That is awesome! Congrats! We should theoretically be getting US Soccer emails today (hopefully not everyone here is rejected!)
There are rumors going around that US Soccer is intending to send out notifications today. That's as much as I know! Lol. So take it with a grain of salt but it's hard to imagine it will be after today unless they have some major tech issue
well if this is the reason I didn’t win a damn thing for US so far that would be amazing, but not holding my breath!
@nameerfan out of curiosity, did you get billed automatically already or receive the email notification first?
Well I understand what you're saying but actually the higher starting prices should disuade resellers, as you reduce the profit margin, especially knowing that people in the US are used to buying tickets on StubHub for example at the true market price. So on ticket prices FIFA did the right thing, could have set even higher given their prices are still much lower than the market. One thing that I do question is why they are not releasing more inventory quicker so that prices find their true level quicker, instead they trickled them in to control inventory. Finally, given the PMA success rates for humans, more inventory should have gone that way. Anyways many of these things are in hindsight, but hope they learn for next WC, because this one has been a great economic success but a big failure for normal fans.
We stay make it sound like an auction is the right way of going about things and we wait till the highest prices are reached. This means just the most well off who are very often the least passionate about such events, get the tickets. I am not fan of Glastonbury but they idea of something like that there is horrible.
I think FIFA could have priced their tickets a bit higher and then just kept them steady throughout the whole process. Also, limit the number of tickets any one individual can buy. If they truly wanted to get rid of scalping, they could limit the markup to like 20% or something of the face value price, which on top of the 15% fee, would heavily dissuade resellers. But they did none of that because they're quietly profiting off the massive fees on the resale market.
I can't disagree... There's clearly a lot of ways it can be run. I have no problem with FIFA making money to support what they do, but the idea that every random fan should be happy to spend resale prices because all that extra revenue is basically a charitable contribution is garbage. And that's infantino's argument. Part of their charitable mission should be not to price regular fans out of the world cup, not to milk every last dime they can and say we should be happy because they get to build another soccer field somewhere. Sorry, rant over. Lol.
Me and my son both got 2x$60 tickets each for the Australia v Paraguay game!! Was about go to sleep and saw the email but have woken up again. Will probably wait till seat allocation to see whether we use these tickets or the TST ones we hold. Leftover tix will go to any friends after a ticket for this game. Football Australia have sent out a code, their bank details and you pay direct to them by the 28th Feb. Joining the FA+ program for $100 to apply for Socceroos WC tickets was a good investment in the end. You were only battling for tickets with locals who joined up and not the whole world.
Hi guys, anyone that's got access for the BOFA sale could you please help me with some tix for M53 just saw that the Chase and WF sales won't include non.us games :'(
If any Aussies have an extra ticket or two to the Seattle game, lmk. I have an Aussie friend in Melbourne I'm trying to convince to come to the game since he'll be in the US for a conference near that time, but he may get hung up on tickets.
Some people on the resale platform are just taking the piss… Just saw Cat 2 for M91 being offered for $1.5m … I think FIFA should have capped the maximum price the system allows you to put in.
Email said they would run the $60 lottery first. Non-winners would roll into the general lottery. It feels like they ran this backwards. General lottery first; non winners into the $60 lottery with notification today. Or they just hand picked the winners who will be notified today..
I've also seen tickets listed for millions of dollars. I think it's people trolling the world, exhibiting "you never know!" mentality
The point on maximum tickets is spot on. Previously you could not buy tickets for two matches on the same day. That was relaxed for Qatar because you could do 2 matches and be confident of getting in for KO. For 26 they have the 1 match per day retriction but it needs to he tighter than that. To do 2 matches in 2 dqys is not possible for every combination of stadia, so they could have put a restriction in for that. And yes, 40 tickets per applicant is a joke. It is tournamenr for touts by DESIGN.
The entire model is designed to generate revenue from Touting. FIFA is locking the Marketplace so they can exit high in April. Let's not get desperate for tickets. Prices will come down.
tying for the WF sale now. you had to refresh the page in the email and enter your card number = just spinning now
