I got word from someone close wit FIFA that domestic emails will continue to be sent out. So don't lose hope for those who didn't get an email today
The best way to do that would have to have a phase where people in/near host cities got priority specifically for the matches in their city, since they would be most likely to actually attend the matches. It's kind of crazy that someone in Brazil (for example) might get a chance at tickets for a match in Dallas before people living in Dallas do just by virtue of winning some random lottery.
no, everyone should have the same chance. every local only sales or international only sales is pure bullshit and we all know well why FIFA is doing it this time. locals may argue they are alredy there and should get tickets and internationals may argue they pay thousands for travel and should get tickets. all nothing but bullshit. all crybabys! the only part that should be limited are supporter tickets for qualified countries
No email here for me as well so far for Domestic Exclusivity period. Looking to get for Toronto opener.
Well, guess what...? Nothing, zip, zilch, nada here...! My streak of luck (not!) continues... and I know you're going to say more emails will be sent out but if I get one it will probably be for the leftover Cat 1 tickets of the uninteresting games... which means I may have a chance to get my shitty San Francisco games at a cool $620 a piece for a seat in a corner of the middle bowl ! I submitted 5 different applications, 5 different addresses and 5 different card numbers. Only 2 different names because of the name on the billing address for the cards... or is this where I made a mistake and should have used ficticious names in my FIFA ID?
Was this your winning application? Is the credit card you used for the FIFA ID a "Mexican" card or a "gift" card? Last, did you use a VPN to Mexico when creating the FIFA ID and submitting the application? I'm assuming you're based in the US...
Yeah why should someone is Houston have preference over me just because their city was selected instead mine? I can make that 4-5 hour drive. The preference you get for living in a host city is NOT having to pay for flight/hotel. You're going to save thousands over the rest of us. You can go purchase tickets on the secondary market right now and your World Cup experience will still be cheaper than mine.
US based. VPN to Mexico. USA based credit card My 1 winner for the earlier Visa lottery was also done with Mexican information (different account)
Great point, there needs to be a high degree of trust between both parties for this to work smoothly.
No luck again losing hope to get any Argentina games. If anyone who won and can help me get me any category Argentina TST3 would be greatly appreciated!
I think they only winners that have been announced are for the Domestic Exclusivity period, which allows residents of Canada, Mexico, and United States to purchase domestic matches. From what I understood this would not include TSTs, and there may be a chance to purchase these in the Early Ticket Draw which will has yet to take place.
Yup! Only time I've used multiple accounts was for the visa presale draw. But I'm guessing those two extra applications were cleansed out
This speaks to the actual key point. WC cities generally invest a lot of money to host a WC based on the business model that it will bring benefit to the city via tourism flow through hotels, restaurants, bars, and retail stores. If stadiums get filled up with locals, a big part of that revenue disappears. Bottom line is that cities NEED tourism to pay for the infrastructure investments they made. Having said that, the US is slightly different in that much of the infrastructure is pre-existing thanks to the NFL, but this isn't the case for most WC hosts...
Hello I have got access to usa slot and looking to swap with access to mexico or Canada Anyone interested ?
I can't go along with that at all. Living locally does not mean more likely to go but more likely to stand at the ground on match day and sell to a desperate supporter. Just thinking of the ridiculous idea to try and sell large amounts to the French population in 1998 only to see them standing in a long line trying to sell them on match day.
40 tickets per account is absolutely insane. The Winter Olympics currently only allow 25 tickets per account and it has about twice the amount of individual events than the WC. Granted, less days and more events per day, but you're also way more able to do two events per day than this WC.
The number itself is not that far-fetched given if you are following your team and they make the semi finals then you'll see them play eight matches in the tournament. Then attending two more matches during the month isn't that excessive. Attending with three other people whether it be friends, family or both is not inconceivable. So it was always going to be atleast 8 matches and four tickets each in my opinion. Maybe they could have different limits for different products then, but for simplicity it works.
