That's legitimate. FIFA knows what they can do when it is in America. The question that they will have and will pay handsomely for the answer to is will Europeans pay the same premiums.

Europeans as a whole may not be, but if the demand is higher in Europe, which people here have told me it will be, then the questions is will the high dollar European demand match the casual American fan in what they are willing to pay.

It is also a double edge sword for Europeans. If they match the ticket prices and whatnot that this World Cup did, then Europe will get a lot more World Cups and FIFA won't feel as compelled to come back to the USA as often. However, if they fall short, 2038 seems like a lock to come back to the USA.

This is such a tough questions because I personally have been at different stages of life for my World Cups... Nothing will ever compare to going to Brazil in my 20s; and if Brazil hosted again, it would probably be near the bottom if they incidentals I had to deal with then were still there (hotel/flight/transport issues); yet those problems when I was young were fine.

    My personal ranking is:
    1. Brazil
    2. USA
    3. Russia
    4. South Africa
    5. Qatar

I'm pretty confident CAT 1 and CAT 2 will be available below the latest FV. They aren't moving. The big question mark is what the floor is going to be for CAT 3. If I were to bet, I would say $4K-$5K if you're lucky. I don't see sub-$4K happening.

In terms of 2038, I think we will be heading back.

in terms of cost for 2030, even if they dont have the same high prices (a big if), can you see a return to the same price for each match in the same round?
It wasnt just the price level that was the issue, it was all the rest of the c**p. Not being able to finalise logistics until March (some stooges defended that). Multiple 'sales' and 'presale' phases. Etc

It has ben an exhausting process.

Oh all that fluff isn't going anywhere. Prices could be lower, but all those stupid phases probably made them more money or they wouldn't have done it. I too miss the days of 1 lottery and 1 fcfs pre draw, 1 lottery post draw and then fcfs.

I've only been to two World Cups (Brazil and Can/US/Mex) and Brazil just hit different. Similarly I was in my 20's, just graduated college and was travelling with friends. Brazil FELT like a WC. It seemed like the entire country came to a standstill for the tournament, and iconic places like the Maracanã, Copacabana Beach, Salvador, and São Paulo felt as though they were built for moments like this.

This WC has captured that atmosphere in pockets, but it's too geographically spread out to create that same feeling everywhere. The high prices and the oversized, somewhat sterile American football stadiums also take away from the experience a bit. My favorite moments so far during this WC have been seeing Mexico vs. Czechia in Mexico City and Canada vs. Qatar in Vancouver.

I'm hopeful that 2030 will have similar vibes to Brazil.

My only other WC has been Russia and even that felt different. Fan zones were packed for every game, there was fans all over. And I was there after the group stage was over.

COSM is sold out. Anyone have other suggestions for watching the first semi-final in Atlanta?

    EDIT: not anymore.

Another ticket queue at the LMS. FIFA dropping some more tickets possibly?

edit: doesn't seem like they did, unless it was for the england-argentina semi because i wasn't checking that before.

Some M102 Cat3, not sure how many, I was out and discord scanner doesnt show anything, but saw screenshot on a whatsapp group.

Finally traveling to M102, I have to go from Miami to Philly, make a connection and down to Atlanta... I know but that was the only option I had where the price was not an arm and leg and I even bough it the Egypt game :D,

Now trying to find a Cat3 ticket price range for the match.

I have officially decided to watch the Final at home with friends and family so will be canceling my hotel reservation (Aloft, Secaucus Junction). I’m not sure if it can be transferred to someone else or if anyone would even want it, but figured I would at least mention it.

I live in Oregon so don’t know anything about New Jersey other than people told me the easiest train station to travel to MetLife was Secaucus Junction via NJ Transit.

I booked this room last August for Friday 7/17 through Sunday 7/20. I don’t think it’s a sexy destination/location and maybe it’s not even the best for transport with all the shuttles and everything that has materialized over the last 9 months, but figured I would at least mention it here if anyone had thoughts.

Texas Live = purchase your General Admission (per person) tickets in advance before they sell out on game days. Also, based on availability, you can book/reserve a table. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

everyone else taking the train to the match has to transfer at this station to get to the stadium, so yes, it's ideal for the train since you're already there. It's also easy to get to the city from there, so while yes, it's not very sexy, it is a good spot.

I'm trying to log in to check the LMS portal and marketplace and I keep getting a screen that says "bad request - A critical request has been detected and therefore blocked." and it shows an IP address and reference number. Anyone know what this is about?

Yes, the FIFA anti-bot (which it doesn't work for real bot), after you check a couple of games it may block you (ban your IP). Sometimes using a different browser or incognito works, but better to change the IP (use your phone as a hotspot).

Does anyone know whether 148-149 sections are for France or Spanish fans?

Left side of the map is France. So 148 is likely France support (if they show up)

Thinking about a super last minute trip down to Atlanta for the game tomorrow. What are the chances we can make a 7:53 pm flight back home after a 3 pm kickoff? (we have clear precheck etc)
