Supposedly SoFi is configurable to 80K all-seater and 100K with standing capacity, but I don't know how that works, and they've never done that. They're going a bit below the normal NFL capacity, as they took out seats to widen the pitch, and probably are designating some space for media.
FIFA requires everyone needs to be seated. No standing capacity. Hospitality and FIFA’s disability absorb some. And Sofi had to eliminate a few for pitch space
Yes, it fell out of the running for hosting the final because it couldn't reach 80K after all the adjustments. Maybe they'll go crazy with capacity for next year's Super Bowl.
With transfer trough the app the receiver can only sent the ticket back to the original sender. Resale or other transfers are not possible. With transfer trough the website/marketplace the receiver can do the same things with the ticket as the sender, which means reselling or transferring to anyone. But there are all kinds of differences for not general tickets, such as PMA, etc.
Doesn’t seem like true price discovery is being allowed to happen, right? Anyone else think there’s a per game floor in place on fifa resale and that they’re requiring 3p resale sites to also have a per game floor?
I wondered why so many matches get in price has remained so stable, very strange for a marketplace. Very few if any tickets on fifa resale are going under the market price. Would love to see a pic posted of what it says when you try to resell tickets at the lowest price, if it doesn’t let you. Btw seatsidekick is a good resource but when it doesn’t update sometimes for 24h it’s basically useless. Weird how it doesn’t scan in real time
All the publicly available real-time scanners seem to have stopped working in the last week or so, unfortunately
Still no vibes in Mexico?! I feel lucky that I attended the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and experienced the best atmosphere ever. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
I saw Qatar Switzerland at $120 for hours yesterday... But couldn't see / click the tickets on the resale marketplace. So probably the real floor is invisible. Makes sense business wise. There's a lot of people on reddit saying their undercut sale is not showing up. Dynamic pricing is apparently only for price increases. Well played.
I always remember the guy manning the oval basketball hoop game at the Alameda County Fair when I was young. Balls were $6/3. I asked him if I could get one ball for $2. He said "kid, this is a fair... Not a welfare". Lol
I kinda don't understand why FIFA won't just take the extra revenue with late-in-the-game cheaper sales.
Maybe the same reason they don't put tickets at a price that sells out. Maximum profit is obtained selling a "luxury product" with a high floor. There's also the backlash they'd get from people who paid higher prices. In the end though who knows... It is what it is. C'est la vie
As was discussed before, 4 hrs before the game ticket sales will stop... Stubhub closed sales for Mexico South Africa @ cdmx already only "103 events in all locations" now
Yeah but the last day or two you'd think you'd just gobble up the extra revenue with cheaper seats. Who cares about the backlash? I wonder if they're just pulling those and funneling them to corp sponsors at the lower costs vs open market. They're definitely monetizing them.
