Well crap.... At least they are still selling pre draw tickets as they go on sale quarter 3. So the dynamic will only be by venue at that point.

And there are hardly any tickets offered for the host games, the weekend games (Miami, Houston and Dallas) and for 101,102 and 104 in the first phase

I was naive to think they wouldn't do this... but here we are. Uggh.

    My takeaways:
    - fifa will use their own ticketing website like in the past. No Ticketmaster bs.
    - Q3 rollout
    - it's still just an article and not official (wishful thinking)
    - they've always had different price points for different games (opener, QF, SF, etc) but at least they were set and published in advance.
    - funny that they are using the "some CWC tickets have dropped to $30" as a signal of a successful strategy. Those games were priced so high initially, scared everyone off, and I doubt people go back into see the updated new prices.

The Q3 rollout is the big hope for me. That's pre-draw. So that would point to some cities being more expensive than others for dynamic purposes. What are we thinking? New York, LA, Miami and Mexico City being the top?

it's probably going to be venue packages. 3 or 4 games and you must buy a weekday game. At some point single matches will be available for the games that dont sell out.

Bureau of Consumer Protection? Yeah, I am not holding my breath.

American people are actually responding. Concerts aren't selling out if you aren't named Taylor Swift due to cost. This is a special event tho. I don't know at what price point this won't sell out. But people like me who were planning on going to 7-8 matches may scale back to 3-4.

Americans actually brag on how much they overpaid for tickets. That's how ridiculous it gets. Monday morning: Person 1:"man I dropped 2k on a pair tickets this weekend, it was awesome"
Person 2: "oh, I tried to buy some of those and couldn't; they sold out fast"

They may also do a create your own 4 pack or whatever where only 1-2 weekend games are 'selectable'. Or tier the matchups likes select 1 Tier 1 match, 1 Tier 2 etc. I bet to get Mexico or USA matches you need to buy a 5 or 10 pack. And this is just for the lottery.

    Why are people acting surprised?
I tried to warn everyone that this World Cup would be for the rich a long time ago.

Soccer becoming popular in America is the worst thing to happen to the sport.

Not to mention those seething for having bought at the initial prices. It may just be wishful thinking on my behalf, but I do hope the CWC serves as some kind of wake up call for Infantino. The most loyal fans got rinsed the most.

Such prices also won’t do wonders for international travel. This will be a World Cup by the US, for the US.

"The reports add that tickets allocated to the countries featuring at the tournament, which typically go to official supporters' clubs, will not have dynamic pricing. It is also claimed that FIFA will 'receive all the ticket revenue for the tournament rather than venues or local organisers'."

FIFA always gets all the money. lol. That's not news. But what they did for the CWC is the model. Ticketmaster for the general public and FIFA ticketing sold Hospitality, Fan groups and RTBs. FIFA ticketing didnt implement dynamic pricing for groups and RTBs.

You also told us, in your most giddy voice, that this would be the bestest, most superest World Cup ever.

You seem incapable of empathy when it comes to the fans of the sport. Be it the South American fan who misses out on the Copa America because it is hosted in another confederation, or this kind of ticketing approach. All you do is repeat commercial talking points. Never a word of criticism.

You having to pay more is perhaps the best news yet. :D

It will be the best and the biggest and the superest.
    Every match will basically sellout.

I do have empathy. But I can also live in reality and be realistic.
I am not going to attend the games I want to. It is not like I am rich.
South American fans are going to show up in full force no matter what.

The fans that are sad about Copa Americas being here have their federations to blame along with their corrupt governments.
