Can you please stop saying that the group games are glorified friendlies. You are embarassing yourself. They never have been and wont be this time around either. How many countries in Qatar got through the group stage with three wins?

Just so everyone aware, this is for the final, but I assume it was the same for all the games they sold via American Airlines.
They promise the marked seats as Cat 1 and Cat2.
Do you know who won't get these seats for Cat 1 and Cat2?

    You guessed it right, you!
They advertise it as an option when we buy directly through fifa, but in reality sell it through other sponsers / companies and you dont stand a chance.

What is funny, that FIFA is also lying here, as the best Cat 1 seats are hospitality and since hospitality isnt included in the price they can't get the best seats here - they would most likely end up behind the goal or best case scenario in the corner area for Cat 1 tickets.

How can you check the cleansed status ? And is it confirmed no one was selected either that status ?

Why are we thinking supporters won't be behind the goal. Cat 3 supporters from the federations have always been behind the goal. In large numbers. I wouldn't expect this to be any different. Maybe they move that to Cat 1/2 pricing but I seriously doubt they dont have large supporters section behind each goal, like always.

Obviously no one knows yet either way.

Plus even if the stakes aren't great the entertainment factor for the GS games are pretty awesome. Like some of the best storylines come from the group every tournament.
You could get a knockout that are complete snoozers that go 0-0 and then penalties due to how cagey it gets like Morocco-Spain. But then in the group you have shit like Saudi handing Argentina their only loss, Japan beating Germany AND Spain, Morocco exposing Belgium as frauds etc. And that was just in 2022.

We were shit in 2022, but it's not like Morocco outplayed us in that game.

They exploited Courtois' apparent inability to defend his near post properly. Fair play to them.

How does the US system work for knockout matches? Do they normally run a lottery for the R16 match? When does that actually happen - a few days before the match?

any confirmed sources for the fixed price Federation tickets? we've read and heard everywhere but any legit sources? Orange Legion and their iconic bus may not come if that's not true!

possibly, those haven't been determined yet. FIFA might do their maths after first three phases are over, otherwise someone would have leaked them

I still think those will be closer to affordable than what we are seing at the moment in VISA presale and majority will be category three.

Because behind the goal lower tier are now cat 1 seats.

It is just different preferences. Front row seats are huge in the U.S. Much less so in Europe.
    We all have different preferences.

The football federations will still get their allocation. It will be mainly cat 3 tickets. The thing we don't know is if FIFA will designate some blocks behind the goal as cat 3 or the Fed allocation will be on level 7. I don't believe it is decided yet.

In the supporters application/lottery (in Dec-Jan), you apply for matches individually, which can include applying for conditional tickets for each potential knockout round. If awarded the conditional tickets, you pay FIFA now for them and they refund you (if necessary) after the tournament.

The US federation made some additional tickets available at the last minute for their R16 game in Brazil but not in Qatar. Other federations and FIFA handle extra supporters and conditional tickets differently. Including situations like in Qatar where Morocco requested and was given Spain and Portugal’s unsold supporters tickets.

I think the most likely setup will mirror the Club World Cup, with three price tiers for supporters. Perhaps not called Cat 1/2/3 if the prices are slightly different from those. For high demand matches, this might be just a single section behind the goal (at Cat 1 price or close to it), with the bulk in the upper levels. Maybe more in the lower bowl for low demand matches where the expensive seats won’t sell to the general public.

So, next window for applications will be Oct27th. I am nos sure about the following sales phase, after the draw on Dec 5th. I am still not sure if methodology will be same as the first 2 phases, a draw followed by a FCFS for a certain window. Does anybody have information about 3rd sales phase?

The next phase is going to be very similar to the current one but I woudl suggest with a lot more tickets available. So ballots and time slots again.

The 3rd phase is like it always used to be where we can put an application in for games and min. cats. and the lucky ones drawn out get the tickets. To be fair I am only just taking this from the Sales Phase information on the FIFA site.

Back when paper tickets were a thing in 2014, it was all handled in a lottery well before the tournament. I think you had to go to the ticket center to change the tickets but I can’t recall. Someone who attended 2022 Qatar would have a better idea, say for US or other supporters were handled. Russia, I can’t comment since USA wasn’t there.

I can tell you for UEFA, because I was a “fan of Spain” and a “supporter of Portugal”, I would receive emails as they progressed and I could buy them, so I would expect something similar.

I’m thinking about having a couple accounts set up indicating I am a “fan”of Argentina, Spain, Brazil, etc..just in case.

I tried the American Airlines ticket batch today, and no luck. All the matches I was interested in were "Unfortunately, all available tickets for this experience have been sold. Browse other upcoming experiences for available tickets." I guess they sold them out in the previous day which was open to a higher tier of AA members.
