Source is myself. I've kept track of resale prices for SFO since day one, considering how successful I am in lotteries :(
I have another chart for a few other West Coast games as I was looking at driving down to LA or up to Seattle and Vancouver.
    M27 - 18 Jun CDN - VAN
    M32 - 19 Jun USA - SEA
    M59 - 25 Jun USA - LA
    M81 R32 - 1 Jul (Cat 2) - SFO
    M81 R32 - 1 Jul (Cat 3) - SFO
    M73 R32 - 28 Jun (Cat 2) - LA
    M73 R32 - 28 Jun (Cat 3) - LA

The best way, for me, is to hang out in the parking lot for an hour after the game and let the uber traffic die down. For Sofi, there will be street vendors all over the place (and people tailgating). Chill there, make some friends then grab your uber.

Casino is nearby but I bet it will be so packed. But its an option.

Out of interest for someone like me who never uses Ubers how does it work after a game with 70,000+ people. Finding your taxi in a quiet street is one thing but it must be impossible after a game.

Can't recommend going by plane enough. From any bay area airports (sjc, lax, oak) to any LA area airport (Lax, Bur, Sna, lbc, Ont)

There are so many flights and prices right now are super cheap. 1 hour flight, hundred bucks. There are probably 50 per day going those routes.

Man.. unless in NYC or SF.. you just wont see a bunch of taxis driving around in the US outside of airports. Uber/Lyft are so easy after the game from a logistical perspective since they all pickup in one big designated area. Yes there will be a big line but you wont have to walk around looking for a random taxi or your uber.

You could also easily walk a mile? outside the uber gps/fencing zone and grab an uber there. Not a bad idea. Just walk any direction away from the stadium until outside the gps/fence.

But dont forget those bacon wrapped hot dogs from the street vendors outside sofi (and a lot of other stadiums). Grab a beer and a dog and chill while the uber line subsides.

There’s literally a “full illegal bar” outside of Sofi on game days. Cops walk right bye and ignore. We’ll see how the city manages the area during the World Cup. But you’re right; games will end early… what’s the rush?

Yeah i just saw the seating maps of the stadiums. Cat 4 sections were very small.

ATM, cat 4 is only avail thru the various resale marketplaces.

Sounds good but might be different for the World Cup. FIFA will probably have their own bars and large screens on the car park inside the security cordon. Also this will be high summer rather than during the NFL season. I'm sure people will want cold drinks but maybe in the shade for the lunchtime matches.

There's areas near Sofi FIFA can't touch. Walk towards the Target/In-N-Out/Costco. All private parking lots. That's where the non-FIIFA action will be.

Could FIFA actually do something and close the perimeter around? I may be wrong but I kinda remember in the Russian stadiums basically everything was gated for a couple kilometers up to the stadium, walking out of the Rostov area took like 40 mins walking

They’ll already be closing a much larger perimeter than what’s typical for major events at all of these stadiums. But most of them have expansive stadium grounds (including vast parking areas), so even if FIFA only encloses those it’ll still be a very large area. I don’t think they’ll need to expand beyond that, especially if we’re talking about closing private business or major city streets.

However, nothing would surprise me. Seattle and Vancouver stadiums in particular are located downtown and I recall hearing that FIFA might force some of the surrounding area to be closed or inside its security perimeter.

FIFA has done those buffer zones in the past few World Cups because those countries were not used to hosting such major events. I would venture to guess that FIFA is largely ok with how the US handles crowd control. A standard group stage game will have the same protocols as an NFL game.

I'm gonna be pissed if they force In-N-Out to close and I can't get my 4x4 Animal style after Mexico loses M73 against Canada in R32

Every indication I’ve seen is that they’ll be setting up their usual World Cup security perimeter, with the temporary fencing, zig-zag barriers, and multiple levels of security and ticket checks. They set this up for the CWC in NY, I presume as a dry run. At a minimum, significant sections of the normal parking area will be closed off. Some stadiums may not allow tailgating at all on stadium grounds.

Using NFL-style entry screening and security (which is to say none at all) is asking for trouble, especially at these ticket prices (looking at you, Colombia-Portugal in Miami).

Neither of those is happening. Also if it was like Qatar In and Out will be out in full force. I remember getting McDonalds in the perimeter in Qatar.

Also Mexico is beating Canada in that mach. They lose in the R16 as tradition dictates. Looking at the schedule.... vs Netherlands lol.

Spartak stadium in 2018 was a laugh also. You cam out of the Metro could see the ground in front of you but of course the Russian authorities sent you on a mile and half walk to get to it.

Hopefully so! I'd actually very much enjoy going to Ross, Target and In-N-Out before the game

Does anyone know where the charge for tickets come from? Just wondering if I will be charged the 3% on foreign transaction fees or not

Omfg that train is painfully slow... I went from Emeryville to Seattle and could not sleep. I think it was scheduled for 10-12 hrs but it was late and slow AF and took like 20hrs. I also ate a Costco bucket of hummus the night before and farted like crazy the entire trip. It's seated 2x2... The girl next to me was pissed I was farting every 5 minutes. I tried to fart as much as I could in the toilet downstairs, but I could run down there only so many times. People were sleeping down there on the floor next to the toilets and luggage so if the toilet was occupied I couldn't even rip them farts in the stairwell alone.

Tdlr: take the plane at whatever costs!

Switzerland usually I believe. Yes the 3% will apply. Consider a United Explorer or Delta amex gold card lol. No foreign transaction fees and your first checked luggage free also...priority boarding so you can be the @$$#0/_3 who puts their personal item up in the overhead compartment. Annual Fee is usually waived for the first year. I am not licensed to give financial advice so I claim no responsibility if you overspend on world cup tickets ;)

That's all private land with massive corporate businesses. Doubt FIFA has the clout to pull that off. LA is closer to the Wild West than Russia ! :ROFLMAO:
