funnily, I know many people who would like to visit Canada, but I know literally noone who wants to go there and watch football. any sort of football!
I don’t know anyone who even wants to visit Canada. Most of the interest is to Mexico. I’m in LA, so that makes sense.
I guess a lot of international fans (especially families with kids) who cant have a visa to the US will go to Canada, especially anyone who has a relative who lives in Canada.
I assume most people think it snows in Toronto in June so I say steer clear (more ticket potential for me).
I know a few French guys that plan to come for the World Cup, one will follow Morocco, the other Tunisia, I expect each will be part of a small group. The one French family I know in our neighborhood hopes to see Iran play. I agree that the French don't tend to travel in large numbers to support Les Bleus, but a good number do travel to support other national teams.
This will be a World Cup mostly for the Americas. The costs for europeans to travel will limit them greatly. Add to that if tickets prices are as high as we expect most here who would normally travel will give it a miss.
Guys apparently Dynamic Pricing won't be involved in this World Cup as stated in FIFA's newly updated FAQ.
So are we deleting extra applications in our household or are we keeping them ? Now states on the website it is one application per household.
variable, not dynamic. Basically FIFA can change the prices but they don't have a live algorithm doing it for them. They honestly will probably have 1 price for the Visa pre draw. Maybe the same or with slight adjustments if things are weird for the next pre draw. Then after the draw, they will adjust for the next lottery when teams are known.
Yep, totally agree. And this round is only for a limited amount of tickets (they still have many more rounds left). Also, they "reserve the right to delete duplicates".. I'll take that as they won't. But maybe reality is if multiple addresses, they'd only give you 1 draw instead of getting selected for multiple.
Bet it's 1 household can be selected. So if you put in 10 applications with same address, only 1 would be selected. I'm cool with that.
Nerd!! Ha joking. I've always loved the chances vs odds vs probability wording, which I mess up every time.
Here's what I'm doing: * One FIFA account and entry: my name and address and VISA card #1 * Multiple FIFA accounts and entries (20 so far), each with: my wife's name, slightly different address each entry (e.g, 123 Main St, 124 Main St, 125 Main St), VISA card #2 If they don't filter dupes, I've got 21+ entries. If they eliminate my wife's, at least my entry is still good. Will this work? Who knows?
No one said residents in LA - or for that matter Southern California - are very cultured or intelligent
Yeah, admittedly I didn't care enough to read about the process in detail beforehand. But trust me, I didn't go in with high expectations. Still though.... this is basically a lottery to see who gets to stand in line to buy a lottery ticket. Even if I read about the process carefully beforehand, I wouldn't have believed what I was reading. I don't know what I'd call this but it wouldn't be "pre-sale".
That’s believable. They said only 15% of the publicly available tickets for the tournament would be on sale in this first Visa phase.
Right. 15% of what’s left over after hospitality, sponsors, VIPs, RTBs, and federation blocks are taken care of. Not 15% of the full stadium capacity.
While I see people are making multiple apps using varied addresses, is there any worry FIFA will deny applications based on IP?
