Yeah I get this is a US site and we are a bit biased and a lot of people hate the POTUS right now but come on. Qatar was just an embarrassingly blatant grift by all measures. This doesn't compare.
It must have changed as in the early 1990s Singha was rather good. Maybe they brew it is this country now.
The FIFA Collect RTB conversion site is down. Before it went down it was refusing my attempts to pay by credit card, so I think they have a bug. Anyway it says due to the weight of demand they are in system maintenance. I hope this info helps.
I submitted my card several times and it just kept spinning. I went into my credit card account and see that I have a pending charge though
well, it was quite surprising how long TST Scottland was available after the game was over, even in category 3
I can't imagine FIFA will go with these pots for the playoff teams really. Sure, if Italy and Denmark make it through, it's fine. But, considering the last two teams to eliminate Italy from WCQ are in Pot 4 for the playoffs, something like that is not guaranteed. I know Wikipedia isn't the most trustworthy source, but it has the four UEFA playoff teams in Pot 4 because it kinda feels like they have to be since we won't know who they are in December obviously.
Will the draw on the 5th set the group order as well, therefore we will know the venue and day of the match ?
Either I think they said it or based on past tournaments, the schedule will be released 48 hours or so after the draw. I'm thinking we'll know basically the whole thing on the Monday after the draw. Unless FIFA pulls some chicanery or does a different process than UEFA did for the Euros, you are going to know the matchup of each GS round right at the end. It will just be the times that won't be known for the GS right away.
Thank you. As long as we know venue and day it will help tremendously for planning, I know the time is a bit more complex considering the different time zones
Is there still people receiving ticket purchase emails for this round? Or are sales done now until after the draw?
Outside of a couple 'equal' stadium pairings it should be pretty easy to slot the matches in right after the draw.
For Group G, the stadium pairs are: LA & Seattle for Matchday 1 LA & Vancouver for Matchday 2 Seattle & Vancouver for Matchday 3 Would it be safe to assume LA gets both of the higher demand games and then Seattle gets the higher demand one for matchday 3?
Can you guys remind me: if I buy 4 tickets to a game and transfer 3, does that open 3 more to purchase for that same game? Is the 4 limit on # of purchases or # that are in your wallet?
I would be stunned if that wasn't the case. FIFA may 'throw a bone' when the matchups are REALLY tight to the smaller venue but I would pretty much expect USA venues to always have the preference over non-USA (only exception may be Group K matchday 1 with Houston vs Mexico City). LA, NY always get preference over other USA venues. Atlanta vs Miami is a tossup and will probably be decided based on the teams more than any other, as in Latin American teams get Miami regardless of the matchup strengths. Panama vs Cape Verde is getting Miami even if the other matchup is England vs Croatia.
I am nearly certain you can buy more. I went to the resale portal before I had transferred games and it would not let me cart games for that day. After I transferred them, I could cart them. Didn't actually buy but I think that bodes well for it.
Did any of you actually go to Qatar ? We did and we thought it was amazing. 1.5 hours max to each game. Zero trouble, free coaches, free WiFi, free healthcare for all visitors. No threat of a random shooter
Yes, I agree. I've tried pairings too. If FIFA allocates Tier 1 teams to specific groups - which we don't know they will do -, my guess is that Argentina will be in Group G mostly because South American teams usually end up on the West Coast and they'll place the team in the largest stadiums. For the group G winner the route is LA - LA - Seattle - Seattle (R of 32, game against a 3rd-place team) - Seattle (R of 16, against USA is they go through as first place in D) - LA (1/4 final). Very little travel until the semi-final.
You can definitely buy more (I did it by moving my M3's to a burner account since I didn't want to pay the Cat 3 prices I originally paid in VISA presale and decided to try my luck for Cat 4's in domestic sale which was successful), but honestly I am pretty sure its against the rules the more I read them. When my tickets disappear I'll let you guys know. 100%, there is a pretty clear pecking order for those stadiums I think there is a very fair debate to be had if you prefer a small market rife with fraud or a giant market that immediately prices out the average consumer. As much as I find it extremely difficult to get tickets for matches in the UK for example, there's a reason why tickets there are significantly cheaper than comparables in North America.
If that was the case then both copa américa would've been West Coast heavy. Also, I don't remember the last time Argentina even played a game in the West Coast. They always play in Miami and even built an AFA headquarter over there. The only South American team I could see not minding being on the West Coast is Brazil every other country (for fan travel) would hate to be placed on the west
Many Colombians would not like being in the West but Colombia would still sellout Los Angeles and Santa Clara. Maybe even Seattle. Colombians will travel anywhere for a World Cup.
Professional resellers are directly in the business of harming their consumers by pushing the prices up. That is their raison d'etre. Who are Bradshaw Advisory, ticket resellers? Decided to check. It appears they're lobbyists. File their opinion in the bin because it is paid for, almost certainly by ticket reselling platforms. Before the big online ticket reselling agencies ticket reselling was a much smaller segment of the market. Much smaller. Cap resale prices and you destroy the legal reselling market. It will slash demand during initial sales. People that want to attend events will have a much better chance of buying them at face value. Those with genuine spares will resell at face value. As it used to be.
Fans will travel no doubt but group G sounds like a nightmare for any South American team. Trust me I'm a River fan and that Seattle - LA - Seattle for CWC sucked
