So I turned out getting tickets for: South Korea v Denmark/Macedonia/Czechia/Ireland @ Guadalajara Colombia v Uzbekistan @ Mexico City South Korea v South Africa @ Monterrey R16 @ Vancouver. I am planning on flying through Vancouver - kind of tempted if the resale market isn't too hideous when it opens back up on the 11th to try and 'swap' my Korea v UEFA tickets for Australia v UEFA (I'm Aussie). Would still like to visit Guadalajara so would like to try and get tickets to Spain v Uruguay but that's going to me extremely difficult I would have to think.
Maybe that's why I shuttered when I first saw the FIFA graphics today. But then, wouldn't your (good) point be true for the 16 June Group J match (Santa Clara) and those West Coast matches in Group D???
I think you could find someone to swap the Korea vs UEFA, Guadalajara tickets have a lot of demand. And don't want to demotivate you for Uruguay vs Spain but I already got offers to buy my tickets for that game at 1300 usd per ticket (I said no)
I don't know who printed 00:00 20 June, but matching 00:00/midnight times to a date is confusing and might not even be interpreted the same in every country. I'd just look at the time/date at the actual location and compute from there.
Still a nice draw with Korea and Japan... Such a beautiful stadium too and surrounding mountainscape. Would love tickets to both those games. When I was there they were building the metro, hopefully it's done by June. For anyone going check out: Paseo Santa Lucia River Cruise El Rey del Cabrito Restaurant at Horno 3 (oven 3 museum) The restaurant at the stadium is open to the public on non game days... You can exit the restaurant and sit in the stadium seats in that section after your meal. Probably won't be true for the world cup days tho. Lots of steakhouses I didn't get to try
LA-SF has the worst luck. Other than USA matches these games are miserable. And they’re selling some of the most expensive tickets. I’ve been cursed with Belgium for 3 world cups now.
It means they're on the same day they were always scheduled, and the local time is 9 pm Pacific or 10 pm in Mexico.
https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/1be9ce37eb98fcc5/original/FWC26-Match-Schedule_English.pdf ...says midnight. Monterrey is CST isn't it? Same as Dallas, Houston and Kansas City? I'm totally confused.
Yes when they put the USA Eastern times on the telecast it confused everyone. They had Australia v Euro path 4 at midnight kickoff in Vancouver. Why the fk would you not have local time listed for kick offs? That match actually kicks off at 2100 Vancouver time. From what i can see the earliest kick off is midday and there is one 2200 kick off, that being Tunisia v Japan in Monterrey. And I know people are bitching about San Francisco getting 'dud' teams for local fans and i would also be crying into my beer if i paid $USD500+ for most of those matches. ... but I will be in San Francisco while the Jordan v Algeria match is on and i will def be trying to go to the game. I will pay at most $USD100 for a ticket and i am prepared to wait until an hour before kickoff to buy.
This schedule is great if you are in the New York timezone. If you are in the other 99% of the world it is good for the schredder. Those kick off times are not local time.
Monterrey and the other Mexican host cities are on the equivalent of CST in the winter, but they do not do daylight saving, so they will be on the equivalent of US Mountain time during the World Cup.
It seems that at this time of year Monterrey is at same time as Dallas, Houston and Kansas, but in summer it isn't https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/
Thanks. Its a minefield. Googling doesn't help either because most media seem to show their own local times, wherever they are based. Is there a pdf with local (accurate) times showing?
Belgium and Switzerland have the worst stadium atmospheres , it’s horrible. At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, I watched France vs. Switzerland and it felt like a friendly match. The Swiss fans were happy even after conceding four or five goals. For them, football feels like watching a movie in a cinema lol
On the PDF, on the left to the left of where the name of the city is, is that city's time in relation to ET For example Houston ET-1 means you subtract 1 hour from the displayed time.
Same haha. I keep getting them they always the easiest to get in the random lottery I guess That's my plan too... The closer the cheaper hehe... I waited on a Raiders Broncos game to almost start to get $10 tickets on stubhub lol (they use to not end sales). Well worth it to watch the Raiders take on Peyton Manning.
Belgium Russia was terrible too. We had to go eat a Brazilian BBQ afterwards to pick up our mood lol. Belgium USA was good tho... You could buy a 4 holder of beers per person. I think I made two trips. Wando... So close bro
Guys is it possible that FIFA shifted some of the better matches to Mexico because of ticket demand being high there and a little bit slow in the US? Having said that, Canada's matches are mostly duds despite there apparently being high demand. Confused.
LA may have some good round of 32 matchups though. Spain could play Argentina, Mexico could play Canada. And if anybody wants to go to a cheap game, you have Iran vs New Zealand. Those tickets will be dirt cheap on the resale market.
