They’ve been killing it. I know a ton of people who want to buy tickets but didn’t get selected for the presale, and others like myself that got selected for the presale but couldn’t get what we wanted. I think if sales were open to the general public, sales would be through the roof. I mean people are dishing out $400, $500, $1000 for single tickets to matches for which they literally have no idea which teams will be playing. It’s crazy. Overall I’d say FIFA will be really happy with how things have been going. Many matches are sold out and TST/VST sales seem to have been extremely successful
I think we're going to see wild changes in prices after the final draw on Dec 5th. And that will help align demand and supply. Right now most games are a gamble.
Yeah, likely 200k people made it into this lottery. @Xavierbananas was 250k-ish and didn't make it iirc. even if 2 million of the 4.5+ were thrown out for being duplicate that is still less than 10% that made it. I would have loved to get the random group games in Cat 1/2 that I want now. The teams don't matter, I just want those games lol.
Is it possible that the draw on Dec 5 will be rigged to the point that some teams are already assigned to some stadiums? I mean, I can see it happen for $$$ reasons. Can they just draw the teams and then assign the games manually? For ex. Argentina is drawn in group K. K has two games in Mexico (M24 & M48) and they'll assign the games Argentina - Tier 2 team and Argentina - Tier 3 team and Argentina - Tier 4 games to respectively games M22 (Dallas - 94,000 seats), M47 (Houston - 72,200 seats), M71 (Atlanta - 75000 seats)?
I think that most people are expecting they will assign the locations of the two matches for each group on each day based on various considerations of stadiums and cities and TV timeslots. If you're asking if they will rig which teams go to which group, that's a different level of conspiracy.
I would doubt it, FIFA hasn't preassigned non-host teams in ages. Also Argentina will sell out regardless. FIFA would probably be over the moon if Argentina gets a group with Iran, Tunisia and Slovakia. I would be absolutely stunned if Argentina plays any matches in Mexico before the knockout. Also if FIFA really rigged draws, they would stop the 'unofficial' headaches from happening. Example: Switzerland and Serbia last World Cup. They would never have allowed that matchup to happen.
Maybe someone can explain to me... I'm confused by the FIFA terms "Resale", "Exchange", "Transfer" and "Guest Transfer". I understand that with Resale, Exchange (whatever that is!) and Transfer, you lose access to the tickets and maybe charged 15%, right? https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments...6/articles/resale-ticket-exchange-marketplace What is "Exchange"? Are you trading in with other tickets of the same value? I don't get "exchange"! Do "Transfer" and "Guest Transfer "work the same? You transfer to someone's FIFA ID, and in "Guest Transfer" they could be your guests with whom you'll be seated at the stadium with but they're not going inside at the same time as you, and they can send the tickets back to your app (or you can reclaim them)?
From my experience. Transfer is you transfer the whole lot of tickets. You also lose access to them, they are no longer yours sort of thing. Guest transfer is when you wanted to transfer the names of one of your guests from one person to a new one.
The fact that Cat 3 and 4 are disappearing, even though they have been relegated to worse stadium locations than ever before, is an indication that prices are too high, and a result of those categories being drastically reduced in total number of tickets.
Yeah those seats are hot garbage. I would take them in Mexico/Canada smaller stadiums. But Cat 1 is the priority for USA stadiums for me.
Just wondering for anyone who has access to the portal, is the final selling out? are a lot people actually buying the 6k cat1 tickets?
I may be wrong on this but I vaguely remember someone said they were entry 1M+ and were assigned slot 1
Based on this FAQ: https://gpcustomersupportfwc2026.ti...546469442077-FIFA-Resale-Exchange-Marketplace "Resale" is for everybody except residents of Mexico, and "Exchange" is for people in Mexico. The difference is that Exchange tickets can only be sold at the original purchase price to comply with Mexican law. It looks like "Transfer" is a way to give all of your tickets away, and once you do that they're gone. I thought this wasn't available at previous events because it makes it easy to sell on 3rd party sites. "Guest transfer" is intended for giving to your friends or family in your group, so each can have a ticket on their device. You have to keep one for yourself and can take the others back. This makes selling more awkward but people figure out ways.
All tickets in this phase should have sold by now. Prices will need to drop to fill those huge stadiums in the USA. FIFA is using up their fanatical fan base first in these early phases, but will eventually need the casual American sports fan to buy in too.
Thank you for the explanation. Do you foresee a way to "guest transfer" 3 tickets out of your 4 and THEN transfer your remaining ticket to the resale market or will this ticket be "locked" in some way, if for instance you get sick or something happens and you can't go but the rest of your family/friends can.
Playing with the resale portal... since I have nothing else to do I think some of the touts are realizing the scope of their mistakes by blinding buying tickets and not realizing that we have 48 teams this year and that's a lot of crummy games... I'm regularly checking the games in the San Francisco Bay Area and prices are going down already. Attached is a snapshot of what I could put in my cart now. Category 3 tickets are priced at $215 and with the 15% FIFA tax would cost the seller about $250. The one Category 2 ticket is for the round of 32, priced at $500, seller price $575 Note the comparison with 48 hours ago! M8 - n/a, now $429 (Cat 3) M20 - $650 (Cat 3), now $430 (Cat 3) M31 - $800 (Cat 4), now $400 (Cat 3) M44 - $695 (Cat 3), now $500 (Cat 3) M60 - $720 (Cat 3), now $599 (Cat 3) M81 - $1750 (Cat 2), now $1200 $3500 (Cat 1), now $1400
Could it be that FIFA just aren't releasing as many Cat 3 and Cat 4 tickets to force Cat 2 and Cat 1 purchases?
