I had 6 application with 6 different address, phone number and different credit card. I used only 2 laptops, and only 2 applications got rank. The first application on each device had the rank.
He said the Cat 4 final is going to be 2,300… You couldn’t even sell a Cat 1 ticket for that price for Argentina x France if I remember right I just checked and I sold a Cat 2 opening ticket in Qatar for $550 on Viagogo. People just weren’t paying more than that. I don’t know if Americans are really that rich, or just stupid, to pay 4x more than three years ago. But I don’t believe FIFA will be able to sell out at those prices. Or maybe I’m just in denial
There are 10x more people in the ny tri state area than qatar, and select people here are willing to pay $2000 for concert tickets, tennis finals and nba games. US soccer federation doesn't even lower prices to national team games to get more people in to create a packed house. FIFA already told the world they want to have 104 super bowls in 1-2 months. The final is going to have a few thousand seats at the very top for actual fans. Rest will all be corporate, sponsors, rich people and social media people. The president will be there to declare this to be the best world cup ever, the game will be packed one way or another. Maybe with whoever makes it we can snap up some cheap ones on resale but i doubt many tickets will be officially sold to the gen pop at under $1000.
When’s the last World Cup that was hosted in a highly populated country with a massively affluent middle to upper middle class? Germany 2006? I wasn’t around then, but I can’t imagine those tickets were cheap or easy to get. And not to even mention that the US has a culture of people paying relatively much higher prices for events than anywhere else. And an acceptance of reselling tickets for profit. The other big difference is that FIFA has decided to make a concerted effort to steal profits from resellers (StubHub, etc) via variable pricing. This is a new process and pricing strategy for them, which requires a new strategy from us. It’s not going to cost $500 for a good seat to South Africa vs Switzerland, even if that’s how FIFA prices it initially. For the CWC, the optimal strategy for every single game turned out to be to wait as long as possible to buy tickets. The most major difference here from the past is that you won’t luck into very cheap tickets for a good match by buying pre-draw.
It’s been discussed here plenty. No one shrugged it off or thinks it’s normal. But we’re on “post 5000” of the same. (Exaggerating a bit )
I think FIFA will get the prices for the final. It is frustrating but not much we can do but suck it up. I have 5 games via RTBs. Looks like no joy for me in this phase. It is the first tournament in the western world since 2006. Foir various reasons Jo'burg, Rio, Moscow and Doha were less attractive/accessible than a Berlin or New York. I don't buy the 104 Superbowls. There will be lots of unattractive games. If you want to see Argentina or Brazil it will cost. Uzbekistan v DR Congo at 3pm on a Tuesday in KC will be very cheap. These are often the best games. Normally you can pick up many games at this stage and wait for the draw. Not this time. Yes it is frustrating. Will people risk $300+ for a random group game?
I know the USA (English language) and probably Canada soccer media is pretty toothless or nonexistent, but I hope the USA (Spanish language) and Mexican soccer media really hammer FIFA on the ticket price gouging. It looks like FIFA didn’t learn anything from the Club World Cup, but hopefully most of us did. Don’t pay those crazy initial prices!
I contacted FIFA about if we would get rejection emails and they told me we won’t be getting rejection emails until end of October, just days before phase 2 begins. This also means acceptance emails will be continued to roll out until Mid to late October.
Nope. The FIFA price gouging is THE story of the World Cup thus far. It is not a normal thing to raise prices 6X to 10X from the last World Cup. Prices had been creeping up from World Cup to World Cup, more in line with inflation. These increases represent a radical departure that will change the character of the World Cup experience, for the worse, sadly. And you think we should just shut up about it? Come on now.
This looks like fifa will def be adding tickets each slot so slot 1 doesn’t take all of it away. Some good news
Yeah... But this is not tennis or the NBA. It's football/soccer. What we saw recently in the USA was Copa America and CWC. Ok we know that's totally different from the world cup... But CWC final was in NY, Trump was there to steal a medal etc. Anyway, fifa was struggling to sell tickets and reduced the prices of the final to 200usd on the day before the game... There isn't infinite demand anywhere. People is not that crazy I know some people who have attended finals previously and I'm sure none of them are willing to pay 4/5k usd for a ticket.
1) curious. How much would BigSoccer folk would pay for Uzbekistan vs Congo in Kansas City round 3 game? 2) same question, but now, both teams already eliminated.
Well, since most of your posts are rants about pricing.. we all are very well aware of where you stand and how you feel. Probably don't need to keep posting that same sentiment. This event is super pricey, we all agree.
Nope. It is more than that. You don’t seem to get it. And, there is no need to complain about posts or posters.
"Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville? I needed a new heel for my shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we? Oh, yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..." And that's how I got tickets to the 1994 final.
Nobody yet knows the prices, you’re a bit premature in your assumptions. We have heard “Story’s” but nothing concrete. Tomorrow we will know the facts so lets just wait and see eh
Again, FIFA has publicly announced that a ticket that cost $1,607 in Qatar will cost $6,730 this time. Draw your own conclusions.
What ticket incompatibilities will there be tomorrow? Can I buy more than one TST-3? If I buy a specific match and a TST, could I get duplicate tickets?
