It's the left side of the stadium. I'm in section 307 with a USA Supporter Value Tier. If they dont sell enough seats they'll likely push everyone down to the 100s and 200s. But still on the left side.
As we don’t know how many tickets have actually been sold, it’ll be near impossible to model what impact this unbelievable rise in transportation costs will have on ticket revenue going forward (for unsold tickets, and for FIFA’s 30% cut of resale). Actually one group has access to this info: Fifa itself, who I am sure are running the numbers right now. If FIFA end up coughing up money to help pay for (‘subsidize’) transport here, I bet FIFA will say it was ‘because of the fans’ when in reality it was because the dampening impact on ticket demand as a result of having the cost of train tickets hit the stratosphere would hurt their own bottom line.
Huge thanks for this. I see now, there are tickets available on the resale platform in the supporter section, but, holy ******** the price. $2,200 is the cheapest I see. I mean, I may pull the trigger anyway but that is quite a lot of coin. They must dump more of these later at some point?
sales appear to be lagging for this match. I'm going to assume closer to kick off FIFA may dump another batch of supporter tickets to fill seats. But nothing official. This match will likely experience falling prices close to kickoff.
The suspended animation in the resale market for the KO games is a bit of a drag. I have an eye on match 78 (2E/2L) in Dallas. That could be Germany/France or Ivory Coast/Bolivia (plenty of other permutations). In the case of the former, would be a struggle to get a (reasonably priced) ticket, but some of the other combos would surely see softer prices. (Unless Haaland was playing perhaps). Anyway - will be on of the matches I will be watching like a hawk DURING the tournament. Maybe I just book for Dallas anyway and, at worst, watch it in Cosm. Texas ambivalence aside, is Dallas a good City for tourists?
First of all. By the look of things - if you are coming from NYC, it sounds like your round trip in time will at least 4 hours when you take into account travel to and from and the screening at the perimeter. (4 hours sounds optimistic as I write this out. It can be hot as well). So, unless you have the stomach of a camel, you will have to consume liquid, unless we can take bottles in.. That being said - some of these stadia are palaces in comparison to what we see in Europe. Think more along the Tottenham model. So choice of food and drink will be fine. The cost..............
An interesting point you make there. You would think some of the hotels would put on their own coaches. Maybe worth emailing in advance. They know where their customers are coming from.
2026. The World Cup that keeps taking. Even if it was a good tournament Qatar left a horrid taste in the mouth. Like all of the World Cups I have been really looking forward to this but even now it gets less and less appetizing by the day for so many reasons. Maybe the next one will get back to what it should be all about...or maybe not.
Not sure I’d bet money on neither Germany nor France winning their group, but you never know. Though if that’s the case, there should probably be a few supporter tickets from either team up for sale. Given their R32 game if they win the group is in Boston and NYNJ, respectively, I could imagine many fans have made travel plans for those cities but did not make alternative arrangements for Dallas.
Who would pay $30 for a beer? It is supposed to be an enjoyable drink and being violated in the wallet is not enjoyable. There are implications to this for getting people in the stadium early. If people have nothing to do except stand there or pay hugely over the odds for food and drink why arrive early? People will want to arrive much later than they otherwise would. Eat and drink somewhere nearby, if possible.
You forgot that a lot of the venues are in the middle of nowhere in America...it ain't your urban stadium in Europe surrounded by shops and restaurants...the one and only thing you see is a never ending car park...that's why people barbecue there...
Yeah - will just have to see. Cant see myself making another trip to Dallas so may just pull the trigger on the.logistics anyway.
So truthfully I am wondering what you might save if you park at Newark Airport (EWR) using their monorail to connect to NJ transit for 2 stops over to Secaucus and then transfer there to get to the stadium?
I'd suggest starting at Newark Penn or even Elizabeth rather than airport, since the airport tickets all include "airtrain" fees which bump up the ticket prices. Has it been confirmed that the $150 trains are only for those starting from NYC?
ah yes...thanks, had completely forgotten about those "airtrain" fees...as I understand from their statements the $150 trains originate from NY/Penn, but they can't really guarantee any service on any of the other lines during gamedays.
Come on... if the 1994 WC final was in New Jersey, there wouldn't have been a $150 train either (adjusting for inflation). And I'm pretty sure if the 2026 final was in Pasadena, they would've fleeced fans big time as well. Rose Bowl is very far from the touristy parts of LA - a city with worse public transport than NY. Like way worse! And that presents an opportunity to rip off fans through parking and transportation. You think LA/California politicians would pass up that opportunity?
How a city like NYC can't guarantee service is crazy. Big "FU" to all the other millions of commuters in the area I guess...
I'm also hoping it puts a damper on NYC ticket prices but realistically they would only drop by $80 at the most given that is the bus cost, right?. And given the matches in NYC are all attractive to very attractive and you have a large base of wealthy residents, I don't think we'll see cheap deals even near gametime....
Well, not exactly sure how many trains that NJ Transit is going to need to divert on gamedays, but I do know that the Secaucus spur over to MetLife is only a single track deal, although it is only a few miles or so.
while I agree with your premise...the spur from Secaucus over to MetLife was built in 2009 I think for the Super Bowl so in 1994 it would have been a really long walk with no sidewalks...
Don't think so. The first time I went to "Giants stadium" was 2002 and the only option that I was aware of was the bus. But the bus was cheap (don't recall how much exactly, but it wasn't an issue). And it would have still been the same price if a WC final occurred then and there.
To the people thinking of getting to Secaucus directly to try to save money I encourage you to peruse the official website: https://njtworldcup.com/njtransit-ticket-process/ Maybe I’m misunderstanding things but to me this is clear: if you’re going to the MetLife with the train on game day, you’re paying $150 regardless of where you’re coming from. Round-Trip NJ TRANSIT rail tickets from any NJ TRANSIT rail station to NYNJ Stadium for matchday travel will be available starting May 13 for a flat rate of $150 per ticket.
