best post in this thread steve. it reflects the opinion of many true football fans worldwide, mine as well but I can‘t put it into words this well
On the subject of logistics, I think the location of the Portugal and Argentina matches are unfair. I am attending two matches (34 and 58) in Kansas City. Between those two matches or either side, I would like to watch a match in Houston or Dallas. The two matches proximate in Houston are Portugal matches. The two matches proximate in Dallas are Argentina matches. I have no chance of getting tickets for them and wouldnt mind watching a pot 3 v pot 4 game. I don't just want to go to Dallas for the airport and Cosm, but that looks like what it will be. It is like the reverse effect of how San Francisco has been treated.
If you're able to travel quickly after M58, there is Cabo Verde vs. Saudi Arabia in Houston the next day. Also there is Uzbekistan vs. DRC (maybe) in Atlanta two days after M58. Atlanta is just a few minutes more flight time compared to Houston.
Does anyone know what happens if the credit card used in the application is declined or replaced in the window between the application and the award? The FIFA site says they will try the same card multiple times but I’m wondering if they’ll let you change the credit card if the one in the app doesn’t work? I’m not sure if the one I applied with will let me run the entire value.
LOL NOBODY is going to be paying 1k to see Sabrina Carpenter preform a song or 2. I'm sure she will have very little influence in the purchase of that ticket.
They should email you a link to pay. They want your money so they will make sure you get a chance to pay
. This is what the fifa site says. Failed Transactions. If the initial transaction attempt is declined or cannot be processed for any reason, FIFA will re-attempt the transaction with the same Payment Card information. If this second attempt remains unsuccessful for any reason, FIFA may, but has no obligation to, attempt the transaction an additional time, or attempt to contact you at the email address provided in your FIFA Ticketing Account with the time-limited option to separately complete payment online with an accepted Payment Card. If such an opportunity is offered, you must successfully complete the separate payment within the timeframe stated in the notification. FIFA is not obligated to contact you, and it is your responsibility to monitor your email and FIFA Ticketing Account notifications. If Payment Card transaction attempts fail and you subsequently fail to complete payment within the allotted timeframe, the Prize will be withdrawn and forfeited and no Allocated Tickets will be issued to you. FIFA may then, at its discretion, reallocate the tickets to another entrant or return them to inventory
Have any official communications come out from the FIGC yet about supporter ticket prices? Or would that only happen in April should Italy qualify?
So if I'm reading this correctly, in theory, you could attempt multiple entries with different low balance gift cards, and if at least one is successful, complete the payment later with a different (real) card? That way, you'd be maximizing your odds without running the risk of duplicate charges.
Love that early group stage feel... Everyone is just happy and hopeful and glad to be around each other. And you're right the locals are still happy with us... Like a new girlfriend... This $4000 final is like the divorce lol. Got to be smart like Hakimi and put your money somewhere else. The $4000 can pay for 2030 group stage again.
Everything is like this now in the USA. So many apps have made everything competitive plus you don't need to look anyone in the face anymore. It's cheaper now to fly your family out to Disneyland Tokyo than to go to Disneyland in the USA.
Pre notify your bank that a large transaction might happen helps. If it doesn't go through normally you will get an email saying the transaction didn't work. Try to pay online again. If it still doesn't work call your bank again and make sure the amount of credit is open. At this point it might be best to ring up FIFA. Call at a time when the call numbers are low (there will be a thousand people in the same boat)... Early morning in Europe otherwise you won't get through.
A little tangent... I keep looking at the schedule... They could of gave SF that second Argentina game. Granted NY and both TX host cities got stacked schedules, But I feel like Algeria Jordan plays better in CA than TX
Hopefully the thread title is changed to … “no politics and no more whining”. Maybe the mods can create a “cry here” thread. It’s getting ridiculous, unhelpful and nothings going to change no matter how hard you pound sand.

A regular gift card ( visa) bought at walmart??? Or what kind? I just called some of my credit cards and ask for a tempprary adress so it matches the adress on aplications
Yes, like a standard Visa gift card. Basically any card that'll pass the "zero charge" test but won't actually be able to be charged the full amount.
Question for the local guys. I have match M81 In San Francisco at 17:00 Local time and Next day M84, at 12:00 local time. . So far, i am travelling solo, and have a Luggage. What would be the best option to go from San Francisco to LA I was leaning towards Taking a late night Flight ( But thinking what to do with the luggage)
Maaaaate you are spot on. The early group stage optimism is real. Everyone is pumped to be at the world's biggest party. Your post has me reminiscing about the slave labour camp in Al Janoub. It was widely ridiculed but I have fond memories of it and all the people of the world who were there for only one reason - the World Cup. Starting to get pumped for this World Cup and so happy for all the debutants like Uzbekistan, Jordan, Curacao etc. If you only have two weeks annual leave accrued then book a trip for the group stages. It is the best.
My first thought would be to get a flight from San Jose airport to LAX, but SJC doesn't have super-late flights, so the options might not be good after a knockout match that could go to 8 pm. For later flights you would need to go to SFO, which requires a longer trip from the stadium. SFO is about 30 miles/50 km from the stadium, while SJC is about 6 miles/10 km. Another option would be to take an early flight from either airport the next morning before 7 am. If everything is on time, you'll get to LAX 3-4 hours before the game, and the airport is quite close to the stadium. That's always a risk because there's no room to deal with a delay or cancellation. For luggage storage the only idea I have is that many hotels will store luggage for a fee if you are not a guest. There are a Hilton and a Hyatt within a block of the Santa Clara stadium, and more hotels in the wider area. Make arrangements in advance by calling the hotel if you're going to do this.
I agree with three apples next day plan... You'd have some humongous balls to get the south west 8:55pm to lax from sjc Even the 10:20 Alaska or 10:35 united out of sfo might be hard Try july 2, Maybe the 6:50 am SW from oak Or 6:00 am sw, Alaska, or delta from sfo 7:00 SW or delta from sjc is the best bet... You can relax and celebrate with whoever wins the game. Delta is the most reliable. Also luggage won't be a problem then. Prebook / leave it at a hotel on the way to the game.
It is true that the Qatar World Cup was corrupt, but it was not taken away from ordinary fans. It is true that it was not the same type of fans, as many came from the Middle East and India, for example, but these are also real fans who dream about football, about Ronaldo and Messi, etc. For many of them, their only chance to watch these players was on TV, while what we call “ordinary” fans in Europe, already have the chance to watch football at home, with the best players playing. It is good that Qatar opened the door to another category of normal fans. All football fans are equal—we agree on that. However, there is some credit to give to Qatar despite the corruption: 1. Qatar wanted the World Cup as leverage to exist on the world map, like Dubai, and for that it offered world-class stadiums and worked hard to satisfy its guests. I also don’t agree that it was expensive, except perhaps for international flights. 2. Qatar has contributed to football development in the Middle East after the World Cup and as a direct result of organising the World cup. If you watch the Arab Cup, you will understand what I mean: 16 teams competing in amazing, full stadiums with a very good atmosphere. 77,000 fans in Lusail for Saudi Arabia vs Palestine, with tickets as low as USD 10. The Middle East now has its own mini World Cup, played every two years in Qatar
Sorry, late to reply. Yes, finally got an email and perhaps more importantly, it says that I have successfully applied. Now it's just the waiting for nearly two months whilst scrolling through the debates on Sabrina Carpenter, Brits are whingers and how the pricing is fair/unfair/expected. Oh, and trying to work out if Homie is a FIFA plant.....
