My last job before I retired was working for the biggest PR agency in the world and I never heard anyone use that term in all my years there! Learned something new from BSF today, thanks @tedmak I've got to get it into conversation now
Anyone remember the latest prices in the resale platform for the first Norway game in Boston and for England Ghana?
Nice one, and based on my memory of the games that I was regularly checking on the marketplace, the prices are spot on!
I just came back from the Winter Olympics and they made a big deal about names on tickets and having your ID/passport ready to get into an event. We were never checked once and from what I heard, this did not happen almost everywhere during the Games. Imagine the World Cup will be the same.
I’m planning for a 1-day trip NY-Boston for England-Ghana 23rd June. Is it worth going NY-Providence-Foxborough instead of NY-Boston-Foxborough? As 1st option is 50 minutes less. If Yes, than how to make Prov-Fox part? GoogleMaps doesn’t show anything straight. Only through Boston. It was discussed already in this thread, but no clear answer was given.
For the games at Foborough parking will be severely reduced at the stadium. Train tickets go on sale April 8th and what I've read on other forums it's best to buy those tickets the day they go on sale. I couldn't find anything clear about train travel from Providence to Foxborough, but I know they run trains for Patriots games and concerts from Providence. I'd be shocked if they didn't do the same thing for the World Cup.
Exactly, important to keep in mind that prices you see on the marketplace - especially those that seem to be stable and not going up - are actually the LOWEST PRICE NOBODY IS WILLING TO PAY at the moment. Because lower prices people saw typically disappeared quickly, so what’s shown is the ceiling of the price range it seems.
yeah, I dont think we're seeing real pricing floors. We'll see Real floors once the full inventory hits the market. Probably a few weeks after the FCFS. Keep in mind seat locations will determine price.
Additionally, seats are not assigned yet. Prices to some games will drop even more CAT 2 and CAT 3 tickets that are assigned to the corners of the stadiums. Not to mention once teams are already qualified for knockouts, many 3rd group games will drop. Plus, some of the round of 32 games will not be contested by high demand teams (for example, I fully expect the USA to win their group thus playing their round of 32 to game in Santa Clara, CA. If something goes wrong during the group phase, they will play somewhere else, thus dropping a lot of demand for that game).
Recently (the past few days), I've used this link https://fwc26-refunds-mgmt.tickets.fifa.com to view all of my tickets. Now, I only see a subset of my tickets. Are others seeing the same thing? I guess the ticket site is in flux again.
https://galavizalbert.github.io/FIFA-RESALE-PRICE/ The data is from Feb 15 and the Marketplace closed on Feb 17. I have been following prices regularly for about 10 games (mostly San Francisco Bay Area) and did a spot check on Feb 15 and another on Feb 17. Some of the games dropped significantly on the 17th like M44 from $291 to $247 (15% drop) and M60 from $460 to $403 (12% drop). Probably some people trying to sell fast before the shutdown. As a point of reference, I also check StubHub prices which are lower than or same as Marketplace for half of the games i follow, so StubHub is a good reference too, though probably not right now since they no longer have the FIFA Marketplace competitive prices to deal with.
Another point of reference reference is RTT sales history - all data is public here https://www.fifacollect.info/tickets/world-cup-2026/sales Some caveats: - There were few Cat 3s issued (only Toronto/SFs/F) - There was a lot of supply of Boston and Houston RTTs - There are some low value transactions where people have bid artificially low
I do think they have been holding back tickets to make people panic and buy those absurdly priced hospitality. A lot of games won't be sold out and prices will crater for those. So as usual, patience will be pay off big time
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...RNLN7Oj9Ys/edit?gid=1483928881#gid=1483928881 This second tab on this document shows FIFA resale prices as of 02/21/2026 before the closure of the marketplace.
I’ve been talking to a lot of locals here in LA. People who love soccer and were hyped before. But the consensus now is they’re watching on TV. Prices are too high. there’s zero hype right now. Whatever hope fans had of landing tickets is gone and they’re not paying current resale. I know fifa believes Americans get hyped late and buy tickets late. But there’s zero marketing, zero buzz. The World Cup song should have been announced by now? All we got was a “meh” poster for 100 day “celebration”. Notably fifa hasn’t said one word on tickets sales. They touted 508 million apps, but nothing on how much they actually sold. a lot of things are off this cycle. It’s starting to feel like the Club World Cup.
Generally I would have said the hype could still come later. I lived in Germany in 2026 and in my recollection the hype only started after the first game; I also think the Euro 2024 hype in Germany started very late. Curious to hear what other people think who lived in a World Cup country at the time it happened. Also, if you think of how few people eventually get tickets to a game, I think the hype doesn’t correlate to stadium access. Everyone in this forum probably is part of a small minority of people who end up going to the stadiums, while most people watch at home or public events. So I’d be carefully optimistic that there may still be a hype among the wider population; but in light of ticket pricing you may be right that there’ll be less of a hype among the “stadium attendance population”. We shall see…
