May I know which city do you live? Any tips for affordable accommodation in New York? Or maybe tips for staying in the suburbs that are close to New York but have easy transportation. I'm considering renting a car. Is it difficult to drive and navigate in the New York area? I checked on booking.com and found that most hotels in New York are sky-high prices. Also i read airbnb in NYC is illegal if stay less than 30 days, is it true?
You can get RTT or RIghts to Tickets through FIFA collect, you might have to mess around with crypto (USDC or coax your credit card company into dealing with their sketchy payment processor) https://www.fifacollect.info/tickets/world-cup-2026?team=scotland
Love this mate, that's awesome and using a few codes myself, I see the huge discounts! Don't think i will be able to capitalise on any of it, and its a real shame its so difficult to actually use. Any ways around it?
That’s a very disingenuous example. You’re searching award redemption flights for one route on a single airline (AA), departing from an airport where that airline has a limited presence because it’s a major hub of another airline (United). The high price you’re seeing is likely due to the mandatory connection through DFW for AA, which is currently seeing higher than usual bookings and interest on that date due to the June 17 England-Croatia match in Dallas. You’ve got to broaden your search. You can fly direct between IAH and MTY on June 18 at five different times on United for $450.
Airbnb is alive and well in NYC. (VRBO is another very similar site that alot of people use) Obviously Manhattan (the "downtown/central" part of NYC) is going to be super pricey but it's a really cool city and it'll be alive in the summer. Consider looking at the New Jersey side (Hoboken and Jersey City) are good options, airbnb looks like there are good options for 200+/night. The PATH train has stops at both locations that easily get you into the city and the ferries run all the time and are a super cool way to experience NYC. Not to mention amazing views of the city from that side of the Hudson River. Another benefit is Liberty Park (FIFA Fan Fest) is right there and it's near Newark airport and Metlife stadium.
Also keep in mind that Seattle and Miami are MAJOR cruise ship hubs....Miami for cruises to the Caribbean, and Seattle for cruises to Alaska. And summer is prime cruise season. That's going to drive up prices for airfares, as well as for hotels/AirBnB's.
You could look at hotels in Hoboken, Jersey City, or Weehawken in NJ. Those are an easy ferry ride or path train ride from the city (path train is like the subway that connects NJ and NYC), so you can still enjoy the city, and on matchday you wouldn't have to deal with getting out of NYC to NJ since you would already be there. You can reach the stadium on match day from these locations by train (light rail to Hoboken, NJ transit from Hoboken to Metlife with a change of train in Secaucus Junction). I wouldn't recommend driving if you're staying in NYC. If you're staying in the suburbs you could do it but it wouldn't be needed if you're staying in the places I mentioned.
Driving in New York City is a nightmare. New York City also cracked down on Airbnbs. Here is a hotel in the Bronx less than $200 in June near the Subway https://maps.app.goo.gl/QKPL5R7Ax8yCFp2z9 Here is a hotel in Harlem under $200 nearish the subway https://maps.app.goo.gl/UXb1kjCAfoktkEkw7 As long as you are near the subway you can get anywhere, though it might take a while. Here are some hotels in Jersey not sure about transportation there but you can use google maps to figure it out (a quick search shows a bus that goes to the stadium close to two of them didn't check the other) https://maps.app.goo.gl/FJVUPR3fraRnE59Z8 https://maps.app.goo.gl/n3MTWiH1uELwN95W9 https://maps.app.goo.gl/GTbtcVvBE8sUckws6
Do not, I repeat, do not rent a car. Even if you get a place farther out, there are tons of "commuter towns" that have trains that get you into the city. Ubers are everywhere. Now if you want to rent a car and explore the northeast (Boston, NYC, Philly) etc then it's not a bad idea but for driving around NYC and into the city, fuhgeddaboudit.
I do not live in NYC and have been to London more times than NYC, so the advice given by others is definitely better than what I can give. With any major city though, public transportation and Uber/Lyft is always the better way than a car. Even if you want to rent a car to use to go to another host city from NYC, I would rent the car when you are leaving NYC instead of before you get there.
Super disingenuous. I found a flight in and a flight out of Philly with a very low redemption of miles on AA (other flights were ridiculous), but when I looked for Atlanta on non-Delta flights, the miles amounts were out of this world to your point. What airline you are flying on and what hub is going to make a big difference for people. People that only fly one airline group are going to have to probably branch out to others to find their best prices here. Even budget airlines like Frontier (I wouldn't dare recommend Spirit) might be more useful than the big airlines too.
AA prices have not moved since they were first released. Nothing to do with England v Croatia. How much demand is there realistically going to be for that route? Price gouging in the extreme United price is £133 most days of year. 25th June it's £500 and similar for a few days after that.
The Los Angeles matches are pretty bad if you're not a big US fan. We got two Iran matches and the least attractive non-host seed in Belgium. The only saving grace is Italy-Switzerland if Italy make it and Mexico in the R32 game if they finish 2nd in their group.
hate to say this... but the RTT price is a decent price for Haiti v Scotland Cat2. I doubt they go lower. Saturday game in Boston.
This was always going to be a potential problem when the easiest way to travel between the cities is not public transportation and controlled by organizations that can do dynamic pricing as well.
For reference: Three Category 2 tickets - $1005 (average $335 each) Morocco x Scotland - Boston/Foxborough 19 June France x whomever - Philadelphia 22 June Brazil x Scotland - Miami 24 June Flight Florida to Boston, one-way - $158.48 (Economy Class) June 19 (holiday in the USA) Hotel in Braintree, MA (20 minute drive from Gillette Stadium) - $342.00 2 Nights, June 19 through 21 Amtrak train Boston to Philadelphia - $93 (Acela Express Business Class) June 21 Hotel in Deptford, NJ (14 minute drive from Lincoln Financial Field) - $819.95 3 Nights, June 21 through 24 For the rest of the trip, I used frequent flyer and hotel points. I got the tickets and made reservations before the draw. Hope this helps.
Following to know what answers you get lol. Also, I think every Colombian will want that game lol, well I guess Colombians who live in Mexico City might try to go see the Uzbekistan game instead.
Yeah, that also caught my attention. Here, I have to disagree: Haiti's not exactly a World Cup regular, and we can't expect the likes of Costa Rica to trip on their own shoelaces forever, so the Haitian communities throughout the US East Coast absolutely see this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
If u going just for games stay in new jersey… if u want to see the city stay in queens … take train into city.. then bus or shuttle to stadium
