articulate their process (and notice that they don't). Otherwise, pretty simple if they just communicate that obvious duplicates are being removed to maintain "the integrity of the process." They could also be bluffing and not bother at all... From my perspective, they have always, in recent years, been able to filter. It's more a question about their desire. I'm pretty sure they don't want negative publicity about most fans applying and not getting a window because of speculation that some are submitting applications by the hundreds or even thousands... There is no country in the world with more busy-body media than the US. Just imagine the drone of media saying FIFA is corrupt, the ticketing is rigged blah blah. So they might do some arithmetic to knock out some duplicated applications just to keep up the % of applications getting a successful window. Say there are 20 days x 24 hrs per day and each window is 4 to 6 hours long. That means 80 to 120 windows only. If they get 6 million applications, that's 50 to 75 thousand people per window, which is likely unmanageable (1 million tickets divided by 100 windows gives 10 thousand tickets per window for 50K to 75K buyers). So either filter duplicate applications and raise the success rate, or disappoint a lot of people. Again, who knows what they think is best? There is no question that this shift to lottery-driven-ticket-buying windows from actually selling tickets potentially changes their views on duplicate submissions. The good news is that we are ALL going to find out in under 2 weeks Don't sweat it boys - I am sure all the old grey foxes here will get most of the tickets they want, by hook or by crook
I just got an email from FIFA offering me a RTB tickets to a Canada FINAL for $999. Hmmm - doesn't seem to be a very good investment, albeit if Canada was to make it to the final, I would certainly want to be there
Geez FIFA are so hopeless. Putting out even more confusing and incoherent statements to try and explain their original complicated, confusing and incoherent statements. A week to go and we are truly none the wiser with this ticket phase as how it will work. The one thing we can all agree on is that their main focus is to squeeze as much $$$ from fans and not run a smooth, user friendly, easy to understand ticketing process.
if you're referring to todays article. It quoted anonymous sources. At least 1 person mentioned has a track record of just making stuff up. I'm sticking to my plan with the appropriate precautions. 7 applications are 100% clean. Names and addresses matching the credit/debit cards. No duplicate emails or street addresses. I'm using one card to load up on accounts with random street addresses. If anything im testing some theories for future sales.
SOUNDEX() should work with your specific example, but your points are valid. Toss in a "NW" or Unit 1 though and you've defeated the mighty 1980's technology. There are many websites - including most banks - where you enter an address and it gets standardized using a lookup against the postal service's database (and asks, "Is this your address?"). Not hard, not even very expensive these days. But...there's zero chance of FIFA doing that for Canada/US, never mind a couple hundred countries.
Thanks. I believe I am on the US Soccer's Insider program, so I will attempt tickets through that system.
lol I like yer thinking man When alls said and done it’s just 90 mins, maybe a bit more if extra time. If ticket prices are too high I won’t even consider it. It’s just a game after all bon’t get sucked in by the excitement of the chase be prepared to walk away if costs are excessive. This includes flights and hotels. Different story if you live there of course ;-)
Yup. Closest stadium to me is KC and that is still going to be an eight hour drive. So it is either watching Cape Verde- Panama type matches that people on stub hub will give away on match day or just going on vacation and doing fun things that are really worth my time and money.
So I entered the draw, now what? If I get picked I can buy tickets to whatever game I want which will most likely be sold out. why didn’t they do this like Euros where you enter a draw and select your tier tickets to specific games?
UEFA is not FIFA. FIFA moved to a more complex and confusing model. No one knows what's going to happen until Oct1 if youre selected.
I was expecting it to be more like Euros in the past. Where you enter a draw for specific games in specific cities, for specific tiered tickets. so what is this draw for? It doesn’t allow me to pick anything? If your picked is it just going to be a free for all and you get what you can?
If you get picked, you get a window of time to buy any tickets they have available, with a max of 4 per match and 40 total.
