https://store.fifa.com/en-us/world-cup/2026-world-cup There’s already a larger range of merch available on the site. Cool to see unique pins and keychains for the different host countries but too bad there aren’t any real photos or dimensions in the description. World Cup excitement is on the up
I like the idea of the national teams interceding for the fans. And it should not be the Dutch team only, it should be EVERY team. "Finally, Patrick makes an urgent appeal to the players of the Dutch national team. "Without fans, no World Cup," he says. "We are the soul of the tournament and I hope that the players of the Netherlands will also comment on this. That they say: this is not possible, football should be for everyone. And not as is happening now only for the rich. Because that may be the biggest defeat of all.”"
I updated my price chart in post #4634 for San Francisco Bay Area games to take into account the fact that since October 16 FIFA now includes the 15% "buyer's" fee in prices on the Resale portal (see attached). I guess someone from FIFA is reading our forum I mentioned the fact that they were not law-abiding in a post on October 6 Now, the price you see is the price you pay (minus taxes).
Update on Transfers: now getting an acknowledgement when I try to accept that: ‘We couldn't complete the ticket transfer acceptance. Please try again later’ which I think is a good thing as I consider it acknowledges there is an issue, and FIFA appear to be aware of it. I did also get a email response to my ‘case’ which was they are now looking into it and then gave themselves another week to respond, over the original week!
This is helpful information. FIFA appears to have prioritized the first account created when there was overlapping information (such as the same credit card) used for the VISA presale. The only entry selected amongst my friends and family this round was for my account which was created many years ago, and it made me wonder if there was any screening related to the age of an account. On a curious note, I saw there was a way to submit an application by mail for the VISA presale. I tried this out as I wondered whether it would actually be included in the lottery. A rejection email was actually sent to the address associated with that account, so it appears that mail-in entries were included. I'm quite curious if anyone was successful in being selected after submitting an entry by mail.
This may have been on purpose. Preventing people from buying unlimited tickets during presale and sending them elsewhere.
Any opinions on how the next phase will work? Since the first phase was apparently successful in filtering out 2 million of 4.5 million applications (by filtering duplicate CC #s), perhaps FIFA will require a CC number this time as well? Or will they go back to the wild west days of allowing 100s of apps per person?
I’d be fine with that. FIFA is making you purchase 2 group stage hospitality packages if you want to go to the LA opener
At some point the dust will settle. And that is the point I will take action. It may be May 2026 until we actually see some value in these prices.
I posted this in another thread accidently but meant to it here. Does anyone know if you can re sell fifa hospitality tickets? They are making you buy 2 group game hospitality packages if you want to go to the LA opener. Not sure if it'll be worth it overall, I am really trying to go to the opener
No, Hospitality packages cant be resold. you can transfer tickets to your guest. If you buy a 2 pack Hospitality single ticket you're gonna have to go to both games. If your goal is M4, there's other ways. (perhaps an M4 RTB is the right product for you?) https://onlocationexp.com/soccer/fifa-world-cup-faq
Once a week I do a random draw of the groups using the simulator whose link was posted earlier (thank you by the way). https://vibedatascience.github.io/world-cup-group-visualization/ I do it mostly to see how bad it can get for the games scheduled at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, aka San Francisco Bay Area stadium. I'm getting confirmation that most of the games played will not even be worth the FIFA price. This is what I got yesterday and that's just dreadful... and please no lesson on how lower teams games can be entertaining, I know that but for the price asked, I want to see top teams and world-class players... and I've seen Belgium play at Euro 24! I know this is probably a worst-case scenario, but still... what do you think?
I think prices will come down for most group games. FIFA is selling high and once the groups are settled some of these prices will come down hard. Only a handful of games are close to being worth today’s pricing. If you want to see top games; knockouts. R32 games will feature top teams.
I think with a draw like this you get to see 8 different teams play world cup matches. I wouldn't complain.
Thank you got making me aware of this. I guess I'll have to pay attention to the market over the next few days, the cheapest I am currently seeing them for m4 is about $400
The reason the U.S. is so high on the list even in 2018 is the number of nationalities that live in the country and can afford to travel to World Cups. They are not fans of the U.S. national team hence the small differences in demand from 2018 to 2022. I attended all 4 USA games in Qatar. The support was decent and is growing but dwarfed by the support of many sides particularly Mexico. Far more people travel from the U.S. to support Mexico at a World Cup rather than the U.S. So my opinion is that it is other nationalities not touts that explains the large U.S. demand. That is also the case for France btw they don't travel in anything like the numbers of Germany. However this time the Europeans are not travelling. Of course many will still travel from Europe but the hardcore fans of many countries are not travelling as of now. The reality of this on the ground is that a Germany v Switzerland game will be relying on local neutrals. Whereas the likes of Algeria v Ecuador will have huge demand from fans of both countries.
People feel like they have to buy now for “planning” and everyone takes advantage of that. In reality just wait. If you know you’re going to travel somewhere book the flight now and just wait on the game until the draw comes out. And after the draw comes out you should probably wait until 24 hours before the game and in, they’re mostly gonna plummet on resale.
They didn’t travel for Qatar either. Honestly it’s pretty lame. Next one is in Europe but if you think ticket prices are going to be decreasing good luck.
