I’ll go as far as to guarantee you that resale value will be below face on day of for half of the group stage games. Feel free to mark this to reply to later on.
Southern California/La would attract them, not northern california. it doesnt have that many persians.
I paid the price at the time. I wouldn't feel comfortable suing anyway. Loads got the $13 tickets for Flu v Chelsea. The game almost sold out. Sure it sticks in the craw to realise I could have saved $1K. Equally if i waited and the final was Boca v Flu tickets could have gone higher and i could have been locked out. Prices dropped when Real Madrid lost in the SF. The real lesson is there will definitely be cheaper for some games. There will be games with very low demand and FIFA will need full stadiums for TV. Anything i am hearing around Europe is that fans aren't travelling. I've heard even in the past 2 days of hardcore German and Dutch fans now not going. All would get federation tickets for their games. This tournament is mainly for rich locals. Some games will rocket. An Argentina v Italy type game will have only tickets for four figures after the draw. However there are a lot of games and a lot of tickets to sell.
Hey all, please fill out this Google Form so we can better identify any patterns in how FIFA chose applicants during the lottery https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...iDRVDQHqCPr8pwhK_-C1HY/edit?pli=1&gid=0#gid=0
Finally on the board. Picked up 1 US game (3rd group stage in LA). Its a start and nice piece of mind. $900. Probably 2x face value so not too crazy but whatever. I'll get my 2 each from US Fed and just scouring 1 extra for my son. All games are available, just super pricey obviously. Now I can sit back and watch how the marketplace reacts for the other 2 games.
Makes sense. I'm an hour drive away from Levi's. Maybe what I should do is: 1) if I get the email, buy M20 and M44 in presale (in case those games get Pot 1 teams), plus M81 (round of 32). 2) wait and see for the other SF games, which we know do not involve Pot 1 teams. Ah, who am I kidding? FOMO will kick in and I'll buy them all as soon as I can.
Found this group stage draw simulator with ticket prices and everything. Fun tool to see what matchups we might end up with: https://vibedatascience.github.io/world-cup-group-visualization/
Great tool to play with. One thing this draw simulator doesn't do is simulate the group position of each team. Usually a team is drawn into a group along with the position. For example if a pot 2 team is drawn into Group C, they are drawn into C2, C3, or C4. I see the schedule doesn't have the matches predetermined as C1 v C2 and C3 v C4 for example so maybe it doesn't even matter.
Pricing high for early buyers is a tactic that many event organizers have started using. For example, the upcoming UFC in Abu Dhabi was initially sold for around $1,500 in July, but just three days ago they released more tickets for only $650 as they couldnt sell well. Wild ! Everyone who rushed to buy early now feels cheated.
If you look at the recent international tourism figures in the USA, it’s a complete failure. The numbers have dropped sharply. The USA is no longer attractive with everything that’s happening. I also expect many neutral fans to choose Mexico and Canada instead.
I did this... the old fashioned way (I'm not a programmer). Small pieces of paper, names of the teams on them, separated into four pots (espresso mugs) and my son and I pulling randomly. I used current FIFA rankings which has Italy and Germany in Pot 2. We both got England & Germany in the same group (!), as well as France & Iran and Croatia & Senegal. As for Italy, they got grouped with Argentina with me and the Netherlands with my son.
I’ve received the same feedback from many French friends. Some of them attended the last two or three World Cups, but they are literally ‘boycotting’ this one for many reasons. In my opinion, many European fans won’t even sell out their ticket quotas, and you’ll see a lot of tickets returning to the portal in the last-minute sales or being resold. I expect many tickets to be available at good prices if you wait, especially for the knockout matches
A friend asked me if there are TST-3 tickets in all categories. I couldn’t find the answer, but I think it’s only Cat 1-3, and not available in Cat 4. Is that correct?
I was going to fill it out but then it says " Successful applications only". I feel left out... ... twice! You do have this interesting question : "Mailbox receiving FIFA promotional RTB emails". Why does it matter? I receive them on some of my mailboxes but I didn't know it meant something.
Having the Euros playoff teams in pot 4 is gonna be really interesting if Germany and Italy don't qualify directly from the Euros qualifying group stage. Will make for some great group dynamics especially if they end up in a group with a host.
It's never too late to plan for the next World Cup as it looks like I might be watching this one on TV even being on home soil, and... ... I just realized that the 2030 World Cup will have 6 (six!) host countries automatically qualified as hosts... I was thinking that having 3 pre-qualified hosts this year ranked 14, 16 and 26 in the world was detrimental to the games but they're doing three better for the next World Cup though honestly, at this point only Paraguay (ranked 37) would really benefit considering the level of the other hosts teams. Now if you're thinking arranging for travel is tricky this year, wait for 2030 if you intend to attend the centenary matches... the distance between Buenos Aires and Madrid is a mere 10,100 kms or 6,300 miles. Get ready for a 12-hour red-eye flight to Madrid CAF Morocco (co-host) CONMEBOL Argentina (anniversary match co-host) Paraguay (anniversary match co-host) Uruguay (anniversary match co-host) UEFA Portugal (co-host) Spain (co-host)
I believe they call it Price Anchoring, start high this way when it drops it seems like a good deal. From what I have seen in images that people have posted, this seems to be the case, Cat 1-3 only.
