Can you please send us to the FIFA link that’s says they will sell a ticket for $6,730… which is an awfully precise price by the way! Otherwise you’re just spreading rumors, something that’s very common in today’s environment in the US of A. The only official mention of a price I saw was that prices would start at $60

Your last 13 posts have been some sort of FIFA price outrage, we get it. Move on.

(ok, I'm moving on as well)

And side note: if the US were to get into the final (which they won't) you can bet your sweet tits that I'll be paying the $6,700.

“The price of $6,730 is the Category 1 price for the 2026 World Cup Final. It is the most expensive ticket you can buy,” FIFA Director of Ticketing and Hospitality Falk Eller said at a virtual media event.

I wouldn't buy flights/hotel for it, but if I were local, absolutely.

I think it will be helpful to set aside the general reputation of the US as "not a football country", as that is much less relevant with the World Cup. In the US the World Cup is treated as a top-tier major event by the media and the general sports audience, certainly far bigger than any tennis event. The CWC was a new and unknown tournament; it is not indicative of how the US will respond to the World Cup.

104 Super Bowls is an exaggeration, but the final will be a Super Bowl-level event. The M4 US opener will not be far off from that.

"while the most exclusive seats will reach up to USD 6,730 for the final"

There's a lot to understand here....

"Most exclusive seats" are not cat 1... Right?

And if its talking about category 1, maybe this is the highest price it will reach in case of enough demand. Not the initial price.

    Or I'm too optimistic?

I don’t think FIFA would be tipping its hand regarding variable price adjustments. But yes, it’s possible there’s some higher “VIP” (but non-hospitality) category for the final above Cat1.

If FIFA really wanted to max their pay day they wouldn’t limit themselves to 4 price categories. Seems incredibly stupid on their part.

If they went full Ticketmaster dynamic pricing, they would be dividing each stadium into a huge number of sub-categories. I think even FIFA is reluctant to go that far with its greed. Also when they are selling TST3 packages which will go to unknown venues, keeping a simple set of categories will be much easier to manage.

For those in the US with Verizon here is a schedule of their WC giveaways for the next two weeks.

I'm 100% going to the qualification games here in Guadalajara and i'll be lucky if it's Irak vs El Salvador, I would NOT travel for that game though

Best hospitality seat to a WC final for 6.7k seems pretty cheap tbh, so I doubt it's that

I think I paid 120 euro for a cat A group game ticket and around 80 euro for a cat 3 ticket. Just going off hazy memory but it was definitely similar to what I would have paid to see a major sporting event in Australia at the time. As a modern comparison I paid the equivalent of $US250 for a ticket in the second highest category to this Sunday's NRL Grand Final which tells me FIFA inflation is very high in comparison

I think we're going to see a new category. "Category 1 Plus" for the final and probably most top matches. The $6730 is definitely not Hospitality. Lowest priced hospitality is $15,250.

I get your point, but I’m wondering: if Brazil isn’t part of the Western world, then which one are you placing it in?
