Yep, no play off matches today at all. Couple Miami games sold out relatively quickly today. For San Francisco a lot of cat1 and cat2 tix were available and maybe still are. Probably because Cat 1 Miami is less expensive than Cat 2 San Francisco. lol
I have circle. the bummer is its a weighted draw, meaning you dont get priority based on tenure and/or level. it’s just more lottery tickets. kinda bummed about this. paid insider for 12-13 years
Yep thats the million dollar question is how far down the list the lottery will go. Was thinking Keepers would be the line but impossible to tell.
Wow, that is a bit of a shocker. I guess FIFA’s fomo ticketing campaign is working. Locking most people out ramps up the urgency when you do get a chance to buy tickets.
To be fair right now only the hardcore fans are trying to buy the tickets and they've only sold MAYBE 15% of the tickets so far, I doubt there's that many hardcore fans who will willingly pay those prices in the last sales phase
what you say is going to be the reality. They will maybe fill a few stadiums at these prices but the majority will bomb. The big teams are already thru to the next round. Why pay good money to watch glorified friendlies? The lesser teams won’t have the followings to fill stadiums. If you support Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, England, Spain, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Columbia. Lol and few more I cant think off. Why waste your money watching group games. Wait till the tournament begins and start going then
I would doubt they restock, today was for AA's top tier elites, tomorrow mid tier and the next day general members. I wouldn't think they'd make more available for the lower tiers, but who knows?
While I agree there may be a lot of opportunities for cheaper tickets, I love the early matches and I’m generally a fan of the expanded tournament format as it brings more teams to the world stage. I realize that FIFA has done this to squeeze more money, but I’m happy that we will see broader representation from around the globe. In particular, it always seemed like many great African and South American teams got squeezed out during their gruelling qualifiers.
Everyone but Venezuela and Peru made it. Bolivia still fighting. I don’t agree with that process where only 2 don’t make it. For 2030 they’re probably just gonna have all South American teams qualify.
Why are you 99% sure about this? That's not an aggressive question, I hope it doesn't come off that way, I'm just curious. Here's why: A friend who's paid for a dozen years (in part because of membership reps telling him over the years that doing so would put him in good position for supporter tickets when the World Cup came to the U.S. again) spoke recently with his rep, who basically said that past membership/support wouldn't be a factor, that it is is now (my phrase, not his) "pay to play". (I've received a number of solicitations from U.S. Soccer this year touting a 'sale' on annual memberships, including $1000 (!) off of the top tier, which would give me a leg up on supporter tickets. I bin these immediately, in disgust. But maybe I was too hasty, given that this $1000 in 'savings' could be put toward to 2/3 of the cost of a ticket on the FIFA site to one of the USMNT matches next summer?) Whatever the case: I hope you are right!
US Soccer email: "we’ll hold a weighted draw exclusively for Insiders for the U.S. group matches. Higher Insider tiers and longer membership tenure will increase your chances." - There is nothing here supporting that it's weighted by level, and then within each level, ranked by tenure. Just some formula of tenure/level giving you higher chances. I look it as getting more lottery tickets based on tenure/level but who knows how much more weighting either of those give. In theory, a free/low level insider member could get lucky and and a supporter at circle with a dozen years tenure could get nothing, which is.a bunch of bs
I read that literally as weighted by insider level and then tenure. Was also responding to your initial comment of "meaning you dont get priority based on tenure and/or level. " Maybe just semantics but they will definitely weight the lottery starting with Admirals, Presidents, Coaches, Keepers, Etc..and then see where things fall from there. But level definitely matters and tenure does within the level. Hoping we get details and confirmation soon. Theyll cut off upgrades eventually, and expecting a January lottery.
They've announced that it will be a weighted lottery by level and tenure. US Soccer email: "we’ll hold a weighted draw exclusively for Insiders for the U.S. group matches. Higher Insider tiers and longer membership tenure will increase your chances."
I'm basically holding off buying any group USA matches in any presale/NFTs til I find the results of supporters (US soccer, outlaws). I'm hoping thinks arent meager as they are hinting, I can't get why FIFA wouldn't want supporters behind the goal to make it look good for TV. Also they haven't said a peep about knockouts...
Probably the same reason FIFA didn’t want to sell tickets at the usual prices to ensure all games would sell out quickly, and not just the first 15% or whatever they put up for sale now. It’s all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. And they are trying to sell those tickets as Cat 1.
I’m excited about the move to a bigger tournament, though I recognize many prefer the traditional 32 team format which ratchets up the excitement much earlier than the new approach. Until recently it has been quite difficult to watch qualifiers from some parts of the world, and I would be happy to see greater visibility for more teams. While I’d like to think that this would result in lower ticket prices for some of the earlier matches, so far that hasn’t been the case. Let’s hope this is just a North American phenomenon and 2030 results in greater accessibility.
That is truly a bizarre decision. I’m hoping that some seating gets shuffled so that supporters show up behind the goals where they’ve always been.
FIFA feel they can sell seats behind the goal to Americans at cat 1 prices because lower tier is more important in the U.S. These are the cheaper seats in Europe. TV companies will want passionate fans at both ends. I don't think it is decided yet.
Are they still giving people time slots or is that done? If my entry was thrown out for this round does that mean I'm screwed for buying tickets for all remaining rounds?
I think it’s unclear what the “cleansed” status meant for tickets. It’s possible that these applications were thrown out for the remaining parts of this round, but I imagine you’d be eligible for the next round starting at the end of this month.
