Brazil is a similar size to the contiguous USA. Of course the US cities are more geographically spread. The US clearly has a much more extensive aviation network. The World Cup shouldn't add as much demand in percentage terms in the US as it did in Brazil. It should be similarly priced, allowing for inflation. I reckon there are two main factors in play. First, pricing mechanisms have surely moved on and are designed to extract as much money as possible. Currently prices are set very high and they will be designed to create fear of missing out. Buy now, or pay even more later. If I'm right prices will fall later but who wants to take that risk? Secondly, the US economy has grown significantly since the 2008 financial crash whilst Europe has been moribund. We in Europe are simply comparatively poorer than we were.
The App wont come online until May/June. But right now a seller can transfer via the fifa.com ticketing account (when in comes back online on Dec 15). There a zero restrictions for transfer and you will see the ticket allocation in your account as soon as you accept the transfer. Like Wixson said; all you need is an email address.
They probably haven't decided on how much of the parking lot will be used for the security perimeter and the corporate marketing stalls beyond. Hopefully the link below shows the perimeter for the stadium in Recife during preparations for 2014. They will use larger perimeters next year. https://maps.app.goo.gl/E4LzWUP4WuGMjGmq6?g_st=ac
The airlines use pricing models that fluctuate based on current demand and interest, which factors in things like recent search volume. I’m guessing a lot of people booked or at least looked up flights on the World Cup dates in the past few days, so maybe that’s part of it. Especially with the summer still a bit far out. Instead of saying “everything’s expensive”, it would help if everyone posts some actual dollar amounts they’re seeing. Those of us with extensive experience traveling in the US can pretty quickly tell you if the flight, trains, or lodging prices you’re seeing are high or just normal summertime pricing. Travel in the US during the summer is often expensive, and paying (for example) $800 for a GDL-DFW roundtrip isn’t out of the question if you have to have direct flights.
Someone pointed it out earlier, and he was somehow right: football will die in the USA, with the funeral taking place on July 19th at MetLife Stadium
LA -> mexico city one way (3 hours flight) 500 usd Guadalajara -> houston one way (2 hours flight) 700 usd
They haven’t fully figured out how much of the normal parking they’ll be closing, especially for NY. The parking passes you see on sale now are for very limited preferred parking areas (hence the high prices). I don’t think you need to worry about buying parking just yet. Somewhere like Boston or Philly will have plenty of offsite parking available at a fraction of the cost of these passes.
Probably worth people clearing cache and using different devices too. You will be quoted a personalised price depending on your search history and anything else they know about you.
lol as some one else said that's VERY optimistic in fact it's utter rubbish. Double that would be nearer the mark. It's just not worth it for us Europeans to go to this world cup. Personally I'm going to Spain or Portugal to a 5 star hotel for 2 weeks to watch the games in comfort in the sun on TV and have a great time. It is costing a lot lot less.
Those are a bit high, so I’d wait and look into some connecting flight options. Also, sometimes booking one way international flights into the US can be much more expensive than a roundtrip, so you could consider booking a roundtrip and then not using the return leg. Or “skiplagging”, where you book an itinerary connecting through Houston and then don’t board the connecting flight. Depending on your passport/visa situation, those might not be a great idea if you need to explain your travel plans when at the border.
Yep, I'm not sure how they got to those figures. Either outdated from the initial prices or mythical cat 4 tickets. They had a Scotland supporter on last week who had booked 22 cancellable hotel rooms pre-draw. That is a lot of effort so fair play to him. From memory he said his best value hotels were in Mexico and Miami. He had only booked the flight out, hopefully he has an elongated stay.
GDL - MIA are almost $1k during the WC even with layover which is definitely not ordinary ($250 is more ordinary), GDL - DFW is 550 with a night layover in Mexico City or 600 roundtrip which is also definitely not ordinary (250-300 should be more than enough) For the games in LA i'm not too stressed as there's more flights to LA or to Tijuana and take a shuttle to LA

Anyone got any advice/tips on the best way to get a ticket for Scotland v Morocco that won't require me to sell additional body parts i didn't know I had? I tried the ballot for the Euros last year for Scotland games and didn't have luck so had to shell out through Ticombo, so wondering if there's a higher chance of success this time?
Cheapest I’ve seen are $500-600 for Cat 2 on FIFA Collect. Haiti match slightly cheaper. Alternatively, try and find one of the many people who bought Scotland TSTs in the hours after qualifying. There will be some lurking here.
I might go to one of those San Fran Bay Area games as I like to visit anyway, but I plan on waiting last minute to get tickets as I think they will drop a lot.
I live in a host country, but this is the main reason why I wasn't overly excited about this World Cup even before knowing the ticket prices. Travel here is not cheap and the train network just isn't good. Bouncing from city to city was always going to be expensive even before including in accommodation. This just isn't the same as an event like Euro 2024 or the 2024 Summer Olympics where you can hop on a train with a rail pass and get to the stadium pretty easily. I'm not going to do this because I couldn't be bothered nor am I following around a team, but really, the cheapest way to navigate this World Cup is by car to the city and then presumably bus from city to stadium. Maybe Amtrak too if you are only going to Boston, NY/NJ, and Philly. Granted, I understand someone not wanting to drive on foreign roads if they are from overseas, but it is going to get pricey otherwise. If you must fly, not sure I would buy yet other than your ticket to getting into a host country and then waiting to buy to fly from host city to host city. Summer just is always going to be more expensive though.
Are you also on the tickets WhatsApp group? You can post a message up there to ask if anyone is selling. To be honest I'm looking for the same tickets as you but sharing is caring
That sounds like a good idea, how do I get added to that? I don't know if I'd be likely to get a ticket in the ballot or on the Fifa resale so want to try and get something.
