We had a ticket check to get into the fanzone at SoFi, and then another to get into the stadium. There was no merch in the fanzone, which surprised me. But we did get our bracelets!

Once inside the stadium, the store and food lines were ridiculous, and none of us wanted to miss the game to go shopping. After the game, there was no line but very little left -- we bought a game scarf for an inflated $40, but it came with a Visa shopping bag, which in itself is a work of art and probably the best merch they've got.

There's no final ticket scan before the stadium concourse entrance. The final ticket scan happens BEFORE the food trucks/BOFA/Michelob stands, on what would typically be part of the MetLife parking lot. To get into the fan zone with all of that stuff, you have to have had scanned your ticket already.

Once you're in that area, you can head into the stadium concourse with no further scans. Within the stadium concourse, there's FIFA stores, I think in every level, although they can be somewhat tricky to find (and volunteers are not super helpful lol). These FIFA stores tend to be less crowded than the main one in the fan zone area (with all the trucks and tents), and tend to take a little longer before selling out.

Ah I see, thank you! Yeah there were multiple ticket checks at both SoFi and Levi's, and they said we couldn't go back to the fan zone after going through the second ticket check at the concourse entrance, so that's great to know!

    I see, that's interesting!

I saw that the at MetLife doors open at 11am this time, and that you're encouraged to be at your seat at 1.30pm for the closing ceremony.

If you want to have a shot at merch, arrive at ~10.30am to the stadium and stand at the gates until they open. Then dash to the FIFA store; if the FIFA store close post ticketing gates (to the left of them, near the bathroom trailers) looks like it has a decent-ish line, go there and get your stuff. Otherwise, go into the stadium concourse and look for the stores there. Merch will likely run out quickly.

This is if you want the scarves and shirts. If you want the BofA bracelets, go stand in that line immediately; just know it'll be hours before you get to the end of the line, so you'll likely have to choose between scarves/t-shirts or the bracelet.

The Coke cups you can more easily get later.

    Good luck!

Potential drop happening. Was on the page and got booted out into waiting room. Not sure if it would be for 103 or 104. But worth logging in and waiting to see if captcha comes on.

Michel Platini did not play in that match. I believe that Manuel Amoros was captain for that one. Most of the other French stars also rested.

England in the final would have doubled the price.

There were a bunch of really good Category 2 tickets too, but they were not cartable. And I was in when the drop happened. Must have been bots. I think a lot of scalpers will be left holding the bag the day of the match if they don’t drop prices.

You mean more than now? Cheapest is almost 10k for Argentina. Can’t believe people are paying these prices. Specially with the terrible Air quality in NY.

Argentines are gobbling up tickets. There’s more buyers than available tickets. Only the extreme greedy Touts will be left holding tickets. But people are paying almost 10k right now .

I believe there were about 1200 tickets in the marketplace prior to the Eng-Arg semifinal. Now there are about 600, and there have also been a couple of drops from FIFA that are now gone (I didn't even see the CAT 2 that you mentioned as they must have been sold very quickly). Prices have risen as we approach matchday.

M103 FIFA moved front Cat 1's (FV $2k or so) same exact seats to resale at $1065, and as I was about to grab them, they changed them to $805

Long shot but if anyone knows someone selling 2-3 tickets for tmw’s final at Face Value I’ll take them! I had 2 extra tickets for a friend and sold them below face value next week and now he wants to go and everything has gone up in price by a few grand!

Argentina has a chance to do something very rare though. It is not easy to win back-to-back.
They would also be the first team in history to win four consecutive major trophies.

I agree. I underestimated people’s willingness to pay crazy prices. I am afraid this may be the new reality going forward. There are now very few tickets left on resale for the final, so prices are probably going up further. And FIFA seems to be releasing only Category 1 and Front tickets in cartable quantities. So, $11K minimum.

At least the heavy rain today should clear up the air quality for tomorrow.

We were fortunate to get some pretty good Category 2 tickets this morning. So, this will be my 8th Final.

Does anyone have a recommendation for stadium transportation?

Personally taking the $20 shuttle from Columbus Circle (red route). I believe they get a dedicated lane, so ~1hr to stadium. Plan to get on the earlier busses (before 11a).

Actually, we got the tickets from someone we know for basically face value (and we have a friend who works for FIFA). But if you are looking to buy, be really careful because there are a lot of scammers! There may be more scammers than people actually possessing tickets to sell. And it is a lot of money to risk. Obviously, you probably have thought of that already. Personally, I would pay quite a bit more on the official site as opposed to saving some money buying from a stranger. The instant delivery from the official site saves a lot of stress.
