I haven’t submitted my application yet, but a friend did his and tried to link it to a previous application he won in November. Both were from the general public (same game and category), but an error message appeared saying it was not possible to link them. So I guess seat linking works for tickets bought in Phases 1 and 2, while tickets in Phase 3 can only be seated together with other Phase 3 tickets.
Thanks for that. Am only willing to do a same-day travel for a match if it is by train. Too much risk by plane. You got me thinking though. I am approaching from the West Coast so might look to do M26 (Swiss in LA) before going to KC and Atlanta (72) for theUzbekistan match. Should be able to get those tickets and can do COSM in LA.
Being optimistic that I'll secure tickets for Scotland Haiti I was looking into booking a hotel. As a Hilton Honors member and having a decent amount of points I started searching around the Stadium. Spent an hour trying to book and everything was 'sold out' apart from one of the Hilton family. Despite trying multiple times to book one of the six remaining rooms it kept saying technical problem. Got on chat with Hilton and they confirmed it, didn't offer any other help other than 'try later'. So..... tried just now and the hotels are not fully booked BUT if you want the hotel next to the Stadium it's nearly a million points per night! Okay, I'll just stay further away at one which is only 50k per night. Until you book and they tell you it was 50k for the first night and a special rate of 120k for the second night. Classic!
This is what I'm doing, going to submit probably 20x applications specifically for M1 cat 3 and M53 any cat, M1 cat 3 itself is probably going to have millions of applicants for (maybe) 2k tickets, so I'm sadly going to need to grind it out with heaps of applications
If anyone needs a source for virtual cards to use for the lotto, send me a DM ill shoot you a link. Plus I also would like to join the whatapp group.
Yes, exactly. Time for some talented songwriter to write a song about that, along the lines of Don McLean’s American Pie (“the day the music died”). This World Cup represents the apex of greed, unless it gets worse still in the future.
I don’t get all the fuss about hydration ad breaks. I mean what do you want them to do instead? Show a bunch of people in the stands for three minutes and hear Alexi Laias talk about how Uzbekistan ?
To those that have sold tickets on the resale platform. I believe many of us got email that refund cannot be process to credit card. I filled out bank information like fifa asked. Didn't receive anything yet. Did anyone here got their refund deposit to bank account??? Or FIFA is taking their sweet time? So annoying...
Are people submitting multiple applications this round? I put in one for two tickets for two USA group stage plus R32 in SF, almost $4,750. Thinking about having my brother put in a second but if both successful that’s almost $10k and no guarantee I can sell other tickets. What is everyone else doing?
There’s one game I REALLY want, so for that one I’ll put in a Cat 2 application and my dad a Cat 3. If we both get it, I’ll try to sell Cat 2 and worst case sell Cat 3 (which I’m thinking will always be possible for most games). For games that are nice-to-haves I’ll just do one Cat 3 application as I wouldn’t be willing to pay more than that anyway.
Do you guys look at the stadium to see if there is more cat 1 than 2? I applied for cat 1 just cause i figured there is more cat 1 and i clicked on that i would take cat 2 also
There’s way more Cat 1 tickets than 2 and 3. FIFA categorized most of the stadium in all cities as Cat 1 because they are thieves. I applied for all Cat 1 as I figured this would give the best chance of getting tickets. There are very few Cat 3 tickets.
The posted seat maps are not final. FIFA can recategorize the sections at any time. Also, the sections labeled Category 1 include the hospitality tickets, so those sections will not all be allocated to regular Category 1 ticket purchasers.
It seems more fair this round. The first 2 rounds a single person could buy 4 tickets across 10 matches and they would get them all, while someone who loses gets nothing. So it seems like they were picking each applicant. But this round, it seems like instead of choosing applicants, they are going to choose tickets for each specific match. This seems more reasonable and fair. Also, this time since you will be automatically charged and can't back down, most people are going to apply for much less than 40 tickets, making it more fair and balanced. They should not have allowed 40 tickets per person in the first 2 rounds, they should have capped it to something like 12 (4 tickets max for 3 matches max) at the most per person. that way many more people would have had a chance. But this is FIFA we are talking about, so money talks. They did this on purpose... likely because they will charge by % for each ticket a scalper who won the lottery resells... so they make more money off inflated resell tickets.. so FIFA is excess profiting off the unfairness and pricing more people out.
I applied to only M33 Cat 2 equivalent on both PMA and Random Selection under the same name and card. Not sure if it clashes. Hard to justify Cat 3 for M21 or M46 when I can spend that on Quebec/Niagara Falls.
I suggested way earlier in this thread that 20 would have been reasonable, i.e. 5 games for a group or family of 4, or 10 games for a couple (or buddies or father and son, like me)... or why not 20 games for a solo traveler. Unfortunately FIFA Marketing wanted to advertise millions of applications so that was the best way to do it and they didn't care if the tickets were ending up on StubHub.
I’m only doing German FA tickets. Figured my chances are higher that way. And for the federation tickets you should be able to see exact numbers. I think it’s typically 25% Cat 1, 25% Cat 2 and 50% Cat 3, from what I’ve seen so far.
Living in the most expensive city in the world I'm used to getting shafted on prices but I thought that was on another level.
