FIFA just dropped about 400 lower bowl cat 1 and a few cat 2. Edit: bizarre.... like 10-15 minutes later everything is gone. FIFA has acted so strangely through all this.
For those that have done the NYNJ shuttle, were you able to bring sealed food/drinks aboard? I’d ideally bring a snack that I’d finish before entering the stadium perimeter
Oh dear, sorry, must have been wishful thinking! Did see him against Italy though. I think Battiston was captain. Not that it matters.
I know it's been said already but the user interface for the FIFA marketplace is so bad it can only be intentional. no way to search for tickets by price. when you move the map around available seats disappear and reappear. phantom tickets everywhere that you click on but which can't be carted. it really is so unbelievably frustrating.
Biggest day on the sporting calendar is here. For those that are there enjoy and savour it. I'm very envious. Me and my son went to the final 4 years ago and it was the best day of our lives. Will be hard to top. Currently in Paros and about to head out to a seaside tavern to watch the game so a decent consolation prize... I think this one might drag out to penalties.
Ladies and gentleman, the big game is finally here. If you are going to the final, enjoy yourselves. If you have been to matches, hoped you enjoyed every minute. I enjoyed most minutes. Hurrah for MexCanUSA 26!!!
Lowest cartable at half time for me before they closed the resale marketplace was $8000 $9200 after fees
Unfortunately, bad behavior by Argentina “fans” and their players at the end of the match marred what was otherwise a fun experience in the stadium. Argentina fans, seriously, you need to learn to accept that other people are allowed to cheer for your opponent, and don’t start fights with them just for that. We saw this happening in our section and the next one over. One in front of a couple with an infant. I mean, WTF is wrong with you guys? At the end of the day, it is just a game. And there will always be another one, so just try to get some perspective. I swear, some of you need counseling, because you have an unhealthy relationship with the sport. Spain was a deserving champion, outshooting Argentina 20-2, or something like that. And it was 18-0 or something before Argentina went a man down. That must be one of the most dominant performances ever in a World Cup final.
That’s an issue with most south american culture and some mediterranean as well sport wise and not only i am afraid... People won’t accept losing and will always play victim to some conspiracy. Playing the final of a world cup without even trying to win is just sad,,, Best team by far won the tournament but i think the overall football quality was very poor…the game is somehow played in way that makes most games feel the same. All the teams have learned to defend with 2 short lines of 5 players and the attacking team spend most of the time passing the ball horizontally…football played in 20 meters is just boring…not sure what can be done about it, it has been like that for a decade now..
[QUOTE=" That must be one of the most dominant performances ever in a World Cup final.[/QUOTE] Yes since the last time Argentina had other things on their mind in 1990.
Congrats to @Marius Tresor! After 8 games you can finally celebrate, your wish came true Argentina lost. I was also at the game and saw no fights and actually saw argentines congratulate the Spaniards that were by our section. I'm not saying you're lying but just generalizing the action of a few for an entire country but that just shows what type of person you are.
I can't see where he has generalized for the whole country anywhere in his message. He mentions he saw in 'his' section and refers to just 'some' of the fans. As it is I think the Argentinian fans have been great as they actually created some atmosphere presumably because many had travelled from the homeland. Far too many games were like playing in a library at times and it took most of the games for all the Spannish shirt clad Americans to come up with 'Espana. Espana'
I had an England conditional to the final, Standord Tier for $5,500. I made sure to cart a Supporters Group direct from FIFA Hospitality that came with pregame hospitality at "nearby" American Dream mall. The second the whistle blew that knocked out England, I bought that other ticket for $8,000. It was worth knowing it was direct from FIFA plus some free food, drinks, and booze before the match. It took 30 minutes to walk to and from the hospitality area. But at least that worked out. Now I await that FIFA refund. (oy)
Man, I am sad this is over. What a great tournament. Got to go to 5 games, my first knockout, just had an absolute blast. Next World Cup will be amazing and will be my son's first which will make it that much better.
Same. Woke up today feeling like something big was missing in the pit of my stomach. Now another 4 years of waiting..but I guess that's what makes the World Cup so great in the first place.
That's true! My wife has always wanted to visit London (she was supposed to go in 2020 but trip got cancelled by...you can probably guess). Maybe it'll be easier to convince her to go in 2028 than I thought! We should start the Euro 2028 thread to ease the pain of WC2026 ending haha
I did the France Euros and it was good, but it just wasn't the same. I will be back in 4 years (I really just hibernate to the USA forums in the interlude periods haha), ready to discuss and start planning. My predictions for for 2030 in terms of planning and how FIFA acts. 1. Prices don't drop but inflation makes them slightly cheaper. I think the pre-draw prices for 2026 will be the standard for 2030. 2. Front Row Cat 1/2 will be a thing again post draw for those high demand matches. 3. All 3 South American openers will be absurdly hard to get tickets to, but only the Argentina one will be priced like it. 4. Morocco will be very hard on the hotel front. FIFA will pre-book most name brand hotels out and Riads will over-inflate their prices. 5. Tickets to matchups in Morocco will not be too difficult, Barcelona/Madrid will be the most difficult. 6. Flights/transportation will be a non-issue. The budget airlines will raise prices and getting to Morocco will be more expensive than usual, but overall I don't expect major issues there.
Sorry bro, that violence-upon-failure is behavior exclusive of sore losers, not a continental-wide culture. Some players know how to acknowledge a better opponent, some others don't. South Americans are accustomed of how ARG players will react upon defeat, that I would give you.
