What's the consensus here? Are we applying for 4 tickets to each game via PMA and RSD both? What happens if we win both draws? Which takes priority? This is from the USSF FAQ and it's a horrible answer that answers none of the nuance. If I already applied for tickets through FIFA, can I still sign up through the U.S. Soccer Insiders allotment? Fans are limited to four tickets per household per match. Fans cannot win tickets for the same match in both FIFA and U.S. Soccer draws.
Nope. They may put it on FS1 and streaming as their commentators talk about other things. But the one in California will be on broadcast FOX.
if you're only using one account you're limited to 4 tickets per match. Why would you apply for 4 tickets in each path? Pick your path or open a second account to apply for more than 4.
Why wouldn't you? You're allowed to enter both. Why not grab 2 lottery tickets instead of 1? Silly question. Since they let you enter both they should explain which draw takes priority if you win both. This is common sense.
Secondary market value tickets for Sabrina Carpenter are going for like $800 a pop cheapest seats. So yes, you and I would fall asleep but there is a demand to see her from other demographics.
I wonder how much the Carpenter and World Cup supporters overlap? BTW, what Gen Zer has $800 for a concert ticket? I guess their parents are paying...
There's paying $800 to see Sabrina Carpenter perform a full set and then paying $2200 to watch US/Paraguay + Sabrina Carpenter sing three songs. Not exactly the same thing. Although just seeing the reactions of the FIFA execs if she did Juno live might be worth it.
I'm sure the US will do better than that. They will use it to ramp up hype. Careful, I might have to whinge about that comment!
Exactly this. She’ll perform for max 15-20 mins. Nobody with a brain is paying $1200 to see that. Only Taylor Swift could get that.
Once again;, it is all the factors of pageantry and carnival atmosphere that is going to make the prices high. Not just one factor. Opening days in sports usually get a boost. A World Cup will get the ultimate boost because of the game, the history and the side shows.
Also I am far from a Sabrina Carpenter fan but she is easily in the top five of current touring acts in North America, I don't think FIFA could do better than her lol Going to be big mad when I pay my $1500 markup to see washed up Drake perform here though.
I’m just wondering if it’s ok to use the same credit card for the email/account used for the random application, and then the email/account for the fan application. My email affiliated with my supporters account is different from my regular fifa ID email …so I made a second fifa account with the same email used for my supporters profile
You’re comparing traveling in Europe to traveling across an ocean to the world’s most expensive country. Roundtrip flight to US: $1500 Domestic flights: $600 Accommodation: $100/night (conservatively) ($1400) Match tickets: 3x $230 is $700 Food/entertainment: $500 (probably low) To get to the US and follow England for three group stage matches over two weeks is $4700. The match tickets are only 15% of that cost. I understand that many England supporters are not well off. But it’s expensive to travel on another continent, especially one as wealthy as North America and it’s not a surprise (or a new development) that not everyone will be able to go. The fans from the Americas paid a fortune to get to Russia and Qatar and spend time there, and we’ll do it again in 2030. Many Latin American fans spend well above their means to be there. But they’d follow their team to Antarctica.
Complaints about this pricing actually makes sense. These prices are 100+% higher than the last Euros with travel that is harder and more spread out for Europeans to receive worse seats on average. If these tickets were slightly higher than the Euros, then sure, this article is a bit much. This is price gouging really and is always going to look like it to fans of countries where someone can buy club season tickets for less than one GS Cat 1 ticket.
But it is like going to Disney World and complaining that everything is expensive. You know what you are walking into. There is very high demand for a premium product in a Country with many affluent people with expendable incomes and the most ethnic diversity on the planet. High demand is always going to make things very expensive with such little supply.
I have'em all) BTW, IMO, NY got the best bundle of matches. Nothing comparable in other cities. 4 decent games, except the last one. And the risky 3rd group stage game, where both teams can score 6 points each beforehand, so won't be a decisive one. But that's applicable to each 3rd round match. Furthermore, in between there's a good opportunity to make 1-2 daytrips to Philly and Boston for good games from NY.
