This has always been the case. Platini even admitted to doing that in 1998. In 2014 someone prepublished the schedule before the draw on Twitter lol
I'd say that there aren't many cat 3 and 4 at all not that FIFA just isn't releasing them, 80% of the stadiums are CAT 1/2
I call BS on that Discord screenshot. I checked a few against the table from day 1, they are exactly the same, except for a couple of what looked like typos (980 instead of 890, etc.). The link showed the same prices as day 1.
I think they like it lol. Iran USA is great for TV revenue. Argentina and Nigeria matchup... Do the math probability.
Right, and since they’re only releasing 16.7% of the tickets, that’s like a handful of Cat 4’s (some calculated here that there are only about 300 of those Cat 4 tickets in Dallas, other stadiums even less, so that’s like 50 tickets or fewer per game in this phase) and there are not a whole lot more of Cat 3’s this time. Apart from a fanatical few who are willing to drop big money ($25K, $20K totals, or final tickets for $7K), it looks like sales might not be going that well. And these are the most dedicated fans now. It looks like a Club World Cup situation could be developing, but certainly to a lesser degree.
With these prices all I want is a $10 street ticket after kick off for Uzbekistan vs Tunisia to check off I attended 2026 and of course a USA 2026 pin.
And a pair of Cat 1 tickets to the final just sold on StubHub for $7k each, so just a little more than face value. Hopefully, reality is setting in early, and the scalpers will stop buying tickets for resale.
I ended up getting 4x match 4 today. Ridiculous prices in comparison to other matches I’ve attended but hopefully it will be a good show and well make lasting memories. With the exception of a few key matches, I don’t expect to buy any more until prices come down.
Correct me if I'm wrong but with Stubhub, the buyer pays the full service fee of 30% so that ticket ends up being $9100 significantly higher than the $6730 currently advertised by FIFA. A "face value" ticket on the FIFA resale portal would be $7740 ($6730 + 15% fee) and purchased for $8900 ($7740 + 15%). Notice the trick FIFA has in store for us? Well if you charge a 15% fee and then another 15% fee on the new value, then the total fee is not 30% but... 32% (!!) so in a way FIFA makes MORE money on resale than the competing 3rd party resellers at 30% fee.
Another example of Euro fans (in particular) demanding everything be cheap and easy. It really isn't hard to fly between any of the U.S. host cities (except KC); Toronto and CDMX as well. No you can't drive or train between most cities easily; that's not the same as being "unable" to travel. And like the match tickets, you will have many "Cat1" non-stop expensive options (but with 3 days to travel and often 20+ non-stop flights each day...it won't be wildly expensive) and a few "Cat4" connecting options with overnight layovers on airlines that charge more for your luggage than your seat. (Hint: If you're Cat4, bring national kit and laundry detergent. Leave the luggage at home.) And it's never been easier to get legitimate tickets in a section with fellow fans. FIFA has seen to it with the resale platform. If you're following Belgium I bet they'll be rather cheap. Not so much for Argentines...but they'll be readily available. This was never going to be a silver platter World Cup...unless you're selling your silver to pay for tickets. But please don't complain how hard it will be to attend. 100,000 fans do this every March in the U.S. during peak travel season. I'm pretty sure it will be possible next June....
The problem isn't the quick drive - and crossing into Mexico should be quick even for non-residents. The problem is finding a car to do it with. If you're renting and not a U.S. citizen, almost no chance. Plus add a couple of hours of paperwork to cross with the car. If you must go by ground, consider a bus to the border, cross, and rent a car on the Mexico side. If the bus is expensive (and it shouldn't be) you could rent a car in Houston and park it for a few days in the U.S.
You had to add tickets to the cart one by one, correct? Or FIFA now allows to add 2 tickets right away on the resale platform?
Was there any communication when they will allow holders of fifa collect RTBs purchase tickets? I'm assuming after the draw so they can reset prices and squeeze in more money? I heard that some people had nightmares with Club World Cup RTBs and were still not able to covert to actual tickets 2-3 weeks before the tournament. What a joke.
Searching for tickets will normally show you the last sold tickets of the same number of tickets for the same event, and how long ago they were sold. And no, I didn’t buy them!
Nope. It said the prices were with all fees included. I think that was a change after the Taylor Swift fiasco. Total price was $7,056 each for 2 tickets together. I screenshotted it but can’t figure out how to post it here. Anyway, it is what it is.
Someone posted in this thread that the CWC RTB was limited to Cat 1, and people were not happy about that.
Question.. so the ticket owner just uses the Ticket Transfer feature to send to the buy... and FIFA doesn't get any cut of that? Or does FIFA charge both/one of the parties during the Transfer?
Funny you ask... Some games have two selection lines for the same category (see attached for Cat 3) and when you select 1 ticket from each line, it gives you one ticket at the lower price and another ticket at a random price, often the higher price. I did that on M81 and this is what it got me. Tried once then again with 2 tickets each time
Actually, you are correct. In California, per the law (bill SB47) all prices have to include fees (but not taxes). In that regard, FIFA is not abiding by the law for CA because the ticket prices on the resale platform do not include the 15% fee until checkout. Should we sue them? https://oag.ca.gov/hiddenfees
All stadium capacities are here... Think about it, you could put TWO Toronto stadiums in Dallas Stadium! Bring your binoculars... https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments...adiums-fifa-soccer-football-mexico-usa-canada EDIT 1: Also, Cat 1 tickets are for resale at $650 (original $445). That's pretty much Face Value of what we have to shell out here for San Francisco ($620), another reason I'm mad at FIFA for price gouging the Bay Area. EDIT 2: I want to see the Dallas Stadium on TV for a Jordan - Cape Verde game. It will look very empty
Kinda crazy how they set us up with the higher prices like LA and NY's but screwed us over with the groups who will have games at Levi's. I bought tickets for 4/6 Levi's games just because I got the chance but I know the prices won't be as high once the draw is over in December. Like you said before, we might only get 1 Pot 1 featured game here during the group stage.
Got the same thing. Kind of given up getting a ticket at this point. Planning on flying to Vegas and connect to games on the West Coast (assuming I get lucky with tickets). If not will have to just enjoy it all on TV
