The pricing correction is awesome. Hopefully not too many dopes fall for the "front row" scam. Everything points to lower prices. 1) Media calling FIFAs pricing "scammy" 2) Hospitality "upgrades" 3) zero local interest. Most soccer fans I've spoken to have resigned themselves watch on TV Glad I bought all my flights and booked my hotels a year ago. Tickets will come. Patience
Today my wife asked me if I was aware of the FIFA ticket category scams. She saw a story in the local news and some of her coworkers asked her about it. She’s been to 5 world cups with me!!! . Bit of history; A friend told her about BigSoccer before 2006; signed up and I took over the account. My point is : The local sentiment here in LA is moving towards… it’s a scam and I’m watching on TV.
A quick google search let me know how to avoid ticket scams: 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket scams by purchasing exclusively through FIFA.com/tickets, the official source. Official tickets are mobile-only via the FIFA app. Beware of third-party sites, high-priced, or early unofficial sales, as legitimate tickets are released close to the tournament. Key Tips to Avoid Scams: Use Official Channels: Only buy from FIFA.com/tickets, FIFA.com/hospitality, or official partners. Digital Tickets Only: Official tickets are delivered via the FIFA app; anyone offering printed tickets or screenshots is likely a scammer. Verified Resale: Only use the official FIFA Ticket Resale Marketplace for secondary tickets. Payment Safety: Always use a credit card for better fraud protection. Price Check: If a price seems too good to be true, it likely is, or conversely, exceptionally high prices on unofficial sites are predatory. Guys beware of those high priced third party sellers!
I bought tickets for Norway -Iraq and yesterday I saw someone was selling a cat2 at 50 dollars less than face value on the market place which already includes a15% fifa tax…I spent 500 dollars… I think the day before cat1 tickets will sell at half the price or less..This price bubble is gonna burst for 3/4 of group stage games
Actually I just had a look at a few games in the market place and the availability of seats have greatly increased since yesterday. Not sure why....There are 2160 tickets on sale for Norway Iraq..1k for England Ghana, 1065 for the big game Scotland Brazil...those are huge numbers which will bring down prices big time in the resale market in due time So relax and wait for the time when sellers will panic and take big losses on their face value
Not entirely the reason, but they enabled the resale and transfer of the recent purchases yesterday, so naturally people who bought first row seats in the days beforehand then listed them for even more
The increase is too big for the tickets released yesterday which were very few actually and most still unsold as I keep seeing the same seats over and over
I still can't get my head around wanting to be in the front row. You have a great view when the action is right in front of you but terrible views of the far corners. It isn't basketball or ice hockey. 10-25 rows back is much better. Front row behind the goal is awful. Do they just want to be on TV? Perhaps holding a cardboard sign begging for a shirt? Seats immediately around the manager and substitute benches makes sense as a premium area. That would be interesting.
I bought a Cat 3 ticket for M72 and was given a seat by FIFA that was literally three rows away from the top of the stadium in Atlanta. I don't need to be that close, but in an NFL stadium, that's just too far away for me. With it being DR Congo-Uzbekistan, I knew I could just get another ticket whenever and would rather pick my seat. Because of all of that, I listed it resale on the Marketplace. I thought because of the matchup and the solo seat at the top that it might be a tough sell. It was listed for $25 less than I paid for it. To my surprise, it sold eight hours later! I thought it would sit while people would wait for the eventual price drop.
Did you get these during the Visa presale? If so, at $25 less than what you paid for it, it's probably the cheapest ticket anyone's seen for this game (or any) for a while. Congrats on selling it quickly though! That being said given that you listed it for $25 less than you bought it for + the FIFA 15% fee, it means you probably lost a fair bit of money on it? I guess that could be better than sitting nearly on the roof lol.
I got in the release after the Visa Presale, so the price I paid is face value now. I didn't think it would sell because it is one of those "dregs" matches you could wait for. Realistically, I'm fine with getting less money to get it sold now as I'm not that concerned with sunk costs when prices will be changing until June for this match, presumably. It's just one of those things when you buy blind hoping to get Portugal-Colombia, but get the other group match.
WTF is going on with the ticket prices in the LMS?? I look at a match and the map shows a section in yellow with tickets for $660 or $790, but no seats, or it shows a seat and then says the price is $1980. What is this? I know I overpaid for my tickets in the 2nd sales lottery but this is ridiculous.
FIFA is running some quirky little experiments to test out what is people’s willingness to pay. I agree with @simoesm - this is for influencers, artists, and other various characters who benefit from increased visibility. Just like how you see Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner on courtside seats at Knicks game. Soccer was supposed to be different from this though…
I'm going to 48/53, I know I'm definitely risking it as they're 1 day apart but that's part of the adrenaline!!
Make sure that with Volaris and Viva you buy a seat, if they oversell the flight, the ones who already have a seat are the less likely to be left behind
