Yeah, I bemoaned the SF Bay Area getting (realistically) the matches most people don’t care for, but the flip side of that is maybe, just maybe I can get cheap, cheap, tix for Turkey/Paraguay just for the experience of attending a WC game in person. I’ve got no dog in a Turkey/Paraguay fight, except for how it might affect the US. (I’d rather watch Paraguay/Australia but I think that’s the final group game so the US will be playing at the same time.)
Algeria, Australia, Paraguay, maybe Jordan, and (if there) especially Turkey will all bring some passionate fans out, if perhaps small in number. Switzerland will have a group too. And those matches all have close to zero neutral interest, so you’ll have your pick of tickets. Wait until seats are assigned in April/May and then pick which fans you want to sit with/near and buy a ticket in that end of the stadium. It’s usually A vs B is left vs right as seen on TV.
All three west coast venues ended up getting screwed by multiple elements of the draw. - Belgium being drawn as the Pot 1 team for Group G - neither Japan or South Korea ending up on the west coast - Colombia not being drawn on the west coast And of course, the fact that Panama was the only Central American country to qualify didn't help either, since there are huge Salvadorian, Guatemalan, and Honduran populations in the US. Belgium-Egypt in Seattle is probably the best "non-host" match on the west coast.....
I don’t have anything to say about the accounts but if this phase is like the random selection draw for Qatar, you will be able to select multiple categories for the games you want. So no need to stress about choosing cat 1 over cat 2. You can select cat 1 - 4 and FIFA will award you whatever is available if you get chosen. Assuming they will charge the priciest first, you will get cat 1 auto charged.
Same here... the Paraguay - Australia game seems to be the most interesting of the bunch but since it's the last game of the group it will be played at exactly the same time as the USA game which will decide who's top of the group (I hope). I already asked my son what he prefers, going to the game or watching the USA on TV and he did not hesitate a minute to say "I watch the USA game". So as much as the Paraguay-Australia game may be interesting, I don't see locals filling the stadium. As to Paraguay and Australia fans I don't think there will be enough of them to fill the stadium. I just checked the ticket price tracker and at $338, it's still vastly overpriced.
I interpret this as saying the most in-demand MATCH is Portugal - Colombia and Scotland is driving demand for all their games vs Brazil, Morocco and Haiti.
I booked my flights from Dubai to LA, and I’m flying back to Dubai from Miami. I ended up paying more for my short flights ( LA → Mexico City and Guadalajara → Houston ) than for my very long international flights. I can already tell you: be ready for a lot of international fans canceling their trips or part of their trips.. Insane prices
I was going to ask but it has got StubHub on the bottom left corner. No idea if they're reselling enough tickets for it to be realistic or if it is a truly global market. Portugal at number 1 doesn't feel right. Demand for USA, Mexico or Canada tickets wouldn't have been much affected by the draw, so it makes sense that they're not 1,2,3.
Yes but no Argentina on there?! Also it makes a mockery of it really because I presume Haiti are in 7th purely because people want Scotland and Brazil tickets.
This will massively reduce the number traveling internationally just to be there and party. The 10s of thousands in the fanfests will be locals, including ex-patriots, rather than visitors. A real shame as part of the fun, even for locals, should be hosting the World.
Apologies if covered previously but as I'm weighing up buying someone's tickets, what is the process for transfer? I did it with no hitch in the Euros with the app and you had the assurance of seeing it in your account. How is it being done at this point? Or is it only possible down the line?
Hi guys sorry if this question has already been answered before but how will the federation sales work, my first and only tournament was the Euro 2024 and it was as simple as just requesting a code from the Portugal FA, once the code was given to me o would just use the code in the ticketing website and it would give me access to the tickets, will it work the same for the WC, is it different or does it vary by FA. Thanks in advance
With the tickets, flights, and hotels, this will probably cost me as much as the three World Cups I attended, Brazil (3,750 usd) Russia (2,000 usd), and Qatar, combined (3,300 usd)
Last night on UK radio they were estimating the cost of following England all the way to the final, should they get there, at £10,000. That is about $13,000. Of that they reckoned £4,000 ($5,200) would be tickets. Very few people will do that, especially as the expanded tournament will need a lot of time off work.
With the cheapest ticket to the final being around $4k that estimate is not even close to the real cost
Do people in Europe not understand how big the US is? And how much it costs to travel those distances?
Yes I think so but the change in prices in bonkers. I have never paid so much for a train journey that is basically only 85 minutes. I expect to be able to take the seat with me.
A GDL - DFW roundtrip for the dates Argentina are playing in Dallas is around the same price I paid for a LAX-DXB flight with Emirates lol, it's insanely overpriced right now
What's going on with parking? I bought a pass for the Ecuador-Ivory coast match in Philadelphia, but for the Brazil - Morocco match in NJ the website just says "Parking availability to be determined" with a form to fill in your name and email. What's this about? I also tried to buy a parking pass for the Boston r32 match on 6/29 but it keeps saying 'unable to complete purchase'. Why is this so difficult?
