More than 1.5 means it is definitely under 2 which is good news for all of us. Hopefully this sale caps out around 5-6 million applications.
Schedule not out yet, but normal price for Megabus is $10 o/w - that one wont go up too much, theres 2 busses per hour on that route
Agree, except for Germany. Their fans travel, they were there in Brazil, but definitely not in large numbers and there are virtually no recent German immigrants in the USA, so they won’t affect ticket prices much.
All Latin Americans teams will fill the stadiums, that’s a given. Remove France, they don’t travel well at all and soccer isn’t that popular in France compared to its neighbors (barely a presence at either of the last two World Cup Finals). Germany and the Netherlands will travel and can afford to, but Germany is in a downslide right now and have little interest among neutral fans (and the Netherlands is a small population). Denmark absolutely not. Small country, no neutral interest. North Africa (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, maybe Algeria) will all be well-represented. None except Nigeria or Ghana in the rest of Africa. Korea, Japan, and Iran will all bring big crowds (somewhat location dependent).
What about Uruguay and Paraguay (and Bolivia, if qualified)? If you have doubt about the Netherlands, I would think these 3 are bigger doubts. Ever been to an airport in any of these 3 countries? Not very busy. And not many direct flights to the U.S./Mexico/Canada (zero in the case of Bolivia's largest city).
Here's another question.....will people living in a city that is hosting matches get priority for matches in that city? For example, I live in Seattle.....will my application for Seattle matches be given a higher priority than someone from Brazil, for example?
Hi guys, anyone that might have any tip regarding how I could get a Visa card quick so as to be able to apply? I would guess it has to be reloadable. If it's virtual thats better as I am not living in the US. Otherwise, I have my brother there that can help. Thanks
What do you mean by application for Seattle matches? The presale draw, if selected, gives you a window where you can by whatever tickets FIFA makes available at that time. There was an entry where you indicate your interest in specific venues, but that's just for FIFA's data collection and has nothing to do with what tickets you can buy. From the legal text: You will also be asked to indicate your preferences and/or interests in specific FIFA World Cup 2026™ Tickets, teams and venues. This step does not require you to purchase any specific Tickets. Indicating preferences will not increase your chances of winning, nor will your preferences limit which Tickets you may purchase. If you win the Prize, you may choose to buy any available Tickets or you may choose to purchase no Tickets.
I doubt it but it'd be great if we did. I live 5 miles from the stadium formerly known as SoFi Stadium.
Europeans don't really travel to watch their teams in large numbers. Uruguay had many more fans than Portugal or France in Russia. Against Portugal, I'd say it was (about) 10 to 1. However, our current team is not playing well and expectations are very low so... Anyway, CR7 was really impressed with our national anthem:
Have your brother go to a CVS/Walgreens etc and buy a Visa prepaid card for around $5. Load it with $1 to activate it. Apply for a new regular visa card ASAP and use that card in October to actually pay for the tickets. If the new card doesnt arrive in time, transfer funds into the prepaid card and use that one
I would mail in an entry. Section 3.b https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/20569...-Draw-for-Visa-Cardholders-Official-Rules.pdf
Wise is one option for a virtual debit card - make sure you get the Visa one not the MC one. However, one poster here said that their Wise card would not work initially. Wise is very reputable and a good choice for international currency spending in general. I see Latin Pay is only Mastercard. Chime is another known bank with a virtual Visa debit card, but they're better known as a US bank that happens to have a virtual debit card option. Wise is great for international travel.
Use any mailing address you want on the accounts. They won’t be sending you tickets in the mail. It also doesn’t have to match the address tied to the Visa card you submit.
Thanks for the clarification, I saw this post https://www.tiktok.com/@travelfutbolfan/video/7548908084458999070?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc
The big unknown is if the cross reference and deny using 1 per household type of clause but we are doubting that since they havent in the past. Point is: you can apply for the draw now with multiple accounts all having the same address, nothing stops it.
Our friend “Travel Futbol Fan” is the undisputed king of World Cup misinformation. Don’t believe anything he posts on there. Or at least check some other sources. It’s possible they’ll filter out accounts that share a mailing address and/or name. But there’s no evidence they’ve ever done that in the past, and it makes even less sense when the drawing is just for purchasing timeslots (not direct match tickets). And as I said above, the mailing address and name don’t matter at all, so just change them between each account you submit.
I know. But in the old days, they had SSTs (site-specific tickets).....where you could buy tickets for all the matches in a specific city, and for which residents of that city were given priority.
They’re going to have those packages this time (now called “venue-specific tickets”). But there’s no priority for local residents of the city. How would they even determine whether you’re local? The mailing address doesn’t mean anything with digital tickets, as we saw with people buying on the local Qatari resident portal in 2022 using any Doha address.
Have the credit card companies match the addresses with billing addresses.....technology-wise it's pretty easy to do.....I don't think too many people have credit card billing addresses that are not their residence or place of work.
Thanks. From what I understand this has to be done from the US to get there in time, am I right in assuming that?
