Very impressive half by the USA. The movement when attacking and the intensity of their pressing looked very good.

 

I said USA in semis about 2 years ago. But it’s early. This teams road is easy. (Belgium is crap and Spain is perennial losers; 2010 only exception ages ago.)

Has any of you seen whether some tickets are released on LMS the day of the Match, my mom suddenly asked to go to M28 and I don't know if I am going to be able to get more tickets for that game

 

Loved those Spain teams. 2008-2012 especially. Torres 2008 goal vs Germany. Puyol header vs Germany in 2010. My favorite memory of them though was the pk shootouts. 2012 vs Portugal and 2013 confed cup vs Italy.

Spain is the only team of the top 4 projected winners that also played in USA 1994.

In 1994, France was ko'd by Bulgaria in qualifiers. England came in 3rd in their qualifying group to the Netherlands and Norway. Portugal came in third in their group behind Switzerland and Italy.

Spain made the r16 that year. Beating Switzerland in the r16. But were then ko'd by Italy in the quarterfinals. Italy then ko'd Bulgaria in the semifinals. The ref chosen for this game was French. A funny choice because Bulgaria had Ko'd France in the qualfiers. If you ever hear an Italian complain about Korea reffing in 2002... just bring the French ref up in 1994 lol.

I think Spain will go down to the USA if they meet in LA. They have a history of going down to the local favorite. England 1996. South Korea 2002. Portugal 2004. Russia in 2018. Morocco in 2022. TBH i fear for Lamine after he waved that flag. Will respect "no politics" though it did add to the intrigue of the USA World Cup.

Friends - my connecting flighr to Vancouver via Dallas was delayed by 2.5 hours.
As it happens, worked in my favour as I could watch all of the USA match. A very good start for them and welcome. Good to see the hosts have solid results.
Hopefully this is my only delayed flight.

Enjoyed the Canada game but please can someone tell the people of Toronto that there is a second half. For the first 1-15 minutes of the second half the opposite main stand was all but empty. Obviously did not pay enough for their tickets.

 

Same happens at Wembley. They should just ban corporate tickets. Or at least not give them tickets down to the front in the middle opposite the main cameras.

 

Yes I agree in the middle couple of hospitality blocks at Wembley but this was the whole damned stand.lower tier!

 

We played each other in March and we won 5-2.

 

I have a bus ticket, but I’m going to give it away. The bus takes up half my day, and I want to be in control of my own match day. I’ll probably explore the mall there earlier as well.
