On the re-sale site I've seen several cases where Cat 4 seats are more expensive than Cat 3. I'm wondering if it's because there are so few Cat 4 seats that people think they'll become a collector's item. Like owning a unicorn.
They had Cat 4 group stage games for $1800 on the resale site the other day. It’s the sort of mark up that would make a hardened tout blush.
The draw will have a drastic effect on ticket prices. The hosts shouldn't change too much although the quality of the opponents will have some impact. An Argentina v Morocco style game will rocket in price. Uzbekistan v Cabo Verde ...good luck touting that. Still definitely worth buying in the next phase if you get a chance.
Where do you find customer number? The portal is closed so I can't look them up. Relatedly, has anyone succesfully used gmail alias strategy w/ unique credit cards? If credit cards aren't required on this next round, I'm weighing gmail alias (e.g. example+name@gmail.com) vs. my current domain forwarding strategy (e.g xyz@mydomain.com).... I believe most email verification tools can flag both of these strategies...
same as in the visa presale: host games, games in mexico and category three tickets. that‘s it! everything else is not worth buying, unless you desperately want to see some particular game. yes, there might be one or another high demand matchup after the draw, but nearly everything else should be available at significantly lower price than those fifa ripoffs from visa presale. just stay calm and do not let them rip you off! many knockouts will be much cheaper for sure!
Agree that the FOMO mentality is causing some people to make some really dumb decisions from a financial standpoint.
That's great. If this limit is a hard stop for individual account purchases & transfers, then there's a clear line in the sand.
A lot of “fans” are new to the World Cup and don’t know how things work as far as ticket sales/demand. A lot of people in the US are in for a reality check very soon once the draw happens. Majority of prices will tank besides the bigger teams, finals etc.
Yes, account under someone else, they give me the link and then i use my credit card to buy tickets… my question was if it would be denied if its not same name on credit card with the account that was made with fifa
So all those people on here who have been saying for the last 16 years that FIFA needs to hold the world Cup in the USA because all the games will sell out due to the large number of supporters of teams who live and work in the USA were full of crap?
No demand will still be there lol. I’m just saying this is the first World Cup for many and the prices will drop a lot once the draw happens like many others have been saying on here the past few weeks. Cape Verde vs Paraguay won’t be going for $400 Category 2-3. I think we can all agree on that.
Correct, All the games will sell out but Not at current prices. USA 94 was a huge success with complete sell outs. But games were $25… FIFA will lower prices for lots of games closer to kickoff. No way they sell out SoFi in LA at $600
No, that’s definitely fine. Any rules they might apply to filtering lottery applicants don’t apply to making the actual purchases.
Mexican Resale Marketplace: Guys has anyone not based in Mexico had any luck getting on to the Mexican Resale Marketplace where I'm told that tickets can only be resold for face value? I just tried on a Mexican VPN and using Duckduckgo browser but no luck.
To find your customer number: Go to the resale portal, login, select your name at the top right (next to Logout), and click/tap Profile. The customer number and account creation date are listed at the top of the page.
I know it is too early to tell and though I agree, a few games will fall in price, I am not sure that as many games will fall by as much as some people think. Apart from the oft mentioned cosmopolitan make up of the population there seem to be a lot of locals who desperately want to see at least one game locally for the WC whoever is playing. I certainly cannot see FIFA rushing to reduce any game even after the draw.
I linked two FIFA applications to Seat tickets together. Are we sure the link will remain valid if I transfer these tickets using the FIFA Transfer option now, before they are sent to the app? I need to transfer one ticket to a friend in his name, as he has applied for a U.S. visa and showing a ticket might help him secure an earlier appointment. I am worried transfering the tickets now will break the link to seat together ?
Yes. Touts will make a killing on the % of people dumb enough to buy early for a portfolio of group games. Once the games approach, they’ll unload whatever else at or below initial cost. They don’t need to make a spread on all the tickets, just enough spread early and then downside protect by dropping prices to firesale on the rest. There will be tons of games where people are in the same row and one paid $500 and the other < half that. The former person can be “mad” about that but they’re just paying a price they think is fair and buying “peace of mind.” I do think some group games will have clearing prices north of what face value is. I just don’t think that’s more than 1 in every 3 or 4.
It should also be remembered that 6 teams will not be known until the end of March. Thus for up to 18 of the group matches we won't know for some time the exact fixtures. Though granted they won't be too many of the bigger sides.
Wish I knew. In theory the link breaks - it's a link between your ticket(s) and your account and someone else's tickets and their account. Once it's no longer your ticket...no link. But wouldn't your friend be able to link to your ticket? Last time there wasn't a limit on the number of tickets linked together - I think for my Canada games there were like a dozen account numbers linked? Two other options you might have already considered: Name your friend as your guest, instead of doing an outright transfer. Transfer the ticket now; have your friend transfer it back to you once the appointment is granted. Seat assignment isn't until Spring; there should be a deadline date listed in the fine print when you link tickets.
