Yeah, this is part of their scam. Tricking you thinking you can buy the minimum price when it is not available at all hoping you will give in to buy the more expensive one.
48/53 is easy. 7 hours by car between Guadalajara and Mexico City. No border control. The problem is when you depend on flights. Otherwise, by car, it shouldnt be a big problem anywhere in the world. For example, 41/47 is really difficult, there is a United flight at 6 am from La Guardia to Houston (kick-off 12:00 Houston). 41/45 should be a walking in a park, 41/46 a little bit difficult by car because of the distance and border control.
I've gotten one group game for $190 and another $275 Canadian in Toronto. I've been to three other world cups with more reasonable ticket prices. So def not a great deal in my world view but justifiable enough to pull the trigger.
Nice, those are some pretty good deals! I’m from Toronto as well, and the atmosphere should be incredible. It’s just a shame that when the World Cup finally comes to Canada, FIFA decides to start charging up the a$$ for tickets.
Ticket Transfer - Finally started moving tickets to the Group from the one with the ticket success. We got an email from FiIFA saying the transferor saying it had been done and to click on resell/ transfer ticket. Nothing has appeared yet on ticket page is this normal? How long ought it to take?
You need to go on the transferee's home page rather than the default page that appears when you login.
I think most of the "football fans" here, including myself, don't really feel the need to pay 2 or 3 times more just for the front row. We tend to prefer seats that offer a better overall view of the pitch, even if the price is the same. However, I know a Korean fan who sat in the very first row of a Category 3 section (behind the goal) during the Qatar World Cup. He was running a personal YouTube channel at the time, and the footage he captured there—along with him being caught on the official TV broadcast several times—was quite impressive. He eventually became a successful influencer and is even heading to this tournament through FIFA sponsorship. People like him, or those aspiring to be like him, might actually prefer the front row just to get more screen time. That said, the Korea supporters' group bought the cheapest available tier this time, so I doubt that will be an issue for them. Another case is when people care more about a specific player than the sport itself. While I haven't seen this much at World Cups, some fans will pay a massive premium for the front row just to be close to their favorite player—much like K-pop fans trying to snag the front row at a concert. FIFA might be targeting this specific demand by pricing the front-row seats so aggressively.
It is an interesting take but why such a huge mark up?! I do hope the nice Swiss man gets the sort of reception at the opening game that we all hope he does.
I feel like FIFA is just thinking, "Let's see if they’ll actually buy this." If it sells, great; if not, they can always just re-categorize them back to standard Category 1. It wouldn’t surprise me if those seats were specifically set aside for influencers or hospitality packages anyway. In fact, I suspect the Korean influencer I mentioned might end up in one of those very seats.
Yes I understand that but at the end of the day they are providing a tournament for fans and players from around the world for the good of the game and this chancer attitude and profiteering gets more and more repugnant by the week.As I mentioned 6 months ago they are making it up as they go along and how I miss seeing something like the attached from 2014 rather than the stream of rubbish we have to endure now.WC2014-Big-Drop-June-4.jpg (JPEG Image, 900 × 1273 pixels)
I couldn't agree with you more. Russia was my first away World Cup, and I had such a great experience there that I decided to go to Qatar as well. But this time, the "profiteering" feels so blatant that it’s actually making me uncomfortable. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually miss the days when I was struggling just to find a hotel in Qatar—at least that felt like a challenge for a fan, whereas this just feels like being exploited.
Category 1 for France vs Norway was $770 face value at the beginning of the LMS. I can see them asking $1,000 or even up to $1,200 for a front row seat. But $2,350 is insane.
I remember those drops, which were so generous in hindsight. Looking at the category 4 tickets (which I think were for locals only) they seem like a gift in comparison to today.
Yes, good points. We can also add that in the US, the closer to the field of play the seat is, the more expensive it is. This is true across all sports, even when all of them except maybe basketball provide a worse view than higher up seats. Contrast that with Europe, where some of the cheapest are always down behind the goal. So selling the front rows for higher price is a normal expectation in the US. US Soccer even does this for their friendlies. I’m not going to pay 5x face value just to be in the very front, but I can see the value of being close to the field if you’re only attending a few games. You can get a sense of the speed and skill of the game, as opposed to higher up where you’re basically getting the same view as on TV.
It's ridiculous. For US-Paraguay in Los Angeles tickets 2 rows from the top are $1,940. I've sat up there. You almost need oxygen.
By any chance does anyone know where the England and Croatia supporter sections are when the meet in Dallas?
It seems it is assumed here that the home team is on the left looking at the stadium map. If you look at the resale marketplace map there will probably be some sections behind the goals on the upper levels where no tickets are currently available, that's most likely is the supporter section sold through the local federation. So I assume 246-248, 345-350, 455-460 are the likely sectors where the English fans will be. Just my 2 cents I might be wrong
My England supporter value tier seat is in block 349, my brother’s one is supporter premium tier and he’s in block 148. So England supporters on the left of the stadium map and I assume Croatia is on the right.
In Qatar thru a contact at our FA I arranged at the last minute 2xcat3 tix for another friend for the Australian v Argentina r16 match. They ended up being very 'front row' Aussie end. Cost $A165 each fv. Try that shit now lol..
Regarding airlines, Spirit is in bankruptcy proceedings, so use at your own risks. Funny though, they have the third-best on-time arrivals of all US airlines. Frontier is not in bankruptcy, but maybe they should be. They are the worst in cancellations and on-time departures. I highly recommend Alaska as a serious airline. They're part of the Oneworld alliance. I suspect the two other Mexican airlines mentioned are probably doing a better job than most US airlines which, if you travel internationally, you know they're bad... As to flying day of, I am not doing it. I have booked a flight to Dallas and I arrive on Monday night for a game on Wednesday at 3pm. Why, because if sh"ee"t happens, I have 24h to still get there. It's American Airlines, not great, 2nd worst on-time performance after Frontier... tells the story! Last but not least beware of very inclement weather in the US, especially Central and East Coast with cracking thunderstorms that keep flights on the tarmac for a long time (one of the few reasons so many flights are delayed in the US)
Just a reminder for those who are not familiar with the US and its weather and traffic that nothing is granted. Please read the article in the link, as feedback from the Club World Cup. "Buyer beware" when it comes to flights or booking Uber/Lyft or taking public transportation which is dismal in some cities, like Arlington, TX (ATT stadium) https://www.espn.com.au/football/st...2025-fifa-club-world-cup-weather-traffic-more
Going to dash from Philly game on the 4th and the fireworks, to Mexico City game fly on the morning of 5th in the eve and get morning flight to Dallas on the 6th for that game! Wonderful adrelain rush I will get. But, I will have 4 hours to show my son Mexico City - any ideas? Zocalo (Where James Bond blew it up?) and Axtec temple and no doubt cool fan zone - any other tips ? My memory is the traffic is so bad there may need to see in one area only.
