Those who did the Wells Fargo presale: should the application be in the same name as the credit card?
Mission accomplished!!! After success in PMAs I now have tix and accom for my and my friends' itinerary: - 18 June Canada v Qatar, Vancouver - 19 June USA v Australia, Seattle - 21 June Egypt v NZ, Vancouver - 22 June playing in mini masters four teams tournament (Canada, Australia, Germany, Malaysia) - 24 June Italy (tbd) v Qatar, Seattle - 25 June Paraguay v Australia, SFO - 30 June R32, Mexico City - 3 July playing in mini masters four teams tournament (Australia, Mexico, England - assuming England make it to the R16) - 5 July R16, Mexico City I started to plan this two years ago. It was always going to be Vancouver and Mexico City no matter what the draw brought. When the draw came out I lucked out with Australia ending up playing in the north east. My major tickets tip would be to get on the FIFA Collect site, as I believe every match is available there, and prices are more often than not cheaper than the FIFA Resale platform. Regarding accommodation I agree with previous posters that accommodation prices will soon soften as people release bookings they now do not need.
Interesting chart. How do you math it ? 3F most likely to play at east coast is the least favorite scenio for me.
It happens with all sports events in North America. Resellers (including those that are not full-time resellers but normal folks that just want to make a quick profit) get nervous closer to the matches and gradually drop prices. That, combined with the fact that most people travelling for the WC will have finalized their travel plans, means prices will drop leading up to match day, then go up again on the day of match once supply gets depleted.
Nice! I have a similar schedule as you (starting in Vancouver for Canada vs. Qatar, hoping to get USA vs. Australia, then flying to Mexico City for M53). You'll have a great time!
We know the best 8 teams in third place qualify for R32. I can’t find it right now but FIFA at some point published a matrix showing for each possible scenario of which groups the best 8 teams are from, whom they’d each meet in the R32, so it’s just based on that.
Fun tool indeed! And I should say that my calculation does not at all factor in which teams are in which groups, so the percentages didn’t change after the draw in December. I just wanted to show that the chances of 3rd teams across the groups to face first teams from other groups are not equally distributed. Most extreme example being groups K and L, where the 3rd teams - if they’re among the best 8 3rd-ranked teams - will automatically play the first team in the respective other group, so 1K vs 3L and 1L vs 3K.
Put in for 6 tickets, got 2. So, I now patiently wait for Fifa to announce the April sales date. 2x Panama - Ghana - NO 2x Panama - Croatia - NO 2x Panama - England YES
What a relief... Got 0 tickets after applying for tickets costing more than a car. I dunno I feel happy tbh. Also held back on the Superbowl tickets $3100 each for lowers today 2 hrs before. I feel great.
Everything around the superbowl felt muted this year.. is it just me? Except for the bad bunny drama.
For the Chase Sapphire tickets tomorrow, their website states the following: "Tickets may not be resold, transferred, or used for commercial/promotional purposes except as permitted under FIFA’s ticketing policies." I am buying tickets for family/friends, will I not be able to transfer them to them? And what if plans change and I want to sell them, will I be stuck with these tickets? Did others have a similar wording with Wells Fargo and other sales?
I think except as permitted under FIFA's ticketing policies means transferring and the marketplace should be good?
“For commercial/promotional purposes”. Don’t run your own promotions for the tickets and you’ll be fine. The Wells Fargo tickets can be resold
I received an email from FIFA confirming my ticket purchase. My tickets are listed on my FIFA account and my credit card has been charged with the amount.
Ended up getting tickets to Canada VS Qatar via PMA, and a partially successful RSD where I got the full set of 4 tickets to Canada vs Switzerland, yet not the RO16 in Vancouver. I’ll have to pray things work out during FCFS (which worked for me in Qatar & Germany as that’s where I got 99% of my tickets for those tournaments) to grab those RO16 tickets. It’s not over yet, we all still have an opportunity. This is such a supportive and helpful community, really wanting everyone here to get what they want!
With the non-FIFA resellers - are there any that promise deliver in the short term? I understand there is a risk they dont deliver and say a StubHub would give a refund. Are there any who will delver within a week, for example. I wouldn't want to be left holding the bag on the day of a match.
It really depends. The risk with these third-party reselling sites is that they don't obligate sellers to transfer the tickets until a few days before the match. Some buyers have received their tickets quickly, but most are still waiting. You WILL get a refund if you don't' get the tickets, but that's probably not worth it for most people when you're booking flights, accommodation, etc.
Is there any reason theres little talk of buying via Stubhub? I'm looking for Can v Euro and Can v Sui plus 2-3 other games in Van and it seems like Stubhub is cheaper than Fifa resale. Often much cheaper because of the "Fifa fee".
