Why would FIFA do this really? They have their money from the original purchase, they're going to get admin fees from both sides, and sellers set prices where they won't want to take a loss.

If FIFA lowers a Cat 3 ticket for Algeria-Jordan to $60 in May, let's say, the sellers on the marketplace are going to have to adjust, not FIFA. They will get less admin fees, but they won't care if the non-marketplace tickets are somewhat selling. Only the sellers who bought before now are going to get hurt if they drop prices.

They’re still holding unsold tickets. If the marketplace is lowering floors they’re going to have to lower prices in each drop. I don’t think FIFA’s ready for a price war with its own marketplace . Ticketmaster does this. You can’t lower floors below what they set as a floor.

The whole thing is insulting and completely out of touch with reality.
I think this bubble will burst and a lot of games will have tons of empty seats.

Anyone that bought from Croatia's association that already received tickets in their FIFA accounts? I still have nothing in mine

:D This is a replay of the 2003-2008 housing market. Or the 1987-1993 comic book craze.

"People were buying comic books like junk bonds" -- Todd Mcfarlane

We probably hit some kind of peak here with global interest in the game. World Cup being the premier sporting event. A host country not far from the peak of it's economy. Probably didn't help price wise that one of the most visible players ever won it last time and the final from the 75th minute on was one of the most exciting times in recent sports memory. The only good thing is now... my friend that always said he didn't watch soccer and soccer is the 5th sport... now watches soccer lol

Just have your cash ready boys... Someone is gonna get caught "holding the bag" minutes before kickoff... At least for Levi's games.

There will be no reimbursements this time... As unlike the club world cup 2025... There's no big event in the same host country the next year.

Add to all of this that in 2 months time there will be real issues with gasoline for air travel from Europe and Asia and you have all the makings of a big drop in demand. There are probably 15 group stage games with real demand…for most games people are holding tickets with 0 real resale value

I honestly think it's irrelevant at this point. Even if they haven't sold 20% of tickets (which would be absurd), they have already made several times more money on the first 80% than any other world cup in history. And the constant churn of resale profits has made the difference for all the remaining sales prices a rounding error in terms of overall profit.

Agree, but digital cash. I don't foresee any selling occurring in person like you'd witness near the ticket collection centers in Moscow & Doha.

I paid <$300USD for a good sideline lower level for Barcelona-Atletico Madrid second leg next week, it'll be crazy to me if similarly located seat for an average group match goes for that.

If I try to cart a ticket in Marketplace (PAN v CRO), I get an error message saying 'No availability for the requested quantity, see the available field in response for the available quantity.' Does anyone know what's going on there?

And in any case, would I be better waiting until closer to the match to see if prices do drop (as is being suggested on here)?

My experience is yes...wait...some good deals always show up right before the game if it is not a big one...

I think for half the games you'll be able to buy tickets at less than half their face value the day before when people panic as there is no demand and the stadium isn't full. For many games you can already buy tickets 50 dollars less than face value on the official resale platform

In the region of $575-$600 - as they were the cheapest seats I was seeing in the stadium plan (Block 212).

Wait for more supply to kick in, it will give you a decent chance to buy at fair value or find someone here to sell it to you at face value and It will naturally lower prices in the marketplace as more supply kicks in. Right now is probably the worst time to buy,

I think Panama Croatia is a good example of a game that almost on the level where very soon going to suddenly have hundreds of tickets for sale in the LMS shop. We saw it yesterday's drop with matches of similar or worse demand, that had "front row" category tickets sold the day prior. Even though it's in Toronto the small venue. Keep an eye on it. Maybe there's another today in two or three hours time, otherwise another day. Can't be too far off

Picked them manually or used the best selection thing? I have a feeling carting manually gives you a better chance

Haiti vs Scotland showing availability. I go in to see. $500 tickets, not bad? I click on add 2. Doesn't work. I click on add 1; it adds these:
    Block Lower Tier - Block 116 / Row 20 / Seat 8
    1,250.00 USD

    Another day of FIFA shenanigans.

It has been like that for the past 2 days when they introduced the "first row" bullshit.

As a Croatian living in Toronto... these tickets are in crazy demand. I agree I'd wait, but I know one buddy who paid a friend of his 800 for CAT 3, and another who paid 900 on the resale for CAT 1..... both which i think is ridiculous. Makes my 250 CAT 3 from the visa presale seem like a steal. People will pay (almost) anything for these.

It is always like that a few FOMO buyers at the beginning but then everything settles down...most people aren't willing to splash 1k for a group stage come on...And in here a lot of people will eventually find face-value tickets to resell honestly or to swap...this community is always very helpful.

Still a long way to go, no need to panic buy at insane prices right now

I've the Discord notifications set up for this match now anyway so I should be in the know when there is another drop. Thanks Larry & Bcn.

Just in case (for some reason), I'm unable to get a ticket off the Marketplace or LMS, when would be the best time to start asking around on here if anyone has a FV ticket for that game?
